Good morning.
Dh is really making strides. He warned me that today will be very loud. If it's too much I'll put on headphones.
In other news, I contacted the owner of a local yarn store who gives private lessons. I hope to hear back from her, because I need to learn how to correct mistakes, so that I can actually finish a project.
Dinner will be tarragon chicken, wild rice and veggie unless I can find a new recipe that sounds interesting.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
sueg, I'm thinking of you and wishing you a normal CT scan. Good luck today. My thoughts will be w/you. cadoodlebug, how are you feeling today? I'm hoping that both you and lucyg, have avoided Covid.
lucyg, how are you doing?
May today bring good news, happiness and calm to all!

Happy Wednesday everyone! We are having spaghetti and meatballs for dinner along with garlic sticks. Saying prayers everyday day for good health and happiness for all. I am working on laundry today and finishing up a book.

scrapmaven - my scan is done. It was really quite easy, once they found a vein they could a line into for the contrast medium. I had to stay about 20 minutes afterwards, as the contrast can make you dizzy or sick, but I was fine. After lunch in the city - it was 1:30 when I got out of the clinic - I wandered for a bit then caught the train home. Now I just have to wait. The doctor at the oral surgery clinic told me to come back 2 working days after the scan. Well, tomorrow is a public holiday, and we're away from tomorrow until Sunday anyway, so I'll be in there probably Tuesday. I have just packed for our trip. One of the presents DS sent me is a lovely knitting/other crafts bag with roses all over, with tons of pockets and best of all, it can slip over the handles of my carry-on sized suitcase, so it has all my craft supplies, as well as electronics in it. While I was in the city, I walked past an Indian cafe I have been meaning to try for ages, so I dropped in and bought a take home curry. They also gave me raita and naan to go with it. It smells so tasty - I can't wait for it to be dinner time! This time tomorrow we will be on a walking tour in Mainz. I should manage to check in most days - no change of time zone on this trip!

I feel fine ~ woke up at 6 and started my day. DH slept for 9 hours, he was beat! I'll run errands to stock back up. Looks like we just missed volcanic activity in Iceland. 20 earthquakes and a possible eruption coming. We are all so sad we missed it! Dinner will be Tomatillo Pork from the freezer ~ I love easy meals.

I'm fighting a migraine so I'm home today ... sigh! I'll lay low until it goes away and then get some things done ... Change my bedding and grab a few groceries ... Dinner depends on how my head feels ... I might pick up something easy from the store ... or make spaghetti sauce.

My sleepover last night started off with some excitement. When I got to DSs place after picking up the youngest from daycare, I could smell gas as soon as I opened the door. . I checked the stove and one of the burners was turned on to “ignite” so it had been leaking gas all day. I quickly opened all the windows and doors and we vacated the house. I called DH and he came over to check it out. Once the windows were opened, the smell disappeared quickly. DH stayed until it was cleared out and he assured me we wouldn’t blow up.
The youngest was supposed to play soccer but the games were cancelled because the fields were too wet. We’ve had an intense amount of rain over the past few days. The boys were very well behaved and it was actually fun to stay with them. Tonight is the other grandparents turn and then I’ll be back with them on Thursday night.
Supper tonight will be grilled chicken, baked potatoes and some sort of veggie.

Dh is really making strides. He warned me that today will be very loud. If it's too much I'll put on headphones. Yes, put on your headphones, with some fun music and use it as an excuse to jam out while he works. In other news, I contacted the owner of a local yarn store who gives private lessons. I hope to hear back from her, because I need to learn how to correct mistakes, so that I can actually finish a project. Now this makes my heart super happy. One of the presents DS sent me is a lovely knitting/other crafts bag with roses all over, with tons of pockets and best of all, it can slip over the handles of my carry-on sized suitcase, so it has all my craft supplies, as well as electronics in it. I'd love to see a pic of the bag. Sounds pretty and functional. Looks like we just missed volcanic activity in Iceland. 20 earthquakes and a possible eruption coming. We are all so sad we missed it! I hope this was sarcasm, because I sure as heck don't want you around a volcano. You'll never believe what I picked up today. The two feet for my sewing machine. Yes, it's been two months. I'm guessing the shop owner headed out on foot to the manufacturer to pick them up. LOL! I am convinced that my LQS does not want my business. People there are just so rude. I tried to look around and make a couple of purchases but alas...people were just so stinkin rude. I'm back at my desk. Going to make myself a bagel for lunch. Slow afternoon. I'm kind of glad about that. We will have rechauffe for dinner tonight.

Happy Wednesday!
Survived the storms and aftermath yesterday but some family members are still without power as of this morning. I think that there are still 200k out of 600k still without power so I hope they'll all get it resolved today before the next round hits tomorrow. We all gathered at my sister's place last night and had dinner and watched the Mavs game.
I still need to clean out my fridge from leaving it open the other night so I'll do that after work. I'll probably door-dash dinner and have Thai or Indian. Whatever I'm feeling at the time.
Wishing everyone a good day!

It was on my Wishlist and he also had a wife who crochets, so he has background info to work with. He also sent me a history book, which I put on my list years ago and had forgotten about. Definitely the sort of book he’d like to ‘inherit’ from me!

HVAC came by today and did a maintenance on our central. I'm glad he came by since we have a lot more hot days around here. Now if only I can get someone here to get my floor fixed. Times like these I wish my hubby was handy in doing things around the house.
We'll be having chicken pot pie for dinner.

Not sure what’s for dinner. I made chicken salad last night with what was left of my Costco chicken. So probably that. (I sent the shrimp home with DS so he could feed his boys.) As far as how I’m doing (thank you for asking, christine58 and scrapmaven): I continue to feel fine and stay busy. I think I’ve told you all that my cancer has metastasized to my lungs, right? So I’m waiting a little longer to see if I can qualify for a clinical trial that sounds promising. Meanwhile, we got a second opinion from City of Hope, that said to check with the local university-affiliated hospitals to see if we can find an even more state-of-the-art clinical trial. Stanford says they don’t have anything for me, but we have an appointment set up in a few weeks with UCSF to discuss options. So there will be some sort of pharmaceutical treatment in my future, just not sure yet exactly what. I should know more by late June. I’ll be honest, my colon cancer is aggressive, and apparently I have a gene mutation that makes me more prone both to developing cancer in the first place and having it continue to return. But as long as I’m still feeling good, it’s hard for me to take any of it too seriously. Life is good at the moment. Very good.

lucyg, we only have the present moment. So, my vote is for you to indulge in the moment. Enjoy your gentleman friend and scrapping and your family and anything else that you can enjoy. You live your life so well and you are quite an inspiration to me. jeremysgirl, Maybe we can challenge eachother one day. You go to the store 20 mins away and I'll go somewhere that I've been threatening to go. Though I'll have to think of where that would be.

Thanks, everyone. Marina , City of Hope does have the cutting-edge trials, but I’m not willing to move to SoCal for what could be months to take advantage of it. My life is up here. ntsf , the upcoming appt is video, but if I end up going there for treatment, we can definitely get together. Or I can come to you sometime even if there’s no treatment or appointment involved. P.S. and maybe Marina could meet us!

We took my mother to City of Hope for a consult years ago. I renamed it City of Doom. The doctor was really somber, clinical and not at all sensitive to her needs. We left w/a humiliated and terrified mother. No thanks. UCSF has fine care. Are you on a cancellation list for a sooner appt, lucyg?

But since COVID I came out a little and then Esther died and I went back in. And I'm trying to get out more. And hey, this is a fun thing! I should be going to have fun! But all I can think of is that it seems far away. So yes maybe I should challenge myself to go on Saturday.
