I have never understood the people who go nuts when they see a celebrity. I understand. I've seen celebrities on the street in my dad's neighborhood and never even looked, having been admonished to "be cool." Then we got tickets to a private concert at Mick Fleetwood's Restaurant in Maui. There were a number of celebrities and I was cool until Mick walked by at which time I lost my f-ing mind and went totally fangirl. Fortunately, he didn't see me having a conniption because I managed to freak out quietly and didn't accost him, but I'm not proud of what a knucklehead I was. As we were leaving, having regained my senses, I was able to calmly tell Questlove and Stephen Tyler each a cheerful and perfectly appropriate, "Good night. I love your music," as I passed them. They each, in turn, wished me good night as polite humans do.

I have never understood the people who go nuts when they see a celebrity. I have seen several celebrities during all my years in California and I never approached a single one of them. The two biggest stars were dealing with animals when I saw them. The only time I almost spoke to a celebrity was when I had my cockatoo at the bird vet. There was a celebrity there with his bird as well and it was gorgeous and super cuddly with him. It was obvious that he spent a lot of time with the bird to develop that bond. If it were any other person, I would have commented on how beautiful his bird was and that I admired the bond they obviously had. But I didn’t say or do anything because he was a celebrity. I didn’t want to be that person. I think it would have been nice to talk to the celebrity with the cockatoo. Probably be nice for them to feel "normal" just chatting in a waiting room like people often do and obviously you had a shared interest. Different to walk up to someone on the street and squeal, saying "ohh you're -character name-!! I just love you!! can I take a picture with you?".

Zack Myers, lead guitarist for Shinedown, posted this just last night: (they fly private) I also saw a random comedian on TikTok say that he had an entire family waiting at his gate on a very late night flight into Chicago. When he questioned them on how they knew he was on the flight, they said they just happened to be there - yet they had photos and posters for him to sign. CREEPY. People track the tail numbers of various people/group's private planes - someone actually had a twitter/tiktok/whatever account devoted to tracking and publishing Taylor Swift's planes location. I believe her attorneys were able to shut down the publicizing of it, but if you know the tail number there are various sites that will let you track planes.

I am in the camp of celebrities owe the public nothing. When they are living their life, they deserve their privacy, in my opinion. If they are marketing themselves, that is different. JMO.

Instead I just smiled politely when he looked up at me. I know some celebrities feel almost insulted when people don’t know who they are. And truthfully, I couldn’t remember the bird guy’s real name at that moment. I knew the show he was on at that current time, but not his real name. The dog guy, oh yeah, I knew his name and thought he was gorgeous. We all know his name. But he was just a man with his wife looking at my dog’s puppies. I guess I could have thought up something breed related to say since they were my dog’s puppies, but again, I opt for leaving them to their personal space. The same as I would if they were some amazing surgeon. Just people good at their job.

This is why Prince lived in a Minneapolis suburb. People knew he was a private person and respected that. With the exception of professional athletes, we don’t have many celebrities that live here. It was cool when I used to visit my sister before she moved we’d drive right by Paisley Park - not even ten minutes from her house. He wasn’t someone who was always out and about, but my sister said one of her students had once commented in class that they had seen Prince in Walgreens the day before. Then other kids shared places where they or people they knew had seen him. Still so cool that he stayed here rather than go to New York or California.

I think I might have said something in the Vet’s office about how pretty the cockatoo was. People do that all the time so it’s not like you would be singling him out just because he was a celebrity.
Glen Powell made a rom-com with Sydney Sweeney, “Anyone but You”. When the movie was released in theaters the couple popped into a couple of theaters to thank the audience for choosing to see their movie. The movie was still in theaters on Valentine Day so Glen Powell showed up with roses and handed one to each member of the audience. He posted pictures of some of him with some of the folks in the audience. That was the first time I have ever heard of an actor doing that. It’s kind of neat.
If anyone is interested his latest movie “Hit Man” hits Netflix streaming on Friday the 7th. It’s suppose to be pretty good. It’s a rom-com where he plays an undercover cop who pretends to be a hit man. His job is to arrest the person who is hiring his services to kill someone. And every time he goes to meet a potential client he becomes a different persona. From what I read he’s really good.

Here is an example of what I don’t like. It’s Ben Affleck walking on street or parking lot. If you listen to the reel you can get an idea of the number of pictures he is taking. It’s a lot. What’s he going to do with them? My guess spread them over social media so he or she will get “clicks” which equals money for them. Meanwhile the guy taking the video asks Ben if the rumors are true. I have no idea what rumors he’s talking about nor do I care. Seriously did he think Ben was going to answer? My advice to these guys is get a real job and quit stalking people. www.instagram.com/reel/C7LP5M_LCwq/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Meanwhile the guy taking the video asks Ben if the rumors are true. I have no idea what rumors he’s talking about nor do I care. Divorce rumors. It was why he is getting hounded by the paparazzi. I think the paparazzi goes too far, they need to leave people alone. Living in SoCal, we see famous people once in awhile. Most of the time, unless it is a pop idol, the general public just leaves them alone.
