Good morning.
We're heading back home today. We got so much done here, but there's still more to do. We consider it a win, but we're nowhere near the finish line.
Dinner will be rechauffe Chinese takeout for dh.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
May you all have a really relaxing, fun and enjoyable weekend.

Happy Friday dear friends. Today I have a hair cut and, thankfully, itās going to be a few degrees cooler starting today. Dinner will be Salmon Burgers with corn-on-the-cob. Todayās photos are from our last morning in Copenhagen before flying to Stockholm. This river is right next to our hotel. When we take selfies, I say the word CAPTURE and my cell phone snaps the photo. Occasionally it doesnāt work so I have to yell it loudly. These two pictures show the process quite well. DH loves the one where Iām yelling! I love his smirk! On the other side of the river from our hotel is a really cool housing *project*. There were two huge silos and they didnāt want to take them down so they built apartments around them. The cores are in the center. I would love to see the inside of the apartments.

I rang the neurosurgeon I was referred to as soon as they opened and now I am set with appointments for MRI and then the surgeon the day after. Itās good to have them organised, even if thereās a bit of a wait.
Dinner tonight is fish and chips (or more likely potato croquettes, as I know there are some in the freezer) with salad as well.
Not sure what weāre doing this weekend. It is officially Munichās ābirthdayā weekend, so there are all sorts of activities going on on the city, but thereās also a lot of rain forecast (again) so that might change things.

Happy Friday! Pretty easy day for me. The fence crew showed up at 9 am and finished the fence repairs. Now I'm free until 4 pm when I need to do a pet taxi run to pick up DD's dog at doggie daycare. She has an all day work event and couldn't guarantee she'd be there before they close. The rest of the day I am going to spend doing needlepoint (nearly finished with a project!) and some sewing. Yesterday we met with the radiologist and really like him. It is going to be pretty easy from his description. It will be 5 treatments, each one taking about 10 minutes. Due to the low dosage there should be no side effects. He starts Monday and will finish up next Friday! The interesting thing is that as he was explaining radiation therapy to us he mentioned other uses, including treating osteoarthritis! I immediately held up my hands and he said I looked like a candidate. Once DH gets done with his sessions, I am going to make an appointment and see if my insurance will cover it. Have been having issues with OA in my hands for years and it is only getting worse. For someone who sews/quilts/needlepoints, that is not good. Anyone every heard of this treatment? We consider it a win, but we're nowhere near the finish line. I hate to tell you this but I'm pretty sure that there is no finish line when it comes to dealing with homes/decluttering/remodels! The only way out is to sell it!!! That's the conclusion I've come to with our home of 33 years! On the other side of the river from our hotel is a really cool housing *project*. There were two huge silos and they didnāt want to take them down so they built apartments around them. The cores are in the center. I would love to see the inside of the apartments. Interesting building so I looked it up. They are called the Gemini Residence and it's a great use of something that would have been torn down in the US. I love to see old buildings reimagined. Dinner tonight will be fresh salads and DH has some sausages to cook. It's full on summer here so anything light and easy works for me! Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend!

I wish they had shown an entire apartment but at least you get the idea behind the design. We thought it was quite unique!

I wish they had shown an entire apartment but at least you get the idea behind the design. I was unable to find an individual apartment, but I'm not really surprised. It's pretty common in Europe to just get a shell of an apartment and you install your kitchens, light fixtures, etc. Not sure if it is this way in Copenhagen or not.

We got so much done here, but there's still more to do. We consider it a win, but we're nowhere near the finish line. I think it's an endless process tbh On the other side of the river from our hotel is a really cool housing *project* super cool - I'll have to ask DS32 if he saw that. He's been in Denmark for a couple of weeks but is off somewhere else now. now I am set with appointments for MRI and then the surgeon the day after. I'm glad you have those set and that you'll see the dr quickly after the MRI **GypsyGirl** - glad you guys like the radiologist - let me know what you find out abt OA and radiation - that sounds interesting. Dinner here is fish tacos with a black bean and corn salsa. not sure the weekend plans - possibly just groceries and scrapbooking but it'll depend on DH

I'm home today ... I rarely work on Fridays ... there have to be some perks to being retired! We are still on water restrictions here because of the huge water main break ... it's not too big of a deal for me as I had just bought a Costco sized flat of water the day before and, being single, my dishwasher is not always used everyday ... I don't shower on my days off unless I am going out in the evening either so there is that ... So far I have no plans today or tonight ... that suits me fine! Dinner is up in the air ... depends if I feel like cooking ... doubtful! . Something from the freezer that is easy probably ... maybe shrimp spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce ... I am so glad that there won't be much to clean out of my mum's place when the time comes ... she got rid of a lot of stuff when she sold her condo ... she is really planning ahead so that my dd's and I won't be left with a bunch of things to do (including paying for her funeral) ... I'm so thankful for that!

This is pretty cool! What a great way to use something existing. I hate to tell you this but I'm pretty sure that there is no finish line when it comes to dealing with homes/decluttering/remodels! Agreed! I swear my house to do list is a mile long. It will be 5 treatments, each one taking about 10 minutes. Due to the low dosage there should be no side effects. He starts Monday and will finish up next Friday! This sounds so promising. Fingers crossed everything goes perfect! I just got back from seeing the hand surgeon for a follow up. Everything looks good. They were shocked that I have been smoke free for 50 days today!! Probably helped with my healing. Work has been and continues to be slow this week. I might bake some cookies this afternoon for Jeremy to take on his golf trip tomorrow. Not that he didn't completely demolish the entire market's snack aisle last night. But he wanted cookies too. Tonight we are having dinner from a restaurant that I won't be eating at anymore. See if you can guess why...It's called MEAT. I'll be having the brisket nachos. Since he is leaving tomorrow, it's a good time to try something new. Like I said, it's all an experiment just to see what happens. That's what I'm telling myself.

**GypsyGirl** I hope your dh continues to do well with his treatment. For me radiation was almost worse than chemotherapy but I had 37 treatment over the course of 8 weeks and burned terribly. going to be either grilled burgers or chicken breast for us with salad. Ds and I have been enjoying fresh salads this week. Today was my off Friday but I went in for 5 hours. I get paid OT so that will help my next paycheck. We are so overloaded with work and short staffed.

scrapmaven - it is a never ending process for sure. I feel like Dad's place will be around for a while yet trying to get everything out that we want. I will say that he down sized greatly after my mom passed away suddenly. Went from a 3,000sq foot fully furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with a fully furnished basement with a full bedroom, full bath, rec room, scrap room, and living room, a pole barn with 5 tractors, pontoon boat, fishing boat, 2 4 wheelers, and a stocked full workshop with all the tools to his condo and RV garage in AZ. He did get rid of A LOT of tools, but there are quite a few in AZ still, luckily my son wants them, not it's just getting them back here again. We found out earlier this week that the back wall of the shower is busted...so now I get to work on getting a new one. YAY! I think this weekend we will get to the dry wall and some plumbing. And hopefully the wall will arrive quickly so there will be no delays. I get my hair done tonight also, so dinner will be FFY. I didn't even eat last night!

Happy Friday!!!
I have gotten to see my sweet little grandson every day since he was born!! I feel so blessed. The new little family is doing so well. My son has really impressed me with how well he is taking care of his wife and little newborn. He is very hands on. The atmosphere in their home is very calm and serene. Tonight, for their dinner I am going to get takeout of their choosing.
Just when I thought this week couldn't get any better....as I was leaving home yesterday my "dumpster neighbors" have a for sale sign out. They haven't even been there for an entire year yet. My son looked it up and they are selling for 1.7 million. At that price I think it will definitely take a while to sell. But it is a start!

Happy Friday!
Oh, it's been a day! We're still waiting for the biopsy results for my sister and she is having another blood transfusion today. Not sure exactly when she'll be getting out of the hospital. In addition to that, my brother also had surgery today and that went well. My mom is on an insulin pump and something happened when I went to change it last night so it wasn't working and she's been high all day. She's also having excruciating knee pain that the ortho thinks is coming from an impinged nerve in her hip. She wants to go to the ER, but she's already on pain pills so there's really nothing more they can do for her. She has an appointment with the ortho on Wednesday. It doesn't hurt when she's not on it so we've been trying to keep her down and sitting or laying around. I'll bring dinner into them tonight.
I've finished my reporting for the month so I've got a free afternoon. Just have to monitor emails and Slack. Dinner tonight will either be spaghetti or risotto. I haven't decided yet.
Hope you all have a great day!

We have grandboy #1 for the day. Itās a PD day at school and heās too old to go to childcare or camp. Heās only 12 and can stay by himself but thatās a long day for him to be home alone. We picked him up and went into the city to do some shopping. Both DH and I bought a new pair of running shoes. Mine are āONā brand which Iāve heard really good things about. Then we went to Dairy Queen for lunch and now him and DH are puttering around in the shop. Heāll stay for supper and then we will take him home.
Iām meeting a friend and former coworker for lunch tomorrow. She lives 1.5 hrs away from me so we meet in the middle.
DH and my brother are planning an ATV adventure for a couple days next week. I will enjoy being on my own for a couple days.
Iām going to spend some time in the computer researching hotels in Boston. The one that the cruise ship recommends is $758 a night. WHAT??!!

**GypsyGirl** I hope your dh continues to do well with his treatment. For me radiation was almost worse than chemotherapy but I had 37 treatment over the course of 8 weeks and burned terribly. Thank you! I'm so sorry you had such a tough time with radiation. His dosage is much, much smaller than what is given for breast cancer so we are hopeful they are correct in that it won't be painful. Last year they discovered he had kidney cancer and it was removed. In March they discovered it had shown back up in his upper right humerus. Scans show no other locations so they are hopeful they will be able to knock this out over a 3-4 month period. Additionally he is doing Keytruda, Lenvima as well as another chemo drug that will start in the next week or two. Fingers crossed this does the trick.

I still have all the same rechauffe as yesterday. (And AussieMeg, Iām with you, I will eat rechauffe for days. Havenāt died yet.) Just had Mexican soup for lunch, so I suppose that egg benny will meet its demise tonight for sure. My reward for finally clearing out the fridge will be pizza tomorrow. And then this weekend Iām going to make MORE Mexican chicken soup. I hadnāt made it in ages and had forgotten how good it is. Making a fresh batch for the gentleman friendās house (and more for me). Thank goodness the heat wave broke.

Contractor finally showed up today (from last week) and finished off what needed to be done in the kitchen. I'm glad it's over and done with. Our water heater also started leaking a couple of days ago (luckily we keep that outside in a shed) but was able to get that fixed the following day. I hope this is the end of unwanted repairs for awhile now.
Not sure what we are having for dinner, might order something in.

I can't tell you how good it was to finally finish work at 6:30pm, knowing that I have a long weekend ahead of me! (King's Birthday.) For dinner I made a dish that is very similar to that Korean Beef dish that everyone used to make. I haven't made it for a while, and when I saw a video on Facebook of my girl Marion making a Vietnamese version, I thought I'd give it a go. It's quick and easy, and tasted good. Vietnamese Lemongrass Pork BowlWhen we take selfies, I say the word CAPTURE and my cell phone snaps the photo. Occasionally it doesnāt work so I have to yell it loudly. These two pictures show the process quite well. DH loves the one where Iām yelling! I love his smirk! Hahahaha that's hilarious!! Thank you for sharing that "out-take" and giving me a chuckle!

I think I finally turned a corner amd am slowly returning to the living. Dh's aunt and uncle have Influenza A and the gastro issues so they are miserable. His aunt started with the stomach issues last Friday, while we were still in Mexico. Anyway, Im def not going back to that resort and not sure I'll go back to Mexico at all.
Anyway, I had half of a bagel with egg on it for breakfast, half of a bagel with peanut butter for lunch, and some chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner. I guess Ill know in the morning if things are getting back to normal.

I didnāt even get to look at any of the art booths. Iāll have to go down on Sunday. Came to my hometown for my brotherās 50th birthday. It was nice. My dhās clients left tonight. When I go home Iāll have to clean the bathrooms and bedrooms. Maybe dh will surprise me and do it. š **GypsyGirl** hopefully your dhās treatment is as easy as it sounds. littlemama glad youāre feeling better but I wouldnāt be going back there either. And mashed potatoes have always been a comfort food for me when I donāt feel good. Thatās why I keep instant around lol. Spent part of the day helping my friend who was doing her annual yard sale for Alzheimerās. We closed everything up early because the skies got dark and even though it didnāt rain, but the wind really picked up. She ordered us pizza and wings for lunch so I wasnāt hungry for dinner. I was gonna have a bowl of ice cream and then I decided not to do that. I wasnāt hungry at all.
