I'm like feeling so very bad for AussieMeg right now. Usually I am totally jealous of her food but never having a tamale? 😠Dinner was good. Even the vegan queso. It tasted nice with the beans, but is not something you'd want to scoop up on a tortilla chip and just eat by the spoonful. Mexican is extremely easy for vegetarian, but vegan is definitely more challenging! We do like our cheese!

(Ducks head) I've never had a tamale either! Me neither. Looks like the no-tamale group is getting larger.

I've never had a tamale either. Wouldn't know what it would look like. Never eaten an avocado.
I live in an area where Mexican food isn't really popular. With the wineries, more European, Asian fusion, farm to table type of cuisine.

Oh, for shame! My college roomie would go home once per year to make tamales w/her mother. It was a 2 day process and they were one of the best things I've ever eaten. So. Good. Yum.

I have had tamales, but I don't like them. It's the texture for me.

I have had tamales, but I don't like them. It's the texture for me. Have you had homemade ones? Is it the masa you don't care for? I find the pre-made, frozen or even fresh ones from the carniceria dense and weird too. In really good tamales the masa is fluffy almost by comparison.
