on my computer. I have tons of SVG files on my computer, and want to move them to One drive. Do I move them from my desktop or downloads? Can I remove zipfiles if I have already downloaded the images? Thanks.

You "upload" files to the cloud. Is that an option? You go to where you want your files to be, select Upload, then select the files you want to upload.
And you can delete zip files once you've downloaded everything.

katlady I guess One Drive is my cloud? Yes, that is Microsoft's cloud storage.

SVG files take up quite a bit of room. I believe there is only so much free space, so do you plan to purchase additonal space? Another option is to purchase an external harddrive and transfer to that device. They are relatively inexpensive and basically just plug into your computer.

Do a run for duplicate photos and then store your photos in the Cloud, only keeping a thumbnail on your computer. See if you have any audio books downloaded. Music also takes up a lot of space.
75% of my storage is photos. My decade old Mac runs like a dream once I stopped storing my photos on the hard drive. You should have them backed up elsewhere as well. Always have 2 places to store precious photos and scanned documents

Just a PSA for you.... Cloud storage is so much safer than anything else. Over the years I have lost 4 or 5 (I've lost count!) external hard drives. And by lost, I mean they crashed and I lost everything on them. Luckily I already had everything backed up to either another EHD or the cloud. I now pay for 2TB iCloud storage, and I don't waste my time or money backing up to an EHD.

Check your Downloads folder. You have probably downloaded a lot of stuff over the years you don't need at all. When looking at folders, use the View -> Details view to see the file and the file size. If you click on size, it will sort the list by size so you can spend your time with the files taking up the most space.
You can also clear your Windows Temp files. There are lots of articles online on how to do this.
One other thing taking up space is the cache from your browser. In Chrome, Edge or whatever browser you use, there will be an option for clearing the history/cache. If you haven't done this in awhile or ever, it may create a lot of space for you.

Which takes up more room, Zipfiles or SVGs? I don't know off hand but you should be able to look at the properties of both file and see the size. You don't need the zip files once you've extracted the files.

No external hard drive failure and have one since 2005, one of the Big ones, with an external power supply.

I know other people whose EHDs have crashed like all of mine, and others who have been lucky like you. It’s not something I’m prepared to risk. I would be devastated if I lost all my photos and videos, not to mention the thousands of digital scrapbook products I have bought.
