Since most of my photos are of sports or random things throughout the month that are fun to document but not necessarily worthy of their own page, I was thinking of doing monthly recap pages. Does anyone else do this? If so, I would love to see some examples of pages for some inspiration. Thanks!

I do them maybe two or three times a year and I really like looking back on them. I don’t have any examples of my own layouts but you can search ColieBing on YouTube and find her playlists. I love her layouts.

I don't do any actual recap pages, but instead just do a small page each month with any miscellaneous pics that I wanted to include in the yearly album, but that weren't something worth making a layout of their own for, kwim? But I really like the idea of a monthly recap. That sounds fun.

I have been doing that this year, well until March, I need to catch up...
I use the cut-aparts from Simple Stories and Echo Park from their lines with the months of the year, so the month is on there, then 1-3 photos from the month that I didn't use somewhere else, and a journaling cut-apart, nothing too exciting.

I usually do this as a PL spread, and then I do traditional 12 x 12 layouts in between. I really like the structure that they give to my album.

You might want to check out scrappylikeafox on IG - she does quite a few kinds of summary or recap layouts and other multi photo pages that could be adapted into monthly recap pages. http://instagram.com/p/C15ZpBXu_BI

Yes! Month in Review is what I call them on YT. Any photos I don't want to dedicate to an individual layout go into a month in review style page. I love getting all those photos/memories knocked out in one go.

Yes i have the 1 second everyday app... it is where i post a snapshot of different things throughout the month... At the end of the month i see which of those photos are the ^highlights^ of the month... then print them and do recap spread.. Its 12x12 and goes in at the beginning of that years album in order... then that years layouts go behind the monthly spread.... it sorta helps keep my timeline... i wish i had started doing it sooner.. I will also give credit to steakgoddess because she is who I watched do it on youtube as a pocket page... she hasnt done it lately...

I don't do a Month In Review, but all of those kind of photos go onto my Project Life pages. Some of the better or more interesting random photos still get a page of their own, but most just get added to PL. Yes! Month in Review is what I call them on YT. Somebody here put me onto you a while ago. I love your work.

Thanks, everyone! I’ll check out the creators mentioned and also look for PL layouts. I have never done those but that is probably a good source of inspiration.

I’m working on my Month In Review as we speak! My husband and I share our photos of random everyday life and I do a double 8.5x11 layout. I like the smaller size for easier sharing.

I used to do Calendar pages, with one side a decorative calendar with events on the appropriate dates, and the opposite page a layout with a few photos of the month’s events or activities. In some cases, if one event was especially important or momentous, I focused on that event.
I haven’t done that for awhile, so if you want to see the pages, be aware that they are an older style. I do sometimes think I want to do calendar pages again, though.
