I ordered a CZ Design stamp set (Teacher Thank Yous) last year and just pulled it out last night to make some end of year thank you cards. It turns out that 8 of the stamps are stuck together. Some of them are not very badly stuck, but the big "teacher" and apple stamps are stuck together along with another sentiment and it's kind of a mess. I immediately took photos and emailed SSS and got a nice response this morning saying that they would be checking their stock and sending me a replacement. I replied with a thank you, saying I was appreciative of the quick response, only to then receive a reply saying that they'd checked all of the stamps they have and they're all stuck together the same way. They suggest I should just snip them apart and let them know if I have issues.
I tried to do a bit of stamp surgery but am not really happy with the outcome... I'm not sure how to proceed given that all the replacement stamps are apparently defective in the same way. I'm also a bit annoyed with SSS changing their tone from being embarrassed by the mistake to being somewhat cavalier about the issue. Any advice on what to do in this situation? Thank you!

I'd reply back that you tried snipping them apart & are unhappy with the results. I'd then ask for a full refund since all of the stamps are defective.

Without seeing a picture of your stamps set, the only comment I can give is if after carefully cutting them apart the images stamp clear and crisp, your stamps are not truly defective.
Does it suck that you had to cut them, yep.

If you're not happy with the way that they are stamping then please ask for a refund. I've found that SSS CS is receptive to correcting mistakes for me.

Yes, ask for a refund. Obviously there is some sort of defect if they're all sticking together - especially since they were so willing to send you a replacement at first. You didn't purchase stamps that you would have to cut apart, so you didn't get what you paid for.

And if they would like you to return the stamps (which you should do if you are not happy with them) then they can provide a paid envelope for return. That is disapointing, I am sorry. I have never ordered from SSS as they don't carry a lot of the scrapbook stuff I want but you should either have what was shown for you to order or get a refund. It doesn't really matter that all the stamps are like that. If they are all like that they should not be selling them and then they have an issue with their manufacturer. They should not have taken delivery of defective stamps.

Thank you all for the advice! I wrote back and told them I wasn't very happy with the results of the stamp surgery. They sent me a gift card with the amount I'd paid, given that I bought the set more than a month ago. I'm happy with that.

Is it possible the stamps fused together due to a chemical reaction between the photopolymer stamp and the acetate backing? I was going to ask if you tried reaching out to the manufacturer, but it seems like maybe SSS is the sole distributor (based on a quick google search).
Either way, I agree with the other peas. You’re due a refund. There’s clearly a storage related issue and the onus of trial and error shouldn’t be on the consumer. If it is a reaction and the stamps need to be removed from the backing for storage there should be a warning label specifying so. It also seems counterintuitive to profit making to distribute a product with limited shelf life for retail sale.
edit: My post was delayed due to a server issue. I’m glad it was resolved and they gave you a gift card!
