WoW! I know there are a lot of die-hard fans out there, but one person took their baby to the Taylor Swift concert in Paris and placed it on the floor, in the pit section! There is a link in the article below to a photo on someone's X account. If that link doesn't work there is also a link in the Yahoo article below, www.yahoo.com/entertainment/taylor-swift-fan-paris-concert-164952025.htmlThat child can so easily be stepped on, plus the noise damage to the child's ears! Also, how did they get the baby into the venue? Did it have a ticket? And the parent(s) really could not find a babysitter??

Wow. Just when you think you’ve seen the limits of how dumb people can be, someone comes along and surprises you by being even dumber.

Yikes. Even if you're keeping a close eye on the baby, in a crowded room of standing people, that is pretty risky. I'm surprised security didn't get involved.

That poor baby. We are just seeing one of its mother’s bad decisions. If she will do this, you know there are plenty more.

Why did security not stop them going in?

I mean, I want to go see T-Swizzle, but no way in hell I'd bring a baby... or a toddler. FFS people are stupid.

That seems so scary to me. I assume the baby was fine, but my gosh that was a risky choice in my mind.

Why did security not stop them going in? I saw an article and it said they had a ticket for the baby and their only rule is that anyone under a certain age needs an adult with them.

Playing devil's advocate here. You can't tell with the black circle, but it is possible baby has noise cancelling headphones on. I've been to a few events where baby has been and had the headphones one. One was actually the 10th business anniversary of a fellow wedding vendor and his 6 month old baby girl was there and they had them on her (noisy party - he's a dj lol). I've seen photos online of kids at races with them on as well.
However the floor is NOT the place for the baby!!

Get a sitter or don't go to a concert. Such a selfish parent!

Bringing a baby to a nighttime concert in general is weird IMO. we went to see Interpol the other night, and there was a family with a kid that looked to be less than a year. The baby had ear protection, but that kid needed to be in bed! After about 10:30, *I* was ready for bed!

I just got back from Paris a couple weeks ago. Considering how they take their dogs everywhere (including into very upscale restaurants) this doesn't surprise me. Stupid people can have babies unfortunately.

Mom might not have been there! He could have been the rear guard and mom was in front of the baby. If they could afford a ticket for the baby, they could have hired a babysitter. Or, are babysitters not common in France?

That is a crazy! The noise-decibel level and safety issues. I am shocked that any Parent would think it's okay to bring an infant to a concert of this size and caliber.
Actually, I guess I am not shocked or surprised, given some peoples sense of entitlement or child attachment issues. There have been posts on this very message board, in regards to someone's child-children not being invited or included at any given event. There have been posts about not going anywhere, without my child-children. Not leaving my child-children with anyone.
Not everything is child-children friendly. There is a time and a place when children are included and there is a time and a place when children should NOT be included. Sometimes grownups need to have grownup time. But, there's always that one entitled Parent or the one attachment issue Parent (not leaving my child-children behind).

Everyone is calling out the mom, but those look like male legs to me. And why is it always the mom who knee-jerk gets called out for child-rearing issues? Even a test tube baby has two parents.

WTH. Here is part of her rationalization: If that's the case, you might want to re-think your financial situation. Becoming a parent means giving up some things, concert tickets you can't afford, for instance. Mainly the good ones. So your fan cred trumps the safety of your baby? Not a good enough reason to leave your baby on the floor of an SRO section. I've been to a lot of concerts and festivals and taken my children to them. I didn't compromise their safety to do so. I just got back from Jazzfest in New Orleans and there were times when SRO crowds were alarming. It would have been so easy for a small child to be trampled.

I completely agree with what you are saying. And I imagine whatever they paid for the concert tickets would cover the fee of a babysitter. What a ludicrous justification.

If the baby had on ear protection, I have less problems with the baby being there. Lots of kids get hauled around and do just fine. But the baby on the floor makes me very, very concerned. It’s way too easy for something to happen and then for the baby to get trampled. I’m thinking of the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester a few years back.

I’ve been with toddlers on the lawn of general admission outdoor amphitheaters. It’s lovely.
But the SRO of a concert like that? Right up there where the concert is really loud? Even if they have ear protection, it can come off, babies are not that cooperative. And crowds are unpredictable and potentially scary. , I wouldn’t risk a baby in case of trampling, crush, or other uncontrolled behavior.

Why did security not stop them going in? I saw an article and it said they had a ticket for the baby and their only rule is that anyone under a certain age needs an adult with them. My thought was why the heck would anyone pay those prices for a baby's ticket? Unless they just have tons of disposable income...but in that case why not leave the baby with a sitter. The cost of the baby's ticket would pay for a sitter. I guarantee that a baby is not going to appreciate whoever is playing at any concert.
