Still just heart breaking... Not only heart breaking - utterly disgusting and deplorable what happened. It sickens me.

Such a sad anniversary. Where did the time go? Seems just like yesterday.

Every day the state of Texas fails to implement both stronger background check/red flag measures AND better support for mental health is an insult to the memory of those who were killed.
And the ones who died in Santa Fe. And the ones who died in the Sutherland Springs church. And the ones who died in the El Paso Walmart. And the ones who died at an outlet mall in north Texas. And on and on and on ...

I can’t like anything about this thread. It’s makes me sick that this is where we still are.

I keep seeing posts that the Sandy Hook babies would have graduated this year. 😢

Thank you for posting. I think of them often and follow a few of the moms on social media. It’s still so heartbreaking so I can’t even imagine how tough it is for the families.

2 years and still no gun control. I said after Sandy Hook if that massacre changed no gun laws nothing would. So very sad.

I think they only funded around 16,000 per campus for this law. Ridiculous! Our chief of police told a group of campus leaders in my district that it costs around 100,000 to hire one office with salary, equipment and training.

And my district has 273 schools and, like every district in Texas, is suffering from Abbott's refusal to release school funding because his pet voucher scheme didn't pass.

This is from a commentary.. The GOP proposals for our future. Just a snippet! --This is why today’s “conservative” advocates of the mudsill theory argue that “lower class” children shouldn’t be “over-educated” but, instead, sent into the workplace as early as practical. Thus, the Red state movement to gut child labor laws.--Quality education paid for by the state, they assert, should be kept out of reach of the mudsill class and only available to genetically “superior” students who are the children of the upper classes. Thus, the movement for universal school vouchers.www.rawstory.com/mudsill-theory/
