Did not have "getting a kitten" on my list, but here we are...  He's more "peaches and cream" colored than in this photo and he's a bit feisty. His Animal Shelter name was "Banana" and his brother was "Serrano", as in peppers. We are not in love with the name, so thought I'd ask the Peas if they had good suggestions. We already have a small mutt named "Sirius Loki Black", but we're staying away from Harry Potter names... other bookish and/or Disney names would be welcome. The kids keep laughing at the name "Banana", but all I can keep thinking about is that episode of "Friends" where Phoebe changes her name to Princess Consuela Banana Hammock... Thanks in advance! ^.^ |

If he’s peach colored and has stripes of course he should be named Tigger!
(ETA: and it’s especially appropriate since he’s also feisty!)

His color reminds me of oatmeal or cashmere, and he's adorable!!

have you read the Hitchhiker's Guide the Galaxy books? There's a character in there called Hotblack Desiato, lead singer of the band, Disaster Area. It made me think of that when I saw your dog's name. So my suggestion is Desiato (Desi for short) Hot Black, so he and Sirius Loki Black will have the same last name  |

Thanks all! He's currently perched on my shoulder, which seems to be his favorite spot. I do not recall prior kittens doing this, but it's been well over 15 years since we had one..

We were in this boat a few weeks ago when we brought home a new kitten to join my other 2 orange cats. We have an Ernie, Oscar and now Merlin (he just appears and reappears without notice) but also on our list was:
Dexter, Sparrow, Gus, Gilbert, Theo, Baloo, Scooter and Sullivan (Sully)
Good luck...he's so cute!

My sister and niece came across three black kitten brothers named "Habanero", "Jalapeno", and "Pablano" - they went back the next day to adopt all three, but someone had adopted "Pablano" so they adopted the other two. Habie and Jalie are the cuuuuuuutest! I do love the pepper theme! |

Update: still no name. However, he has come out of his shell SO MUCH. I understand since he was caged with his 5 siblings, he's 4 weeks old, and the trauma of being in a shelter... it's like night and day though. This morning, he is chasing the dog and hiding in the middle of our coffee table to try to snag his tail or jump on his back. He's still sweet as pie when he's napping though (aren't they all?).
