OMG I've just finished all the episodes released today - I stream while I'm working so I'll have to re-watch to see any visual details I may have missed while I was looking away.
I think they left it in a great spot to wait for another month for the rest! I about cried!
Feeling a bit bad for Cressida, and dying over Penelope's sisters and their lack of understanding about what it takes to get pregnant lol.

we are in graduation week here, the ceremony was last night. My Inlaws wanted to go out for a drink after (there was a whole kerfluffle over several things) so we had a rather lazy morning once I got my younger child to school. I admit to watching the first episode while laying in bed this morning and am about half way through the second. I love all the press the main actress is doing this time round and also, did you notice in the opening "presentation" scene the mother/daughter who were signing to each other? Tip of the hat to Shonda Rhimes for taking a beat to celebrate diversity in all its forms.

Im stuck... Do i watch or wait? Ill probably watch but i really hate that they are splitting it...I agree, but I figure when the second half drops that I will just restart this season and binge it all together. |

Binged the first four yesterday, I was underwhelmed. I love Penelope's new look but the rest of it just fell flat for me. It was boring. Where's the concern over chaperoning? Penelope mentions that spinsters don't need chaperones but she's actively on the marriage market, it is not smart for her to be alone with Colin all the time. Why wasn't Anthony involved at all with Francesca? He breathed down Daphne's neck during her season but seemingly doesn't give a crap about the girls that are left now that he is married.

His story is being skipped. Now I'm clearing my calendar for June 13 so I can binge the rest of the season. |

after reading the books, I think it is unbelieveable that cressida is ever a friend to any woman, let alone a bridgerton.

I think I’d have preferred Penelope to marry the solid, nice guy and have space to pursue her own interests and write actually. It’s just so cliche she and Colin somehow. Like burning passionate love with a man is the only good outcome for a woman. I’d have liked her to tell him she did have a crush on him but this is her life, and she values her own interests more.
I never read the books and I’m sure they are following those but honestly I’d have liked to see that. Or better yet Penelope and Eloise together telling the whole society to F off we aren’t marrying anyone 😂 unless it’s each other!

women needed to marry for the most part so they could live.. the finances of the time did not really allow most to ignore that. jane austin lived very frugally when her dad died.. and only did better when her brother inherited riches and gave his family a home..
it is a fantasy too far. the whole genre is about women getting married.

I know Penelope is madly infatuated with Colin.... but I do believe if Colin hadn't gotten crazy jealous, she would have been perfectly happy with Lord Devlin...
He would have allowed her the freedom to be whistledown...
I like her passion with Colin.... but if had stayed away for the season, she would've been good... plus after fighting with cressida over him and her winning... icing on the cake..

I just skimmed through this. 😉. DH is going out of town for several days at the end of June and that’s when I’m going to dig out my 50th birthday tiara and a bottle of wine (or two) to binge watch. The curiosity is killing me but I’ll be okay.

I read that they skipped over Benedict’s story to lay some groundwork for other plot lines and that season 4 will highlight him. And for those of you who are not thrilled about Penelope and Colin, I have a feeling that when he discovers her writing endeavors, he may be too angry to marry her. He was very against Lady Whistledown. I have learned that I have grown into one of those old ladies that cannot watch the steamy sex scenes like I used to. I find that too much close up of kissing and that carriage scene and I wanted to skip forward. I didn’t, but I did go ahead and fold some laundry during those scenes. Kissing never used to bother me, but it does now. Not as in make me angry or anything, but I am uncomfortable if it goes on too long. Must be another sign of getting old. |

I wasn't going to watch until June, but I had a migraine on Friday that had me lying down with an ice pack wrapped around my head and one good eye so I watched with that good eye.
I'm not into Cressida's redemption arc that never happened in the books. I'd have totally jumped at the chance of independence with Lord Debling. Even his offer was making me hot & bothered, lol. I'm not a huge Colin fan, but the actress Nicola Coughlan can do no wrong for me since I loved her in Derry Girls.
I will say that carriage scene, I started laughing when the Pitbull song came on and then I got hot under the collar feeling like I was intruding on a super private steamy moment. Is it me or did it go on forever?!? Now I will anxiously await the next 4 episodes and hope Penelope can find both personal fulfillment on multiple levels.

The title does say spoilers but I don't know if we want book vs show type things... so the only thing I will spoil is that the book does not address this at all... Also, the books are different from the show in a lot of ways... Shonda Rimes has taken extreme liberty is creating what she wants vs what Quinn wrote... |
