My husband has gout and he has prescription for Allopurinol that he has been taking for years. It can be tied to red meats that cause a build up of Uric acid in the joints. There can be other causes of gout. My father had a tendency to get gout. He learned to avoid red meat, seafoods, sugary foods or foods with high fructose corn syrup, and alcohol. Some of the foods he had to give up didn’t upset him, but he hated giving up seafood. He ended up eating chicken, eggs, and lots of vegetables. I have never had it, but after seeing my father’s pain levels, I don’t want it. Oh, and drink lots of water.

I have been thinking about you! This was a first for me. I had not heard of gout in the neck before. Feet and toes is most common. Not sure if Allopurinol is first choice now or not but I recall it works very well. So glad hope is on the way for you

A word about Lyme Disease. The initial test they do gives a lot of false positives. If it comes back positive, make sure you ask for the second test that is much more accurate. My DD tested positive initially and then did the Western Blot test which is more accurate. It was negative.
