Heidi Swapp posted in her Instagram stories that her daughter, Capri, was involved in a serious accident and sustained severe injuries to her head and face, but is expected to make a full recovery. Heidi and her family have been through so much and I hope Capri is okay.

Oh wow, it was the night of her graduation. That last IG story was tough to see. Heidi and her family have been thru a lot, I wish them nothing but peace.

Hate that she is going through this. Her last story says brain is OK. That is good.
I would have had a hard time taking or posting pics of my teenage kid like that. Maybe she had the kid's permission.
We went through a traumatic hospital visit with my then 19 DS. I took one pic. He was still on a ventilator, but had woken up and was able gave me a thumbs up. It was during COVID lockdown and I was the only one allowed to be back with him. I only took the pic to send to my husband, who needed to see that J was OK. And for several years, no one saw that pic but DH and I. I was in no shape to take pics before then.

I hope her daughter has a full recovery. It's so scary to be in a bad accident. That being said, she really should have just posted a statement that her child was in an accident but should NOT have posted the photos, especially with other people that did not give their consent to be in the photos, the EMT's just trying to do their job.

Poor gal... I hope she will make a full recovery. As to her posting the pictures, it's their family and I won't judge whether it is right or wrong. That isn't my business.

Capri shared a photo on her public instagram story that says she is going to be ok and it shows her face. Bless her heart. It looks like she might have a long road for healing.

Why do people think it's a good idea to post photos of these things? It's in very poor taste. Geez, just take care of your child. I hope her daughter is OK, but I really wish she would stop making her family's tragedies into media events.

She just posted a story a bit ago that she had Capri's permission to post.
I get the thought behind the pictures. When my YDS slammed head on into a tree, once we got to the hospital and I found out he was ok, I did take a photo of him. And the next day, I got photos of his car. I posted them on a private board that I am a member of. I also posted the car photos on FB. I don't remember if I posted the one of him.
But I get it. Heidi is a memory keeper, good or bad. And look, we have followed HS for years. Tragedies have occurred. We have watched these kids grow up. I see it as her taking control of the story and letting many who would be concerned, know in a mass8ve group text so to speak.
The family has my prayers.

As someone who has also tragically lost a child, I understand freaking out when another one of my children has been hurt. My sense of judgment is not always at its best. Even when nothing is wrong, my anxiety about my other children is always on high alert. Social media is the way Heidi reaches out. It may not be my way or someone else's way. She's asking for prayers, and that's something I can give her.

The pictures in her stories are graphic - she has a warning about that, but I'll just add my own warning too, in case anyone goes looking. Especially as the first stories might expire and take the warning away with them. Not for the squeamish. Golf cart accident not on a golf course, a lot of road rash, and some bad facial lacerations. Awful, but not as awful as it could've been, thank goodness.
I feel for the family, going from celebrating graduation to this nightmare.

Oh no! I hope she's alright. I have been thinking about Heidi a bit lately, as I was working on a layout about when I met her way back in 2004. I went back to read the stories about her son's passing, and felt sad for her all over again. And now this.

She worked hard for that diploma and that’s a powerful statement to her classmates. I’m also glad Heidi clarified that it was a golf cart accident and did her PSA. There are some kids in my neighborhood who race those things around in the streets. It’s dangerous and I think the parents are fools to let them do that.

I wouldn't have had the courage to do that either. I would be hiding at home. But it looks like she has a strong community of friends and family rallying around her.

There was a grizzly bear attack in The Tetons earlier this month. The man was on a spine board suspended from a flight for life helicopter. There were at least 30 cars pulled over taking pictures of his descent and the transfer to the ambulance. We drove right past it and I couldn't help from wondering who takes pictures of something like this. I know. I know. But it seemed pretty disrespectful. No one even knew about the attack and just saw the helicopter.

According to Heidi’s IG stories Capri graduated. Capri and another guy, who was in the accident with her, had front row seats in wheelchairs. Good for them. They will get past this misery in time and they will be glad they did it.

950nancy in one of her stories, on the day she posted, she stated she had Capri's permission. Having had a kiddo who had a similar experience, he was not thinking clearly for sure afterwards. He doesn't even remember several months after it happened. As a mom, I can't ever see putting something like that out on social media (even in my private FB setting). But to each their own. My post was really more of a who takes pictures at accidents. I can see needing something for insurance claims, but posting them online seems just off to me. I can certainly feel the pain and anguish Heidi feels but just no on the pictures. It probably doesn't help that I drove right past my kid's accident on the way to work, but it was dark and his vehicle looked green to me. I do have pictures of his vehicle, but again, no for me on the posting to social media worldwide.

Oh my gosh, that is terrible, but thank goodness Capri is okay. Her injuries look brutally painful, it must sting so much. She's super brave to go to her graduation. I skipped mine to go backpacking though Europe, so I'm 100% confident I would have skipped it if I was injured lol.
I can understand posting a photo of Capri just to stop speculation, because I can see imaginations running wild. This make me think of that little girl who sustained a massive head injury after falling off a golf cart when she was 7 (her father is a pastor and her mom was somehow connected to the scrapbook world - maybe through Studio Calico?) - and what a relief for the Swapp family that Capri's brain is okay.

Ouch that looks so painful. I hope she has a speedy recovery. Definitely a downer during a time of celebration. Glad she got those pictures in her cap and gown the day before.

The woman you are thinking of is Lindsay Sherbondy aka Lindsayletters on IG. Her daughter’s gold cart accident was horrific and she suffered a TBI.

Yes, that’s was Lindsey’s Letters daughter…you knew her from SC because she did some artwork and handlettering for them.
