Just curious how much your annual homeowner's insurance policy is. I know it varies widely depending on location, home value and coverages. Mine is $907 and we've never had a claim. Last year it was $651 so it increased 40%. Ugh!

$2300, up from $1700 last year and around $900 back in 2018.

Right around $900. I got dropped by my old company (that's what living in California will do for you) last year. They were $650. I was lucky to even find insurance at all so the fact that I got a policy for $900 shocked me and shocked me again that they renewed me this year. The Fair Plan state insurance was almost $3,000/year.

I have no idea but it keeps going up (DH handles the insurance) - I live in Florida and while we haven't had any claims, the house insurance market here is nuts

$1500 here in Alberta Canada. Rates are tied to our credit rating (which is excellent). Call your insurance company and ask why your rate is so much higher.

About $1700. I upped my coverage last year and rates went up as well. It costs so much more now to build than what I had coverage for so it really wasn't adequate anymore.

Last year it was $651 so it increased 40%. I'm hearing that insurance rates are going up significantly all over the country - in large part due to all the weather events and disasters we've been having the past few years. DD's Renter's Insurance just went up 50%. I've heard from several friends that their rates have gone up 30% with their renewals. We find out what our new rate is later this month and I am dreading it. Considering it was just over $5,000 last year an increase like that is going to be painful. Our deductible is 1% for most claims, but 2% for windstorm and hail damage. We've been fortunate and have never filed a claim in 33 years.

I have no idea (DH pays it) but it went up 49.8% this year. When DH called to ask what the deal was we were told that during Covid insurance companies were limited in how much they could increase each year and that limitation fell off this year and they were allowed to raise rates UP TO FIFTY PERCENT! We are lucky we even have insurance and donāt have to use the (not)fair plan via CA.
Same crap happened to my auto insurance. No tickets, no accidents, huge increase.
My health insurance is going up 9.7% this year (I will now be paying $2200/mo from my check- a $200/mo increase)
Our water is up to almost $500 every 2 months.
Garbage is increasing I donāt know how much.
Natural gas has increased a bunch.
Everything but my income is going up up up. It sucks. We canāt get ahead.

Which is great and all but it's still not nearly enough to keep up with the price of basic needs these days. My water company sent out a notice that they are seeking a 300% increase in rates. Electricity rates go up and up every year. My propane bills are to the point where I just send them a couple hundred bucks every month regardless of if they have even delivered or not. My car insurance went up $40 for no reason. There just doesn't seem to be a way to ever get ahead.

No clue as DH pays ours at the beginning of the year. But I know it went up right around 45% even though we didn't have a claim in over 14 years.

We pay 9 months a year with the first payment being the highest, last being the lowest. We had an $11 increase per month from the previous year. I like that over summer, when our Edison bill is sky high, we have no auto insurance payment. It helps level out the freaking cost of running our AC.

We rent a townhome. So no homeowners insurance but I pay $130 1 time a year for moderate tier Earthquake insurance and then for the straight renters, $128 1 time a year. I have a few friends who were dropped by their homeowners insurance and had to scramble to find a new carrier.
What boggles my mind is the cost of property tax. Holy sh!t!!

So they are actively looking for people to drop it seems.

When I bought my home 31 years ago, my home insurance was $470 a year It is now $3,280. That is weith a $1,000 deductible, but if I change to $5,000 deductible, it would be $2,870.
Car insurance has gone up quit a bit as well.
I live in an area that has had 2 hurge fires and several severe hail and wether episodes.

Almost $6000 per year in FL. Was about $5200 last year. Luckily we weren't cancelled, we've been cancelled many times, zero claims in 30+ years here. Prices for insurance are crazy here. Many/most companies cancel you if your roof is over 15 years old.

Some of your costs are crazy! I pay Ā£660 annually for buildings and contents insurance (the latter up to Ā£100k), with an excess of Ā£100 for each. I had a claim for about Ā£4.5k three years ago which increased my bill by about 20%. Of course, we tend not to have extreme weather situations here, and I am not at risk of flooding, so that all helps.

Approx. $1100 annually, plus an additional $915 for flood insurance.

I just wrote the check for this year's insurance: $2,393.00 June kills me every year b/c I pay the home insurance and for propane for the year, that went down by $100. I was paying $2k back in 2020 and it's down to roughly $1,400 this year, global warming and warmer winters.
Insurance companies using drones to check people's properties/roofs is the new thing. It was on our local news recently. One guy was told unless he replaces his roof his policy wouldn't be renewed and another guy was told that he had to cut down trees or his policy wouldn't be renewed. I need to cut down some tall pines this summer, I'm nervous about hurricane season this year.
I also read another article that rates are going up everywhere due to what happens in other parts of the country like Florida with hurricanes and California with wild fires. I guess I never thought of it that way but it makes sense.

I don't know about other states but claims have not increased our homeowner's insurance. I've never heard of that happening here for homeowners. It does for car insurance for 3 years if you have an accident that is your fault and insurance has to pay.

Just received the new bill, $10,000.00 a year. When we bought the house in 2018 it was $2,800.00. In Florida about fifteen miles from the coast. CBS house, up to code with all the required hurricane protections.
This is our of control, Governor is too busy banning books, suppressing LGBT people and putting prayer in school to address this issue. Long time residents are being pushed out of their homes due the cost of homeowner's insurance.

$1200
I really expect it will be increased by a lot next year as this company (and other companies I've heard) has really increased their rates for all of our vehicles.
