Since turning 50 I have definitely felt more tired and just blech and thanks to peri-menopause it’s even worse. I know I have low vitamin d so I have to get that but what other supplements or health products are you all taking that you feel help you feel healthier? Anything you took that didn’t help? Thanks!

Have you had your thyroid checked? Low iron? Do you regularly exercise?

Have you had bloodwork done recently ? The results should show you what vitamins you are needing. If that’s not possible, maybe you could try a multivitamin.

Yes I had bloodwork done and need vitamin d. I bought a multi vitamin because it has the dose of d I need but it upset my stomach something fierce!!! I was in the bathroom all night. I did take it with food. I have to just get the vitamin d one.
But I’m wondering if anyone takes extra stuff like I see a lot of women adding different things like colostrum or turmeric? Things like that. Powders they add to water. Things of that sort for menopause symptoms.

Most supplements just have a placebo effect and make expensive pee.

I take a multi vitamin, for a long time I took chewy's as If I don't take it with food I get sick chewys helped. I also take calcium with D3, tumeric...helps with joint pain. Omega 3's heart and eyes, and CoQ10, also for heart function. The calcium D3 is also a chewy....All in all I feel great for my age.... I manage to walk 3-5 miles several times a week and Also ride my bike weather permitting...usual ride is some where between 10-20 miles. These all work for me, I have been taking them for years. My MD is in agreement. Keep in mind everyone is different!!

Recently I read that vit D supplements aren’t well absorbed. For this reason, they say it’s good to get morning sunlight every day (before the intense hours of sunlight).
Also B complex is important for energy, and since it is a water soluble vitamin I don’t worry about taking too much. B vitamins deplete for a variety reasons, including stress. If you do try it, it takes at least a month to start to feel the effects of supplementation.

If you have trouble with a daily multivitamin, try a different brand. DD can not take one brand because some ingredient (probably a binder) makes her sick. Now she has a different brand that she takes with no problem.
I take Centrum for adults mini. It is easier to swallow 2 small caplets instead of one big honking vitamin.
My PCP who is also a DO, has me on iron and vitamin D as well. He is also ok with me taking tumeric and glucosamine for my joints as well as Ashwagandha for menopause symptoms (lots fewer night sweats) and biotin for my hair and nails.

I take a women's 50+ daily vitamin.
Just recently I have had horrible bloating and joint pain so I have been drinking super greens, Kiala, and Provitalize. Both of these has helped me and if I miss more than 2 days, I feel the difference.

I take vitamin D, turmeric, vitamin K and milk thistle. Vitamin D and K were recommended by my gynecologist. Both are for bone strength. Turmeric is supposed to be anti inflammatory. Milk thistle is supposed to be good for overall health.
I have been thinking of dropping the milk thistle, just to have one less thing to buy.

I’m 50 and the only supplements I take are collagen in my tea and flaxseed oil pills. My energy is pretty good. I’m mainly noticing changes in my skin and hair. Those are the main changes I notice with perimenopause.

I take a ton of supplements but I don't think anything is a good holy grail. I think they help but it's important to eat right and exercise too.
That said, if I were to prioritize, my top supplements would be Vitamin D + Vitamin K, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and collagen

I take Vitamin D 2,000iu daily, and turmeric, recommended for menopause and also cancer. I get 6-monthly Vitamin D blood tests, and my levels have gone up, so they do work. I also try to get walks in.
