If you were going to be packing a GO-bag to spend a few days in a hotel for an event, but were thinking you would have an hour or two alone to scrap from time to time during the week, what would you pack?
I already have basic tools, inks, cutting mat, pens & pencils perpetually packed in my shoulder tote. I am thinking about what papers and embellishments I might put in there...
Not sure if I will be able to print photos of the graduation I will be attending and various family gatherings while there. But will have the opportunity to print pic's of the grad's cousins playing hockey/baseball/lacrosse the weekend before.

If I only had an hour or two to scrap I'd make it easy on myself and pack basic tools, a collection kit (12 papers and a sticker sheet), pictures, and a sketch that would work with my pictures.

a paper pad or collection kit with coordinating cardstock plus white cardstock of course and a stack of photos that will work with those papers (colour/theme wise)...in my case unless I picked Christmas paper, I would be picking photos that didn't have a strong theme/colour to them so they would work with the papers. I would then grab the colour embellishment boxes that fit the colour scheme - those have die cuts, stickers, ephemera, and so on. If I have enamel dots that fit colourwise, i'll add those.
tools wise - a cutter, a pen for journalling, my cutterbees for fussy cutting, photo squares and pop dots
I can always search for a sketch on my phone.

I probably wouldn't take stuff to make layouts.
I would take alphabets and make words. I would bring little baggies to put the words in. I would take 12 x 12 embellishments sheets, that need to be fussy cut.

I would always bring a 13 x 13 Iris container in my luggage. I had 2-3 page kits that had paper, embellishments, something I could fussy cut and a sketch. I also packed sticky notes. Then I'd put those at the bottom. On the top, I'd have tape gun, a punch or two, scissors, and some washi tape. My trimmer never fit in the case, so that went on top. I would craft from the bed on top of an ironing board. I used the sticky notes to remind me if I wanted to add something I had forgotten or couldn't take with me.

grammadee Besides paper and embellishments, if you want to work on the graduation pages, add some plain white printer paper cut in various photo sizes you might use on the graduation pages. Write the size on them and, if you've decided which pictures to use, identify them on the cut-to-size printer paper). This would save you from having to pack a printer. Also print out a few sketches that spark your interest.

When I go to a crop I take page kits. I assemble the pictures, paper, pre-cut embellishments then put that all in a plastic bag. Or - since I make a lot of cards I pre-cut the card pieces and put them in a 5x7 photo box. This works great for me if I am making multiples of the same card - like Christmas cards or the cards that I make to donate.

I do the same as gramma above me... I am working on putting page kits now for a 5 day crop in January 2025 at the OBX.....I intend to get as much done as possible. I like always having a go bag of something to work on, whether it be putting together words, cards, or fussy cutting.

I don't like making page kits, but would likely bring a set of photos and fill an Iris case with an assortment of papers and embellishments for a specific theme like sports. You might not get pages absolutely complete without your whole stash, but would have a good start on them.

This works great for me if I am making multiples of the same card - like Christmas cards or the cards that I make to donate. This is what I did when I had to pack up all my scrapbook stuff prior to a move. Those hand created page kits were put into my crop bag, and they worked well, since it allowed me to scrapbook with my friends. The crop bag with the page kits stayed with me while everything else got put into the moving container. It would work well for any scrapbooking on the go. I used 2.5 gallon ziplock bags for each page kit. Clarification: along with the photos, papers, and store bought embellishments, my ziplock bag kits included die cut titles, journaling thought out and printed ahead of time on card stock, and stamped images that I had prepared in advance. I kept a paper trimmer, adhesives, and basic tools in my bag, but they were minimal. The several kits took up most of the space in my crop bag, but the advance preparation paid off and pages went together quickly.

A lot of the time I do a template of the whole layout on the Silhouette including the pictures so that I get a preview of what it will be before I do all the cutting. Then I print it so I don't forget what my great idea was when I get to the actual sticking things down part.
