I'm 61 and overweight, what kind of swimsuit would look best? Going to Vegas in June and the gals I am going with want to sit by the pool.

I would look for a suit that has tummy control in it (like the Miraclesuit) or one with ruching.

I've hated bathing suits for as long as I can remember. It does not matter what my body shape was at the time. I am so not a fashion person, I like comfort. With that being said, I bought a super supportive bikini top and I wear a UV shirt over it with swim shorts. I highly recommend it.

I would check out Lands End's selection. They have skirts and board shorts in various lengths, along with traditional suits and swim dresses. I personally like a separate tankini top with a swim skirt.

Definitely a tankini top with a skirted bottom. Makes using the restroom a million times easier.

I second the tankini look as well because you can buy individual sizes for each if you are larger or smaller on the top and bottom. I have a belly so I get a layered top piece and then a skirt. I usually buy mine at Target every year.

This may sound counterintuitive, but I feel happier with myself in a suit that is a bit sexy than in a "mom" suit designed to hide everything. I bought this one from Amazon last year and I love it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XBSL9Y3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1(ETA: last year they had more colors and sizes available - mine is a coppery color and size XL, I think.) Yes, my belly and thighs are on display, but who cares? Stand up straight and pull your shoulders back. I do not like skirt suits or anything with a flappy top. Just personal preference. I will wear a flowy cover-up over it for walking around and/or for sun protection.

I second Land's End. Good quality and many things to chose from. I like going for a 2 piece, easier to used the bathroom! I love the little skirts and longer tops.

I couldn't remember if a pea recommended it, but I think you're right. I find it very flattering.

After years of wearing tankinis I bought a one piece from Land's End. I actually think it's more flattering and I love less fabric which makes it easier to swim in, etc. Try to find a cute to you coverup. I'm a burn easily girl so you will always find me in the shade.

But, I bet a swimsuit is similar to leggings. I find that tight ish leggings are much more flattering than the unattractive, baggy capris that I used to wear. So, I say embrace your figure and get a suit similar to the one in the link.

Lands End- they have D and DD cup sizes on some suits which is helpful. I hate the way I look in a bathing suit no matter how thin I have ever been, my thighs are all cellulite. I wear a skirted bottom and I just refuse to feel bad about myself now.
I tried a standard one piece, but my hips are out-of-proportion wide and it looked awful. I couldnt get past that one.

I did recommend a black halter top swimsuit here before, but I can’t find the exact one. It was more like this: a.co/d/iQWxZ36Mine is convertible and I still absolutely love it. I can wear it as pictured, with the straps crossed in the front, or with them straight up in the front and crossed in the back, or I can put them both on one shoulder so it’s asymmetrical. Super versatile!

Another one to say Lands End for all things swimsuits!

I want to add that the swimsuits I have from Lands End have very thick, heavy fabric especially when they’re wet. They take forever to dry. The suits I have from Miraclesuits are very lightweight and dry quickly so I like them a lot more.

I’ve become a believer in having a nice one piece black suit. I ordered one from the CALIA line at Dick’s and then ordered a bright green one piece too since I was so pleased with the first suit. I’m not overweight, but I am 57. I don’t want to wear a matronly looking suit and I don’t feel someone heavier looks better in that type of suit. I’d recommend a nice one piece in a color you love. Get a nice cover up or two for getting to the pool. You can wear it poolside too for sun protection.

I would get a nice black one piece. I have one from Summersalt.
Pair it with a straw hat and big black sunglasses.

I wear a sports bra (Natori Yogi Convertible) with black boy short bottoms (Casey from TYR) and have a rashguard/sun shirt (Hang Ten from Costco) over the top when I need less sun or want to not be hanging out in my sports bra.
I find bathing suit tops REALLY hard to find that fit me and don't pull on my neck and are able to be worn while swimming and wakeboarding and living life. I'm a 32H and have searched FOREVER for a well fitting suit to no avail (I'm 50 and been dealing with this for like 35 years). I've ordered (and returned) from all the companies online, I've tried on (and cried in fitting rooms) from all the companies in person only to be frustrated and pissed off at the lack of tops in my size.
