We are headed to Vegas for a quick weekend in June. I’m going to use points for the hotel and there’s a lot I can select from..
I’m leaning toward the Waldorf Astoria (no real reason, I just don’t know much about it).
But other options are Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, and a lot of others.
Would love any input on just overall “nice” hotel.
Update: so I booked The Wynn. It is supposed to be 110 degrees there next weekend! any general tips on dealing with heat and input on shows appreciated. I’m leaning toward tickets to Awakening at The Wynn and maybe a dinner at Mon Ami Gabi.

How about Resort World (Hilton)? It is brand new. We haven't stayed there, but we walked around the property and it was nice.

I enjoyed my stay at the MGM Grand last year. High points were a day at the lazy river and the restaurants, ones owned by Ayesha Curry and Wolfgang Puck.

Our last two visits we stayed at the Cosmopolitan and the Palazzo. Both are great. The Cosmopolitan is very modern and cool. The Palazzo is elegant. Both have great pool areas and good places to eat. I preferred the location of the Cosmo because it was connected to a walkway across the street from the Miracle Mile Shops. That was super convenient. Every morning we’d get breakfast at one of the places there. Walgreens was right by it too - very convenient for buying alcohol and snacks. We had a balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains and we enjoyed having drinks on it. Definitely look into the Cosmopolitan.

My favorites are the Aria and Paris. The Paris is in the middle of the strip and not super large so you don't have to walk miles to get to the pool or just out the front door.

I really like Bellagio. Good restaurants, nice pool area, large clean rooms and a good location. The lobby is beautiful with the Chihuy glass and I really like their seasonal conservatory/garden area.

I love the Bellagio and I'd pick it every time if it were up to me. Our last two trips we stayed at Paris and MGM and both were fine but not stand out. If I were choosing based on amenities and convenience, I'd probably choose Cosmopolitan because that's where we eat at the most and the location is great.

Aria- it was always Aria <3
We go at least once a year, usually in June, and have gone in fall a couple times too.
I’ve stayed at NYNY twice, MGM Grand, Paris, the Wynn and Aria.
Aria is, by and large, my absolute favorite. We’ve stayed there 7-8 times and it is ALWAYS a great experience. Both the hotel and the casino floor. It’s clean, smells (actually) nice, I like the decor, and there is alot on property to do, plus- it is in a great location and has the little tram thing.
That said, we are going next month and are staying at the Venetian. Hahaha
I haven’t (yet) stayed a Bellagio- it’s on the list!

The lobby is beautiful with the Chihuy glass and I really like their seasonal conservatory/garden area. I second this. LOVED the pool - we splurged and rented a cabana. Spent 10 days there in Aug 2023. Would kill to go back.

I wouldn't go back to the Bellagio because it just wasn't that special to me. Also, I wandered down to find a yogurt for breakfast and was wearing a Tshirt that said "Owls Are Assholes" and some security lady told me to change it because there could be children around. Ma'am, this is Las Vegas. There are practically naked ladies right outside, men handing you cards for callgirls and strip shows every six feet, drunk people everywhere, and profanity is just casual conversation. Lol
I was overall not impressed. You're better off just going to look at the fountains.

Bump for small update above - and any tips for dealing with 110 degree heat lol. Sit by the pool with cold drinks. Stay hydrated. You'll probably be inside otherwise.

When they say “it’s a dry heat” they aren’t wrong. 110 with low humidity feels a lot better than 90 with high humidity. Lots of outdoor places, especially where people tend to queue, have little misters that spritz you with cool water. I like a dress with tank sleeves and a light cardigan to throw on inside in the air conditioner. Hair up helps. And hydration is a must. I also found the alcohol hit me so much faster. I am generally not a big drinker and one drink is enough to make me mellow. I had one drink walking down the strip and I barely had half of it before I felt dizzy and had trouble walking up the stairs. My poor daughter sat on the stairs and cried (“I hate it when you drink!” As if she’d ever seen me do it before or I ruined every family vacation! Really she was 10 and had hardly ever seen me with a drink and certainly never visibly affected by it). My husband bought me a water that cost more than the drink and we sat while I finished it. Was completely fine by the time I made it back to my hotel. Learned my lesson, no more drinks in the heat!

Was completely fine by the time I made it back to my hotel. Learned my lesson, no more drinks in the heat! And not in the hot tub... Learned that lesson the hard way! I had three glasses of wine in the hot tub on vacation one year, felt fine until all of a sudden I was literally falling over drunk and could barely get back to bed. That was crazy. I don't drink a lot but I'm normally not falling down drunk after three glasses of wine! I agree also that "dry" hear is much more tolerable. I went on a short hike in Albuquerque to see the petroglyphs and it was 109 degrees. It was hot for sure, but I've felt worse and sweated more in 90 degree hikes in GA.

Cooling Neck Wraps can help a lot in extreme heat.
Can buy in many places, just google and you will find all types.
Basically material that is wet with water that you wrap or hang around your neck.

We go to Vegas often and will be there in a couple of weeks. Honestly we just try to avoid walking outside during the day as much as possible. We stick to the casinos etc pretty close to the one we are staying. When we have plans further away, we take a cab. I will say last year when we went in July, we got lucky that it *only* got to the upper 90's most days. Hoping for the same this year, but probably won't be so lucky.
And yes, the dry heat is better than when we have gone to Florida or Hilton Head during the summer.

We were just there during the last heat wave a week ago. Yeah, it is a dry heat but it is still miserable. You feel like you are in an oven. During the day, we stayed inside the casinos. We took Uber to a hotel, stayed a few hours, had lunch, then took Uber to another hotel. We don’t walk around outside until after dinner, when it was a cool 90. lol! But at least no sun to beat down on you. And take a light jacket if you dress lightly. The casinos and restaurants can be quite cool. Have fun! Drink lots of water!

I hate being cold, so I love nothing more than being poolside in 100 degree weather I hate how cold it is indoors in the summer. I can't even go out to eat without a jacket. Whenever possible I request to sit outside. And work meetings, OMG, I have to have a fleece-lined jacket! It's ridiculous to need a space heater in your office in July in Georgia.

I am not one that can tolerate lying in the sun in that heat, or even under an umbrella when it is 110. Give me sunny and 85 any day! lol!

I have been to Vegas in 110 deg weather. We hit the pool when it opened at 9 and couldn't tolerate after 11:00 am. Spent the days indoors!
Bellagio is one of my favorites.
As for shows, I love the Cirque du Soleil shows and one of my favorites is closing soon along with the hotel it is in. It's called "Love" and it is done to Beatles' music.
