It’s June and it just dawned on me that the current session of the Supreme Court ends this month. And if that’s the case wouldn’t that mean they would have to give their decision if they think a president has full immunity this month?
I’m thinking if the Framers wanted or felt a president should have full immunity for their actions as president they would not have included the ability to impeach a President.
Normally I would think the Supreme Court would “get that” and rule against trump on this. But with this court who knows. Some seem almost as corrupt as trump.
I do know that if the Court rules in favor of trump we are both screwed and doomed.

I cannot imagine that even this lunatic right-wing Supreme Court will hand total immunity to any current or former president. BUT I have full faith in them putting off publishing a decision in time to affect the election in Trump’s favor. Oh so long ago lucyg was so right, DOOMED! Whenever I see a notification that I’ve been tagged in a (political) thread I haven’t posted in, I know what it’s going to say.  |

I think there are times when immunity is appropriate. This ain’t one. I think that, in normal times (like "the before times," before TFG ruined everything upon which he gazed) that's true, because a normal President would always be putting the country first, and the Congress would removed one who wasn't. This time, TFG's Congressional cronies are fully enraptured by him. |

If they grant him immunity, Biden needs to take full advantage and do whatever he can to keep trump out of office. Then, after he is sworn in, he can resign and let Kamala give him a full pardon for any action taken during his presidency. That way the republicans can't change their minds LOL.
I'm not really serious about this, but it would serve them right. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Guilty and planning to do more illegal things is my thought. If not guilty no reason to want immunity unless planning to do illegal things.
I agree though there is a reason why there is the impeachment option because they wanted to have a way to remove someone that isn’t following the law therefore immunity wasn’t intended.
