Good morning.
Dh is going to be back up in the attic working on our canned lighting and ceiling fan in the living room. So, I'll stay home until he's finished and then I have a quick errand to run. After that, it's home to relax. If the dough survived then dh is going to make another pizza. He makes mini pizzas. If not, then I'll make AF fajitas.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend? We're gonna go to our favorite nursery on Sat or Sunday am. Dh needs a basil plant, cause his seeds didn't survive and it's too late to start over. It's an opportunity to go browse in a really peaceful place. Apart from that, he'll be busy working on the room and I'll be busy trying to find stuff to keep myself occupied.
May this weekend be fun, relaxing and happy for everyone!

I have some laundry to do tonight so I can pack in the morning. I also want to work on some ribbon curls for the flowers we are going to put at the cemetery for Mom and Dad's "drawer" and our grandparents "drawer". If I don't get to it, I will bring the supplies and work on it in the hotel room. Electrician is coming today to get the bathroom lighting, switches, and fan wiring set so that will be ready for when we drywall the ceiling and walls. But the tub has to come out first...I think SO will work on that while I am gone. Hopefully! He may have a couple of rain days next week to work on it too. I think Monday I will go to the nursery to but my flowers for my pots. I did not want to go last weekend, too busy. I am hoping Monday will be nice and quiet.

scrappert, I do hope you'll go to the nursery on Monday. Perhaps you could schedule something that you really want to do as a healing treat for yourself the weekend after this. My thoughts are w/you.

I'm off today because it is an non-instructional day at the schools so teachers have to be there but not students ... so no subs! I'm going to do some laundry today and pick up a few groceries ... just enough for dinner because it is raining all day today and I don't want to be out in it! . I'll do a decent shop tomorrow ... My Mum is coming over for dinner so I'll speak to her soon and see what she would like After living through six months of a home renovation, I don't envy you scrapmaven and scrappert ... but living in the result is alway so nice!

Back home from After School Care. Being that it was the last day before a 2 week school break, the children were remarkably well behaved. It helped that we started out with 8 kids not there - some sick, one never comes on Friday and a few just went home straight after school, possibly as their family was heading out early on vacation. One colleague and I came up with a spontaneous craft activity after lunch - we found some pretty origami paper in our stash, showed them a couple of things, then let them go! On my way to school, I stopped off in the city at the large open-air food market. There is a really good fish shop there and the sell a lovely 'fish mix' - the list it as a fish soup mix, but I buy it for fish pie or paella. It has salmon, white fish, baby calamari and prawns. Once I got to school, it went into the fridge in the kitchen we use - I set a couple of reminders to go it it before I left.
It's a long weekend here, even for those not in school. It is possible we'll go to the garden centre tomorrow after we do our weekly grocery shop. We normall plant a lot of herbs and a tomato plant or two.
Dinner tonight is Paella. Not sure when to expect DH home; I might get everything ready soon so I can cook once he's here.

I’ll be watching my two great nephews for a couple hours this afternoon and probably three hours tomorrow afternoon for calling hours and celebration of life for the dad of my nieces best friend. It’s been a long week for the family. It’s One thing to lose someone you love, but then to have his name all over the news because of the accident and then our governor ordered the flags to fly at half staff because he was a state worker.
Not sure when they’re headed home to Florida probably Sunday because they both have to get back to work. They’ll be back in July for a couple of weeks. By then my moms pool will be open, and the boys can swim
Hope to get to our local nursery this weekend too, and get a couple more hostas and not sure what else

Another rainy day here. Mother Nature is not cooperating with my need to get the backyard dried up.
Walker presented us with a dead squirrel at the back door this morning when DH let him out for his morning break. We aren’t sure whether he killed the squirrel or if it was already dead in the yard and he claimed it as his own.
Today is grandboy #3’s seventh birthday. He asked me for a pet snake! Instead I filled a diaper box with candy - bags of sour keys, ju jubes, licorice, Tootsie Pops, gum, his favourite drinks, chips, Freezies, etc - lots and lots of junk but figured that was better than a snake!
Not sure about supper yet. The local restaurant is having a burger/fries special so maybe…

Happy Friday! I didn't think today would ever get here. Long week...
We had our employee party last night. It went really well. I think everyone had a lot of fun.
Not a lot going on today. It's not raining yet but it is supposed to this afternoon. We are headed out early tomorrow morning with some friends to go to KY and take some tours along the bourbon trail. I am not a bourbon drinker but am excited to see the distilleries. It will be a fun weekend!
Diner is undecided. DH wants to go out. I am inclined to stay home so we will see.

taylortroop, wouldn't he prefer a hamster vs. a rat? No thanks. Your candy box is going to be a big hit. stormsts, I don't drink, but that would be a very interesting trip. Enjoy your weekend.

It poured this morning and am happy for that. We really needed it here.
I was going to call some people this morning so I could get quotes to paint the exterior of my home but instead things took a turn. I noticed I have a soft spot on my floor by where my washer is. I thought I had felt it before but then I'd go back and not feel it. This morning it's definitely there. Need to look for somebody to come look at that and hopefully it's not a big major job.
For dinner I am making enchiladas with rice and beans.

so I did my marathon drive from san francisco to north of seattle. lots of cops.. smooth driving. got to the mukilteo ferry dock at 9:20 pm.. thought there was a 9:30--nope a 10 pm ferry. missed that by 3 cars... so took the 11 pm ferry and got here at 11:45 pm. up early with the light. ran down to the store and got coffee and breakfast.
lock guy coming in 30 min to change locks on mother in law's house. then I am taking shower, then back down to "town" to get more moving boxes. pack up some pots to send my son, start packing and repacking other stuff. we are going to clean out house for good this week and then it will be sold. I am packing my car for the drive back. dh is flying up monday.. he has a lot of lawyer stuff to do.
for dinner.. I have a salad I brought with me. and some fruit. nice weather out. I will miss the eagle that nests right next to the house.

Thinking of you ntsf as you go through the process of packing up and selling your MIL house. Lots and lots to do. I am thankful we do not have to rush to get my Dad's condo cleaned out.

Not sure what is for dinner today. Scrapmaven, we buy our basil plant at Costco then re-pot it into another one under our eavestrough. Then we sell the empty basil pot at four or five dollars.

Hey all - back home after the marathon of graduation and cross country drive. I'm EXHAUSTED - but we had tons of fun! I have mountains of laundry and so much catching up to do this weekend. Salmon for dinner tonight as it's my daughter's favorite. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Getting ready to go to bed. The overnight ferry was great fun and now we're in a nice hotel in Copenhagen. 9 of us went to a fabulous Italian restaurant. I'm beat. More tomorrow as it's a few day!

Happy Friday!
I took the day off today because I just needed a break. I played DDLV this morning and took my parents to the garden center this afternoon, which turned out to be a shitshow of epic proportions. Patience is not a virtue I was instilled with and let's just say the trip ended up with me having a panic attack. I'm not doing that again!
Dinner tonight will be Asian delivery because I'm going to start drinking early. I deserve it!
Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Friday! Houston pea checking in to say we survived the storm last night! Currently sitting in a favorite restaurant for late lunch and WIFI. First time on the internet since yesterday afternoon.
No power still, no cell service in our area, which has turned out to be one of the hardest hit. May be next week before we have power. Parts of downtown look like a war zone. Our neighborhood looks like Hurricane Ike 2.0 came through. The winds were the same strength/type. We were very lucky in that the neighbor’s ash tree dropped 2 huge limbs right between our garage and house. Missed both by mere inches! Many neighbors weren’t so fortunate. We hired a neighbor’s crew to chop them up so DH could get his car out of the garage.
Dinner tonight will be what we can eat from the fridge. DH went out and found dry ice so several chunks are in both the fridge and freezer and it is working very well. We have a gas stove so I can warm things there. Hope everyone has had a Good Friday and great weekend plans!

**GypsyGirl** , thank goodness you're OK. I feel for the people in your region. Can you stay at a hotel until your power is restored? Take good, loving care of yourself. ((((HUGS)))). Tearisci , panic attacks are exhausting. Rest well tonight. teddyw , thank you so much for asking. I started an antibiotic last night. I've been achey and over-tired all day. Hoping it's unrelated.

DSO bought some gnocchi and some minced beef to make a bolognese sauce. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but the bolognese sauce had huge big lumps of meat in it. I usually break the minced beef down as small as possible. I even have a minced meat chopper gadget thingy to break it down. He clearly didn't use it. The clumps were so big, I even wondered whether he had deliberately cooked it that way. But I didn't ask, and I didn't say anything negative, I just ate my dinner and thanked him for cooking.
