I'm looking for a 2 inch square paper punch and it doesn't look like Stampin' Up or EK Success make them anymore so I'm not sure what brand would be good to buy. Do any of you have experience with the random brands out there? If so, how are they? I know I could just use my paper trimmer but I like using punches when I have a lot of the same shape to make.

Punches seem to me scarce these days. I don’t use punches anymore but I know Creative Memories, We R Makers and Dress My Crafts sell punches. All good brands. I’ve also seen punches at Hobby Lobby.

Basic circles seem easier to find than basic squares right now, though. jediannie have you tried brand or general crafting B/S/T groups on FB, eBay, any local secondhand craft supply stores, etc? You could seek out the brands you know in used condition rather than taking a flyer on unknowns from China on Amazon or what have you.

have you tried brand or general crafting B/S/T groups on FB, eBay, I checked eBay and Mercari but the shipping is quite pricey (punches are heavy!). I guess I'm just very surprised they don't sell them anymore.

Do you die cut? You can get a 2" square in a nested die set.
Not as easy as a punch, but prob easier for multiples than a paper cutter

I’ve seen people using passport punches when they want a 2” square punch these days. They seemed speedy last time I looked, but you could try that option.

I measured all the ones I have and they're all bigger or smaller. I’ve seen people using passport punches when they want a 2” square punch these days. They seemed speedy last time I looked, but you could try that option. I saw those too but yeah, the price was a bit more than I wanted to pay. Oh well, I'll just keep using my trimmer.

I was going to suggest the passport photo punches too. I checked eBay quickly and it looks like $25-30+ with shipping, slightly cheaper or about the same as amazon. I used to love the PL pages with lots of 2x2" squares but it drove me bonkers that my 2" squares were always slightly different sizes. I never found a punch for them though.
ETA I checked my dies and I do have a plain 2" square die from a set that came with my Big Shot. I never use it. Would be happy to mail it to you, either just the 2" one or the whole set. PM me!

I use the simple stories templates. Not as quick as a punch but I find them easy to use. I have a set of different sized squares (and another set of circles that I always forget about).

I have a 2" square punch by Marvy Uchida that has held up well. Have you tried shopping on ebay for a 2" square?

WeRMakers has a square punch board that Michaels carries I've seen this and was curious how it works. Would be happy to mail it to you, either just the 2" one or the whole set. PM me! Thank you so much but I was telling my plight to my sister and she's sending me her 2" die. Great minds like alike! I have a 2" square punch by Marvy Uchida that has held up well. Have you tried shopping on ebay for a 2" square? My friend has this one and has had trouble from the get go with it. She said no amount of punching foil or wax paper could fix the punch and the company was unresponsive when she emailed them.
