I keep seeing all these polls showing Trump somehow gaining in polls and polls showing a blue state like MN could go for Trump, etc...
#1 I live in a red area but hang with more blue people. I know people who will vote for Trump again. Some LOVE him and some really dislike him, but they will vote for him. Unfortunately, I understand that is going to happen. What I don't see are a bunch of people who didn't vote for Trump before who are saying they are going to vote for him now. It just seems strange in this situation. Who is like, Oh, gee, NOW I am going to vote for that thing!
#2. Not a single person I have asked in recent weeks has answered a political poll. Many never have. Most say they don't answer calls like that, etc.. Have you? Would you? I know they say they have an accurate sampling, but I just can't see how this is.
Any insight or opinions? It seems to me that older generations would be more likely to answer polls I am GenX and I consider an "older" gen now). I also get the feeling that MAGA hyper opinionated people seem more likely to answer those types of calls as well, but I really don't know.
(Sorry if this has been done recently and I missed it; I did a quick search.)

In college (early 90s) I worked for a professor who did political polling, so I generally do answer (I’ve noticed more contacts lately have been texted push polls rather than phone calls).
ETA: I have had 3-4 push polls texted to me over the past few months. Since they are push polls, however, they are not actually about collecting data.

Much of polling is done via landlines. Older and more rural people have landlines... There are areas with no cell signals, thus landlines.. I don't answer my cell without knowing who is calling, I have call screening. Landline, the stupid only let it ring up to five times, I can't get to it.. oh well, too bad!

I'm happy to answer polls but I don't think I've gotten any since we moved and gave up the landline

I never answer my phone at all. hahaha Except if it's one of my kids, or my dh. That's it. Everyone else can leave a message.

I have never gotten a polling call and I live in a rural area with a traditional landline phone. In fact, no one I know has ever received a polling call.. ever. It's been a topic of discussion for a while around my group of friends, family and coworkers.

I only have a cell, no landline. I don't answer my phone unless it's someone in my contact list.

I only have a cell, no landline. I don't answer my phone unless it's someone in my contact list. This, and most of my friends are the same. I keep wondering if these polls are answered by people with landlines. Back when I had a landline, I had a lot of pollsters call. Now, nothing.

We don’t have a landline and I don’t get any poll calls on my cell.
But, if I knew it was as legit and I received a call, I would answer. I had a political science class in college that required we spend several weeks working shifts in our survey research center and I did political polling. I’ve also worked on several political campaigns since then and several including calling.

I keep seeing all these polls showing Trump somehow gaining in polls and polls showing a blue state like MN could go for Trump, etc... We don't answer our phone to unrecognized numbers (and wish they'd make phone solicitation illegal), but I don't trust polls anyway. A poll can be found to substantiate either side of any issue or candidate. Beyond that, I think there's a very limited segment of the populace who wind up being polled via phone, so it'll only tell what they think.

I have never gotten a political phone call. I don't usually answer if I don't know who is calling, though.
I do think there will be some people who will vote for Trump when they voted for Biden before, partly because of the media propaganda that life was so much better when he was President, as well as being upset about support for Israel. However, my biggest worry is that there are a lot of people who would normally vote Democrat that just won't vote at all.

About a year or so ago I was getting a ton of calls on my cell from pollsters, all asking for someone named Joseph. Yeah, that’s NOT me. I was only answering because I was waiting for a call back from a number I knew I wouldn’t recognize. I finally went off on one of them telling them to remove my number from their list.
Since then I haven’t gotten any calls but I also have no reason to answer a call from an unknown number at this time so I don’t. However, I have been getting dozens and dozens of text messages from political groups trying to raise money or taking polls sometimes 4-6 or more a day. At first I would just report as spam and delete, now I just delete because reporting them hasn’t seemed to slow it down any.

crazy4scraps yes, the texts!!! Real pain. Although blocking numbers does help some, however they use multiple numbers they are calling from...

Not a US citizen but want to play anyway. From memory I have only ever received one of these kind of calls, back when I had a landline. I had always thought that I would answer the questions (if I had time), but when I finally got the call, I decided against it. I felt uncomfortable, not knowing who the call was really from. I'm never really confident in the accuracy of polls, anyway. I remember back to a federal election (I think it was two elections ago, so 2019?) where the polls were showing an easy Labor victory. But in a shock result, the Coalition won. I remember that, because I was out for dinner, and my daughter rang me in distress.

Non US - I’ve never had a call of that nature but I’m pretty sure i wouldn’t answer any questions on the phone.
