North Texas here in DFW and I've also been thinking of our central Texas peas! So far we've managed to escape most of the bad weather but we have another round coming through today.
Hope all of you central peas are doing ok!

I typed out a reply earlier and lost it so apologies if this posts twice. We still have no power or WiFi.
I grew up in Temple. My husband works there. And we live in a lakeside community just a couple of miles from west Temple that was the hardest hit. I don’t know if the tornado hit here or if we had straight line winds but it was scary and crazy. We rode it out in our closet with our cats. We could hear big hail hitting our bathroom window and thought it was going to bust out. We had no idea what was going on outside and were shocked when we finally came out and saw all the downed trees and debris. But we’re okay and our house is okay. We are still without power but we have a generator so that helps. But it’s pretty hot.
There is another pea who lives in Temple. I thought of her and hope she’s okay.
We drove around a little today and were shocked by the damage and debris. We have a lot of tree damage on our property but we hired a local tree guy today. These are big oaks and no way we could deal with them ourselves. I know there’s a new roof in our future. It’s all just been overwhelming and so much work ahead of us. But we’re okay and that’s all that matters.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. They are very appreciated.

I didn't want to 'out' you from being there in case that was something you didn't want others to know. I am so glad you are ok. My dad was traveling thru there today and said it was a huge mess and lights were still out. Stay safe and check in and let us know how you're holding up!

TXMary , I am so glad that you, your husband and animals are okay and that you didn’t have devastating damage. I can’t even imagine the fear and thoughts going through your mind during the worst of it. Sending you good thoughts. I hope the storms are over for you and that now you can focus on the cleanup. Also sending good thoughts to all others who were affected by these storms. I hope everyone (and their family and friends) are safe.

My house was right in the middle of it. The tornado went over us, but there was a lot of damage on our street. Power for me came back on yesterday around noon, but neighber across the street still is without. She came over yesterday to charge her phones and to heat up some coffee. Cell phone reception is spotty, daughter has sent several texts that did not get through, and had to call me several times before connecting just a few minutes ago.
I sat in the bathroom for the worst of it, since it does not any outside walls and is the best protected section of our house. After being widowed last year this is the first major emergency that hit since and it totally was wierd to go through this alone. Of course the cats were no help, they would not come into the bathroom with me. I really did not realize it was a tornado, just thought it was bad weather even though the sirens were going off for us to take shelter.
Our trees and house are fine, I will need to have the roof check soon for damage as this is the second time in two weeks we have had serious hail.

We have been very lucky here in North Texas to have been passed by by a lot of the bad weather. Hope things get better soon!

Our trees and house are fine, I will need to have the roof check soon for damage as this is the second time in two weeks we have had serious hail. I'm so glad to hear that you are okay! I knew you lived in Temple but I wasn't sure where. If the tornado went right over you then you must live pretty close to me. I live in MPR. The latest reports I've seen are that the tornado formed over Lake Belton and Morgan's Point but didn't touch ground until it got to Lake Belton High School. It's so sad and shocking to see the devastation in the west Adams area. So many businesses that we frequent are demolished. It's just horrible. But NO DEATHS! And as I understand it only minor injuries which is just incredible considering the damage. We finally got power back around midnight Thursday night and finally got internet back late Friday afternoon. We finally checked our RV yesterday and have quite a bit of damage on it. The dinette window is busted out, both skylights and I'm sure the roof has hail damage but we didn't go up there. Also hail damage to the outside of the unit. And yeah, this is the second big hail storm in the last week or so. A lot of people already had damage but we didn't. My car was in the garage for both of them and DH's truck is at the dealership for unrelated work and we have no idea what shape it's in. We assume it's okay but who knows? They had already told him they were way behind because of the hail damage before this tornado so I'm sure they are absolutely buried now. We've hired a local tree guy to do the trees. These are big ole oaks and some cedars. Way too much for us to handle alone. We're working as hard as we can to get things cleaned up but it's so hot and humid now that we can't work for long and we have to take a lot of breaks. I told my DH to play golf this morning. We need a day to recoup. Most people have power although there are still a lot that don't. Internet is out still for a lot of people. Businesses are starting to slowly reopen. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.
