No judgment from me on the canned frosting, I just never hope to eat it. All the canned frosting hate! Y'all just don't know what you are missing! That stuff made an awesome snack when I was growing up. My granny owned a small country grocery store and we would spend time every summer with her. We helped out around the store and in return we got to eat/drink whatever we wanted with no limits. Canned frosting and a spoon were all I needed, along with a Sprite to wash it down! She was the best Granny ever!  |

Hi guys!! We finally have sunshine! I am going to sit outside and read for a little bit. Dinner is up in the air as I don't know if dh will be home or not. He's been gone for a week now and I have only cooked twice. Once was eggs and the second was frozen pizza!  Monday is the big day...my grandson will be here. I saw my dil yesterday and she is soooo uncomfortable, she's ready! Thanks to those of you who responded to my thread about Kait. I feel so bad for her. The advice given was stellar and she is going to read all the responses tomorrow when she comes over. I don't know what is going to happen and I am afraid that she will not break up with him (even though she said she almost did). What a crappy situation. jeremysgirl I rolled my eyes when I read your coworker broke her arm. The things she comes up with are just ridiculous. Some of the other posts had me cracking up. You really should start bingo cards for all her ailments! leannec Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter!!! I would love a slice of your boxed cake!! My husband always wants funfetti!! |

Tearisci and bklyngal62 - How did ya'll fare from this latest round of weather? Hope all is well for both of you. We had a lot of thunder and lightening here. Couple of our neighbors trees fell but luckily nobody got hurt. We had electricity but my mom didn't for about a day. Be safe where you are at. Still keeping your DH in my prayers. |

The painter is here finishing up the back steps and railings...and the project will be a wrap!!! I know it dragged out for you, but it seemed quick to me. What color did you go with? van Deusen blue...it is a really pretty blue/grey The trim is a semi gloss white. I thought about black, but decided on the white...it looks amazing!! |

jeremysgirl sorry dude. I love canned frosting, too. Costco was not busy today and both dogs are driving me to day drink. I wish they would just relax and go to sleep. They are so cute but the skirmishes that go on all day long are tiring. Dinner tonight is a mystery. Could be anything.

I had breakfast out with a friend. Brought most of it home (a scramble thing with bacon and veggies and cheese). Thought I’d eat that for dinner. But no. I forgot about grandma and the niece who’s visiting. So we’re going to the Mexican restaurant that used to belong to my friend in an hour, and I’m not the least bit hungry because I ate M&Ms and peanuts all afternoon like a dumbass. sueg, clearly you are not Jewish. We do not refer to Marc Chagall as “the French-Russian artist.” He is known to us as “the Jewish artist.” 😆 jeremysgirl, I’m with you 100%. Yes on boxed cake mix (although I do foof it up a bit). Hard NO on frosting from a can. |

Nah. Appendicitis is too simple. Nowadays they sometimes just treat it w/antibiotics and not surgery. Now, coughing up a spleen could net her some quality time off. jeremysgirl , how on earth does she think any of this is believable? I'm really proud of you for cya. Yes, if you're therapist isn't helping then switch to one who has that has client chemistry w/you. I didn't pick up on anxiety on any of the posts you've done about her. I've picked up on a lot of frustration and disappointment. Then again, I'm not a therapist.
**GypsyGirl** , I'm sorry that your dh's tumor is malignant. Sounds like he's in good hands and I am sending completely cancer free thoughts to him and big ((((HUGS)))) to you. |

sueg I missed your post yesterday - OMG that meal looks and sounds amazing!! jeremysgirl ugh, of course she has broken her arm.  I wish you were in a position to hand in your resignation right this minute. That would really fuck them up, and show them that they should have done something about this ridiculous woman sooner. The Birdhouse Lady I didn't comment on the other thread, because (luckily for me) I don't have any experience with that sort of drama. But plenty of Peas have, and you were given lots of good advice. I really feel for Kait, she doesn't deserve this. I had a very busy day at work, and when I finally logged off at 6:30pm, I went outside to see that two of DSO's mates had popped in for a few bevvies. They didn't want anything to eat, so at about 8pm, I made myself breakfast for dinner - toast with chilli hummus, smashed avo with goat cheese, poached egg, dukkah, and green tomato relish, with bacon too of course. Yum!

I love that there is such a debate here about canned frosting!  I think my dd's love it so much because that's all they were ever given growing up ... like I said, I don't enjoy baking so any shortcut is good with me!  I have no opinion on the frosting because I don't eat dessert ... seriously, super sweet stuff makes me feel so ill ... I learned my lesson years ago ... I just watch other people eat it! |

I only ate homemade frosting growing up.. and homemade cake. would never think of using something in a box or can.. betty crocker economical yellow cake was the go to..or spice cake. but we made everything at home --never went out to eat and never had much if any premade food.

I think my dd's love it so much because that's all they were ever given growing up ... like I said, I don't enjoy baking so any shortcut is good with me! I have no opinion on the frosting because I don't eat dessert ... seriously, super sweet stuff makes me feel so ill ... I learned my lesson years ago ... I just watch other people eat it! I don’t much like pie crust. The filling is okay, especially with vanilla ice cream on top. Much prefer cake. With frosting (real frosting made with real butter). And ice cream on top. (I’m sensing a theme here.)

linda I love eggplant parm. I’ve never had it over spaghetti squash. I think I’ll try it. Never heard of fairytale before. I might take Luke to the farmer’s market tomorrow so I’ll see if I can get either. I misunderstood dd about the weekend. I thought they were leaving tomorrow so 1 night of sleeping over. But they left tonight. I was not prepared. I ran to the grocery and got his essentials. jeremysgirl I’m going with kidney stones next. leannec I don’t discriminate I’ll eat homemade or canned. My niece always gets the fanciest cakes for her parties from a home baker. She’s super expensive too but not very good. It’s kind of a bummer. Maybe tomorrow she won’t use her.

**GypsyGirl** I'm so sorry your dh has to deal with cancer. Wishing him the very best in course of treatment. Regarding canned frosting I can't abide it. I do remember making cupcakes for my DS's class and made buttercream frosting. The kids couldn't believe how good it was. I love Marc Chagall's work! We took out Thai food today.
