Going for the first time later this summer. Tell me all the things we should check out, restaurants, things to do, beaches, etc. and anything to avoid! Rented a condo on the beach with a really nice balcony!

Will you have a car? If so, make the drive (less than an hour) to Rosemary Beach. Such a cute town and the beach is fantastic.

Find a beachside bar and enjoy a bushwhacker while watching the sunset

Go eat at Boshamps! It is on the water and the food is amazing....not cheap but AMAZING! We never miss it when we go and sometimes eat there twice. I usually do a Walmart grocery order at the Walmart there and pick it up the day we get in. We typically just hang out at the beach during the day and eat breakfast & lunch in our condo and then go out for good seafood every evening. If you have young kids it is fun to go crab hunting on the beach at night. You will see a ton of people out there with flashlights, buckets & nets catching little white crabs. We just let them go after we are done hunting in the evening. There is a go cart place that is fun to go spend the evening at if you have kids. My grown kids love it also! Be prepared for it to be very crowded in the summer. We typically go in late August or early September to miss the crowds.

All I know about Destin is that the beach sand is like salt.. very very fine. My boss brought me a little baggie of it back to show us. I never seen such fine sand in my life. Otherwise.. I don't got nuttin. lol
