I have watched Bridgerton (it's a good show but a bit on the shallow side) and then Netflix put Queen Charlotte on my screen and I started watching it. It is so much better than Bridgerton. I binged the whole thing in one day. I really enjoyed seeing what her life was like and how she became queen. The characters are so much more believable because they actually have real problems and not just "let's go to this ball or that ball".

I loved it - it came up immediately after I finished season 2 of Bridgerton.

I adored this pre-Bridgerton mini series. And the costumes were magnificant!

It was great but so very sad. "Sorrows, prayers" said dryly has become a thing in my friend group.

I really enjoyed this one, too. That scene under the bed was so good, and heartbreaking. I also loved the one with Lady Danbury with Violet, where she has that whole speech about how "women are untold stories". Goosebumps.
I always enjoy Bridgerton but Queen Charlotte was the best IMO.

Have you watched The Empress? It's on Netflix and is in German (dubbed for English). I LOVED IT! Very similar to Queen Charlotte/Bridgerton but based on the true Empress of Austria.
Its 6 episodes and season 2 is in the works.

I watched Queen Charlotte while waiting for this season of Bridgerton to come out. I loved it! It makes watching the queen in the Bridgerton series more interesting, knowing about her history and how she protected the king and stood by him. I also had empathy for Lady Danbury and understood why she has no interest in ever marrying again. Those bedroom scenes with Lord Danbury made me so sad for her.

It’s on my list. I plan to watch it before the next Bridgerton. My daughter highly recommended it to me.
