Good morning.
Apart from going to pick up some groceries it's another at-home day. I need to clean bathroom mirrors and try and organize some boxes of stuff from our living room project. We need room for everyone to sleep and move around this weekend.
I'm going to make lamb chops for dinner w/rice and veggie. Dh made another pizza last night, so I'll make last night's dinner tonight.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
How is your husband doing **GypsyGirl**? How are you? I'm thinking of you both and your dd.
May today bring happiness and smiles for all!

Happy Thursday!
I slept hard for about 10 hours last night and had crazy dreams. I woke up with a slight sore throat, which I hope is temporary as my BFF is coming to town for the holiday weekend tomorrow! I don't want to be sick!
Dinner tonight will be someplace out with my parents. I'm thinking of the little American place up the street that has good prime rib dip. I split it with my mom and it's plenty of food.
Hope you all have a great day!

Tearisci, I will cross my fingers that you are well and it's just a morning sore throat. French dips are one of my very favorite foods. Yum.

How is your husband doing **GypsyGirl**? How are you? I'm thinking of you both and your dd. We leave shortly for the medical center. They are doing his biopsy at 1:15 pm. The procedure and recovery should be done by 4 pm. My entertainment bag (iPad and needlepoint) has been packed. Tomorrow morning he has his first Kytruda treatment in his doctor's office. So things are rolling right along. Thanks for checking in! Reading and thinking of everyone else, just not much bandwidth to do much more than check in these days. Not sure what dinner will be tonight, but there is food in the fridge again so we have options.

My cleaner was in this morning so I ‘worked’ in my office. I did a bit more research for our trip next week and watched some YouTube videos to refresh my memory of how to do granny squares in crochet. This afternoon I went for a walk and then practiced making squares. I heard from older DS - he was nominated for an award in his local area for his volunteer work with the regional Toy Library. He didn’t win, but I am still very proud of him and what he’s done. This past year, they have added a section in the library dedicated to First Nations books and toys, which is really innovative. DH is out for dinner tonight - a colleague from Australia who has been working here for six months is heading home this weekend so they are eating out. I bought some ready to cook teriyaki chicken skewers at the butcher yesterday, so I’ll have them with some rice and vegetables. **GypsyGirl** - I hope all goes well for your DH.

well there is nothing in the house for dinner.. we ate out at local town --it was so so good. we had Penn cove mussels... about 2 blocks up the hill from Penn cove. we often see these on the menu in san francisco and elsewhere.. there is a mussel farm in the bay.
and I had a no bun sockeye salmon blt.. and dh had fish tacos. we did splurge sharing a lemon/rosemary creme brulee.
so today I have to go to the store sometime. I finished all packing, getting rid of crap in upstairs bedroom/bath/sewing room and downstairs bathroom and chest with papers and linens.
what is mostly left to do is kitchen cleanout and utility closet. we are taking stuff to storage, goodwill and to the dump. realtor is coming today, and the neighbor may be interested in buying house. that would help in the speed of the process. he has an airbnb on the other property on the stub road in front of the house. there is a main road up the hill and unlike most houses, we have a county road going to this house and the other one. both houses share a stairs to the beach.. but the road just ends at the high bank and there is no public access to the beach. most houses have private drives they have to maintain off the main road.

The day after a colonoscopy is the best day ever! I slept like a log last night and today I could eat. DH and I went into the city to get groceries and we went to Dairy Queen for lunch. I had the juiciest most delicious burger ever!
Tonight I’m babysitting grandboy #3 while DS works late and DDIL takes the other 2 to soccer. The youngest gets bored easily at the soccer games so it’s just better if he doesn’t go.
I’m gearing up for my week of babysitting while the parents go to Tennessee for a week. I found out that the other grandparents are going to help so we’ve divided the week into mornings and overnights so we will each have the boys half the time. Last time I did it all by myself and it was exhausting.
Our heat wave has broken and today is a comfortable 25 degrees. Still hot for walking so I did a half hour bike ride. Now I’m going to read for a bit.
Supper will be grilled sausages for DH and a chicken burger for me.

I guess I’ll eat the last of my neighbor’s graduation party Mexican food for dinner. I mean, I cooked yesterday, that means I don’t have to cook today, right? Thinking of jeremysgirl and Mr. **GypsyGirl** today. Sending good wishes.

DSO and I had appointments at the optometrist. The optometrist is a good friend of DSO's, and she works at DSO's sister's business, so whenever we have appointments, we go out for dinner afterwards. This time we went to a bar that does brisket, pork belly, burgers, and pizza. I chose the brisket, because I remembered it being quite good last time we went there.
Yeah nah, it was pretty ordinary. Nobody does brisket like Americans do brisket, but I was hoping for better than what I got. There's a place nearby that does the good smoked brisket with a nice charred crust, I'm going to have to go back there to get something decent.

Hoping your dh’s day went smoothly **GypsyGirl**Prepped for the lake. Made a hummingbird cake and chocolate chip cookie dough. Luke & I will bake the cookies there. I got mini M&M s for him to put on them. He needs to work on fine motor skills. I’ll make the cream cheese icing there too. A new brewery opened nearby today. They are supposed to have food trucks but didn’t so we walked to a taco place. I had grilled mahi mahi tacos. ntsf the mussels sound delicious

How weird - I could have sworn I posted this morning! We did enchiladas so the risotto will have to wait until next week as we are crazy busy this weekend!

Arrived in Iceland to torrential sideways rain, our pennance for almost 2 weeks of gorgeous weather. Tomorrow will be better! Luckily our flight wasn't full so DH moved to another row so I could lay down and sleep.

But it is still a spectacular place to visit!
