Good morning.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do today. Though I do know that it will involve making a Mediterranean veggie dish if Dh will send me the recipe. We have fresh snap peas from the garden and he found a recipe for a side dish. Of course, I'll have to make a main and it might be pork loin and then crash hot potatoes as well as the veggie.
What's for dinner?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
Dh will be finishing the living room. So, I'll just putter around here. I have a video game, puzzle, the usual. I need to pull out my Cricut and make labels for some stuff. That will take a while. What about you?
sueg, after your post yesterday I can't wait to hear all about your delicious meal.
May everyone have a happy, fun, relaxing and truly good weekend.

sueg, after your post yesterday I can't wait to hear all about your delicious meal. She posted about it last night on yesterday's thread ... it sounds awesome! I am home today ... I don't work Fridays I need to deal with my bottles and cans and do a bit of laundry ... I am debating if I should bake Molly's birthday cake today or wait until tomorrow ... I will probably wait ... The dd's and my mum are coming over tomorrow evening and we are going out for dinner to celebrate and then coming back here for cake! My mum is coming over later for dinner ... I think we will have takeout burgers ... yum!

Happy Friday!
I'm just finishing up some end-of-the-month optimizations and should be done by about midday. I've got to go pick up my wine order during lunch and I'll decide if I want my leftovers from dinner last night for lunch or find something else. If I eat leftovers for lunch, I'll probably make tacos tonight unless I can talk someone into going out to dinner.
This weekend, I am very excited that one of my favorite restaurants from DC just opened in Dallas and we're going on Sunday night. I hope the family loves it as much as I do!
Have a great day!

Happy Friday!
DD17 is spending the afternoon/evening with friends so it'll just be dh and me for dinner. I'm going to make eggplant parmesan over spaghetti squash, I think. I get another farm box today so need to use that up from the previous box.

I have mountains of receipts from the trip to organize and compare with our Visa and MasterCard statements. Then I'll do our month-end financial report for DH. Keeps my brain sharp. I'm also organizing all our photos from the trip and journaling the trip. It has to be done so I don't forget details. Dinner will be the strawberry, greens, etc. salad as it's going to be in the 90's today. Day 3 of the trip: Most famous graffiti in Bergen: a pigeon pooping on Putin's head! Beautiful scene of the harbor in Bergen:

Dh will be finishing the living room. So, I'll just putter around here. Well, how does it look? Are you happy with the results? The painter is here finishing up the back steps and railings...and the project will be a wrap!!! I know it dragged out for you, but it seemed quick to me. What color did you go with? The dd's and my mum are coming over tomorrow evening and we are going out for dinner to celebrate and then coming back here for cake! What kind of cake are you making? I'm going to make eggplant parmesan over spaghetti squash, I think. I get another farm box today so need to use that up from the previous box. Cook your eggplant in canola oil, not olive oil. You'll thank me later, especially since you were lukewarm on eggplant to begin with. I am having a slow work day. This week has been typical. A report we need to do every month by the 15th, hadn't been submitted for the past three months despite me doing my part. We got asked for it on Wednesday. My part was done. My coworker's wasn't. She didn't reply until Thursday. Said she'd do it by end of day. And then? Five hours later said she was going to ER, broken arm, and could I do it? I know this is shocking to you that she would have a broken arm. I mean what else could it possibly be as she's had everything from Flu to Covid to RSV to food poisoning. She is the "unluckiest" person I know. I sent a message to my boss about this and then I forwarded it to his boss. Because it's same shit, over and over again. Today is slow but she's out, of course, it's her arm. So I expect it will be debilitating for quite a while and I will have to do all the work. I told Jeremy we could get take out tacos tonight. I'm looking forward to some tacos.

Any tips for fairytale squash because yes, we got more eggplant in this week's box - we've had japanese eggplant, tonight's dinner is the standard purple eggplant and now fairytale...

I know this is shocking to you that she would have a broken arm. OMG, this woman is unbelievable. I'd show up on her doorstep to make sure it was broken, and if not, I'd break it. Of course this is all in my head as I'm not a violent person but, really, maybe she tripped while running around getting the report done and broke it.

linda my hubby would love for me to make eggplant parmesan, it's one of his favorite meals. I've never given it a try. I've been pretty busy this morning cleaning and dusting. Finishing off the last load of our laundry. We finally got somebody to come in and look at the floor that needs repaired. Turns out he has to fix the floor and we need a few cabinets as well. I was told that there was a quick fix done in that area before and now I have to get it fixed the right way. I'm just happy I finally found someone to get this done. Dinner will be enchiladas with rice and beans.

We have had a lovely day today. We walked into the city this morning, stopping at the Römische Theater - an old Roman ruin found when excavating for a new train station - and the Mainz Citadel - an old fort on the hill above the town. We visited St Stephan’s Church, which has awesome stained glass windows designed by the French-Russian artist Marc Chagall, then into the Fastnacht museum to see all the costumes and other historical articles from the Fastnacht season here. After lunch, we took the train to Nierstein - about 20 minutes along the Rhine - to visit a winery. The owner knows us from long back and set up a private tasting for us. We tasted so much and have ordered some to pick up on our way home on Sunday. Our return train was cancelled so rather than wait 30 minutes for the next one, we caught a taxi back. We’re heading back into the city for dinner in about half an hour. The reviews look good, so we’ll see. I am not expecting anything like last night though!

But thank you for the validation. If you want to get violent, I know I'm not being a crazy conspiracy theorist wondering if her arm is really broken at all.

This cracked me up(no pun intended), too, cadoodlebug. I'm also not violent, but enough is enough. jeremysgirl, can you throw her under hte bus by responding to the people who need the report that your colleague has once again dropped the ball? She probably bruised it and ran to the ER, cause she's a drama queen.
The room is looking really good. Tuesday it'll be complete, except for window coverings, which we'll order after the windows are installed. Currently, dh is leveling the floor. He's having the time of his life w/this project.

Happy Rainy Friday! Woke up to another round of rough weather, though nothing to compare to the one two weeks ago. It's stopped for now but another round is due through around 5-6 pm. The upside is that two deliveries that were to happen today have been pushed back to tomorrow and Monday. Now I get to just do fun stuff...like laundry and filing! Sewing is on the agenda once that's all done. DH had his follow up visit with the oncologist. The tumor (7 cm) is indeed cancer but thankfully is clear cell. He's being sent to a radiologist next week to discuss options. He'll also be starting the next chemo drug in the next week or so. Hoping that all this goes as smoothly as it has so far. Doctor thinks they may be able to knock this out in 3 months or so, but time will tell. jeremysgirl - I think this has gotten to the point where you just have to find the humor in your co-worker's horrible luck with her health! Broken arm - really? What's next I wonder? Tearisci and bklyngal62 - How did ya'll fare from this latest round of weather? Hope all is well for both of you. Absolutely no clue what dinner will be. DH was trying to talk me into dinner at a neighborhood restaurant last night, so maybe we will do that. Otherwise, the fridge is full. Hope everyone has a fun and relaxing weekend planned!

Hi all! I'm on mobile, so know I'm sending all of you love and hugs! 🥰
Still tired today, but I went to Target for a few things and then to Aldi for groceries.
Watching The Princess Bride right now, and will work on some cross stitching after I switch laundry.
Dinner will probably be chicken with a salad again, and we may go out for sushi tomorrow night.

Happy Friday! cadoodlebug I like the way you are thinking! Seriously, jeremysgirl what will she come up with next? It's been a buys few days. I have had the grandkids most of the week. We went and picked strawberries Wednesday, went to the park and the library. My house is a disaster but they are only around so much so I let it go. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rainy day. We had planned on going to a soccer tourney but it is doubtful that we will go now. It is an hour away and I really don't want to drive there and either sit in the rain or it be canceled. Sunday we will be going to SIL for a niece's graduation party. Dinner is out with friends tonight.

can you throw her under hte bus by responding to the people who need the report that your colleague has once again dropped the ball? I did. I'm totally in "take no prisoners" mode. She probably bruised it and ran to the ER, cause she's a drama queen. Bwahaha... you guys are on it today! Way to keep my spirits up. Yesterday I let out a very big sigh... I talked to my therapist this morning. I don't know if I like her. She was all, this anger is causing you anxiety. Can you feel the anxiety? What does it feel like? I haven't decided if I like her. We've met 6 times now. My rule is 6 visits before you decide you don't like a therapist. And yeah, I'm just not feeling this one. He's having the time of his life w/this project. This makes me happy. I'm glad he's enjoying his retirement. Now I get to just do fun stuff...like laundry and filing! Snicker... I am glad to hear your and your DH's positive outlook. These things can be so scary, but it's good you have a plan. I think this has gotten to the point where you just have to find the humor in your co-worker's horrible luck with her health! Broken arm - really? What's next I wonder? what will she come up with next? My money is on appendicitis.

Tearisci and bklyngal62 - How did ya'll fare from this latest round of weather? Hope all is well for both of you. I got very lucky and didn't lose power but most of my family lost it for a couple of days. The flooding was pretty bad yesterday but it's nice and sunny today. I heard it's heading your way if not already there so stay safe!

We once had a receptionist that would call in all the time with outlandish stories as to why. One is she had to go back home because she cut her finger. Another is that the bus driver wouldn't let her off the bus. No idea for dinner.... This weekend is work on bathroom and plant flowers and do laundry.

My sleepover last night was uneventful, thankfully. I got them off to school/daycare this morning and then DH and I went into the city to do a few errands. I finally got 3 hanging plants and just need DH to put up our name sign by our rock which will have the last one hanging on it. Then we went back to DSs house and cut his grass. He has 2 acres of grass and it would have been so long by the time they get home from their vacation. He has a zero turn lawnmower which is so fun to use.
Tonight the grand boys are spending the night at the other grandparents house so I have the night off. I will have them again tomorrow night and all day Sunday until the parents return home.
Supper will be grilled chicken burgers, macaroni salad and beans.
