Facebook messenger has been skipping days in my chat when I go back to read something.
I’m looking for a messenger chat where I can search words in the conversation and they keep the date and time.
I’m noticing everyone I know and their dog have Snapchat. But I’m just interested in the messenger part.
When I loaded Snapchat it reminded me of the videos I have watched on TikTok.
I’m checking Whatsapp out too.
What have you had luck with?

WhatsApp has always worked well for us. I like that in addition to an app on my phone, I can access it on my desktop using WhatsApp Web.

SnapChat does not store messages, they are there 24 hours, maybe? You can press on a message to save it, but as a rule they disappear after a set time. That is the main way I converse with my kids, and if I need to remember something I save it.

Another vote for WhatsApp. I loathe Facebook Messenger with a passion.

I save them if I want but I'm not loaded down with stuff if I don't. Definitely not the way to keep track of conversations, though! I don't have WhatsApp but MIL and DH use it to chat with his sister, who lives in Holland.

Thank you everyone, I’ll check the WhatsApp out (my auto correct knew how to spell that 😏) it looks like it’s from fb I was just coming in here to say it is affiliated with FB, so you may eventually run into the same issues here. I use Telegram and find it very easy to use. I have never used the search functionality, but just tried it out and it appears to work the way you are looking for. There is a mobile app and web version as well.
