Good morning.
This morning we're going to do some wiring in the living room. It's the last bit of the renovation. Then we might go to the nursery and pick out some stuff for the garden.
I do not know what to make for dinner. It's supposed to be a hot day, so it'll likely be something in the air fryer. I just love that thing. When we decide I'll post about it.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to this weekend?
I'm not sure what we're going to do. Ods will be home, again Sat night, so we'll do a small Father's Day celebration at home. I will try and get yds to do a zoom chat, too. He's coming home in a week and I can't wait. Apart from that, we don't have any set plans. I'm hoping that we'll start our video game this weekend now that he's done w/the big project.
sueg, I'm thinking of you and wishing you an easy MRI and sending prayers for your health.
jeremysgirl, how are you feeling today? I hope that you're better.
Wishing everyone a happy, fun, relaxing weekend that brings you lots of reasons to smile.

I'll run errands this morning then putz around the house after that. DH will be spending the next 3 days watching the golf Open. Dinner might be spaghetti and meatballs. TGIF! Day 2 of our time in Tallinn, Estonia: After the tour we said good-bye to Nicolai, our guide, then everyone was on their own for lunch. We headed to a restaurant he had recommended for their pancakes. It was very eclectic but we were worried since we were two of the few patrons. By the time we finished eating, the place was packed. They had huge, fun paintings on their walls. DH had a pancake with ice cream, I forgot I was Type 2 and went for the regular with maple syrup. They were the size of a huge dinner plate, folded over and they were divine!

Good evening all, My MRI is done. It was really not too bad - I just kept my eyes closed the whole time. One thing I liked this time was that they constantly told me what was happening , like ‘this next scan will be 3 minutes’ - while I didn’t add the minutes, it did give a sense of passing time in what is usually 30 minutes of darkness and noise. I’ll be back to the clinic Monday or Tuesday to find out what it shows. My friend ca me with me and after we went for lunch. It is so crazy in Munich today - the football Euros start tonight with Germany playing Scotland and it feels and sounds like half of Scotland is here for the day! Today is also my dear Lucia’s second birthday. I can’t be there this year and I missed her call as I was in the machine, but she sent me some photos

ntsf , there's always more cleaning out to do. Bleh. Enjoy the day.
cadoodlebug, those pancakes look amazing. Oh my goodness. Yum! The frog paintings look very fun. Have some fun today. sueg, your photos are precious. How is Lucia 2? It seems like Sophia was just born. You have very adorable granddaughters. Glad that your MRI is done and now you can relax and have some fun this weekend.

Good Morning, getting ready to go out with my mom and sister. Going out for brunch and do a little shopping. After that come home and watch a movie and do some coloring.
Not sure what's for dinner. I do want to avoid cooking in this hot day.
Have a great weekend !

Happy Friday!
Glad it's finally here what with me thinking yesterday was Friday most of the day.
Working on more fun social media posting today. Today was for an HVAC company that really likes dogs so I used ChatGPT to create some very fun images. I love the social posting part of my job because it helps feed the creative aspect of my brain.
Not sure what dinner will be tonight. I'll probably head over to my sisters after work to swim and see what they have for dinner. Last night, we had our wine club pickup party and then tried out the new ramen place next door. It was good but not as good as my regular ramen place so I think I'll stick with that. This one is more convenient though.
Hope you all have a great day!

I'm leaving in a few minutes to have brunch with my mum ... Then I have a meeting at the bank ... Then home to just hang out ... no plans at all! Yay! Oh, I might type up a word doc with the itinerary for the visit of my friend and her husband next month ... we are squeezing in so many activities! It's going to be a blast! No idea what dinner is tonight ... if my mum comes over I will cook, if she doesn't, I might get takeout of some sort Love your photos cadoodlebug and sueg!

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well. Glad the mri went OK, sueg and hope the sinus thing is responding to antibiotics, jeremysgirl. Your crepes look yummy, cadoodlebug. I considered going out to breakfast but decided to pass. Currently tly enjoying a frozen strawberry lemonade, listening to some mellow Erykah Badu at the coffeehouse, working on one of my 7 day loan novels. I have an assessment for PT this afternoon. It's beautiful out so I suspect we will grill out and possibly hang out in the hot tub. Either burgers or I picked up some different spicy sausages/brats. We had some great hot links at a BBQ place and I've been on the hunt for something similar since. We enjoy a hot polish on a poppyseed bun, but I was looking for something different. We'll see how these are, if not today then over the weekend. I also have some small steaks. If I don't hear from the kids (Nick's daughter's fam) I will be taking Nick to a brunch buffet on Sunday for Father's Day. I got him a standalone cooler for the deck and new earbuds. His daughter has a lot going on...a cantaloupe size tumor...hoping it is endometrial or a system vs something scarier. So we welcome good thoughts for her. If we don't all get together this weekend we will soon. Happy Friday, friends!

This week has flown by. Yesterday was my great aunts funeral. It was a very small gathering but it was so nice to see people I haven't seen in years. We have been to a bunch of baseball games. My parents have wanted to see as many of the DGS's play as possible. Getting ready to go with them to have lunch with DD and DGD's. I need to make a birthday card for my dad and pick up the house. Most of the family is coming over tomorrow evening for a cookout. Tomorrow is actually my dad's birthday and we will celebrate father's day as well. cadoodlebug those pancakes look heavenly. sueg glad you are done with the MRI. I really believe a good tech can make all the difference when you have an MRI. Happy Birthday to Lucia! Darcy Collins I love both of them. Can't wait to hear what you thought about the show. Dinner will be pork chops on the grill. I refuse to turn on the oven as long as it is in the 90's.

Darcy Collins , I wanted to see the show w/Martin Short and Steve Martin when it was in my area a few yeas ago. It should be a blast. Steve Martin writes really good novellas that are not at all indicative of his "wild and crazy guy" persona. They're serious, articulate and very thoughtfully written.
tmarschall, I'm thinking very benign thoughts for your DSD.

I do not know what to make for dinner. It's supposed to be a hot day, so it'll likely be something in the air fryer. I just love that thing. I have decided to get rid of my Cuisinart airfryer/toaster oven. I never use it for anything more than to toast, toast. And it's taking up valuable counter space. So I have a toaster coming in the mail. What is everyone up to this weekend? We got a huge garbage dumpster and are cleaning out our basement. Chloe is coming tomorrow to get her things finally. Anything she leaves behind is going. We are nearly gutting the entire basement. I did, however, make sure Jeremy know that no work will begin on the basement until the camper is finished. I mean it. But, we are going to set up the basement so I have the perfect craft space and he has the perfect shop and we can make Esther's room into a guest bedroom. how are you feeling today? I hope that you're better. I am feeling better today. Still a little nasal and stuffy head, but I'm doing so much better than yesterday. Today is also my dear Lucia’s second birthday. I can’t be there this year and I missed her call as I was in the machine, but she sent me some photos She is adorable! His daughter has a lot going on...a cantaloupe size tumor...hoping it is endometrial or a system vs something scarier. So we welcome good thoughts for her. If we don't all get together this weekend we will soon. This is awful. I'm so sorry. I wanted to reach out to you because it is next weekend we will be camping in your area. We had talked about a meet up while I was there. We will be arriving Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday afternoon. I have that graduation party on Saturday afternoon/evening. But other than that, I'm open. Hope you still want to meet up! I posted this on the healthy living thread but I'll post here, as well. In the seven weeks post smoking, I gained almost 9 lbs. Now I was not giving myself a hard time about it because quitting smoking is a big deal and so weight gain seemed inevitable. However, I switched over to a plant based diet a week ago. (yesterday was 8 weeks smoke free). Other than the pancakes I made last night (they were vegan, but all purpose flour), every carb I ate was whole grain. My weight was down 3.2 pounds today!!!!! Tonight I'm making salad with a creamy potato/leek soup.

jeremysgirl, Great that you lost over a 3rd of your stop-smoking weight. It was a temporary gain for a good cause. You're changing your lifestyle in a very loving and healthy way. You've given yourself the best gift. When you do move into your basement you're going to be in crafting heaven. Imagine being able to have all that space, especially for quilting. Bliss.

Yes he promised he would build me a 6x6 ft crafting table so I can stretch out my quilt cutting and my scrapbooking. It's going to be awesome when finished. If anyone thinks I need a bigger table, poke poke **GypsyGirl** tell me because I can make the case for an even bigger table.

Hi all! Happy Friday!
Sending good wishes to everyone!
I'm not sure exactly what we'll find ourselves doing this weekend. I think DH mentioned going to the casino to cash in his winning tickets, so perhaps that and then some antiquing in the area.
I did tell him about a job I think he'd be very qualified for, and bonus: it's in a low(er) cost of living area than where we are now. However, we are not letting ourselves get too ahead of the game since we all know how last time worked out. But there was a super cute little house (3 bed, 2 bath) for $213k that caught my eye. So I will likely help him work on his resume and cover letter for that as well this weekend.
I've been working on my newest cross-stitch project as time allows (AKA before/after work), and watching the NHL finals. I also need to get groceries tonight since it sounds like we'll be out tomorrow.

DH and I went grocery shopping this morning. Prior to that, we stopped to pick up the water bottles that I had laser engraved to take on our cruise. They looked awesome with our names. I laid them on the backseat of the truck and when I opened the door to grab my grocery bags, mine rolled out and dropped on the cement. Thankfully it was mine and not my friends and it only got a couple small scratches in it.
Groceries are put away, a load of laundry is done and now I’m reading on the deck. It’s a gorgeous day and thankfully we didn’t get any of the storm that was predicted for last night.
Supper is grilled chicken burger for me and hamburger for DH.

I have to run out for an errand right now but will send a PM with several links when I get back. But yes, if you have the space I would go larger by another foot or two and 48" wide. Think about laying out an entire quilt top or the backing.

3rd day for me posting on this thread. Go me! The FOMO is real. Seriously, I am reading a lot about lowering my anxiety levels and making connections comes up often as a stress reducer. Since I am not a social person I am using you all as part of my self prescribed therapy. If it works I’m going on a speaking tour and NSBR will become world renowned.
This morning I spent 2 hours on the phone transferring my house insurance to a new carrier. My old one stopped covering my state. I will say the agent was well informed, thorough and super polite so I’m not upset about how long it took. He was able to provide a better policy along with an umbrella policy for about the same cost of my previous insurance. So I’m good for at least a year.
I’m headed to my mom’s house for the weekend. She has been lonely and a bit depressed since I moved back to my own house. Hopefully the weekend visit will cheer her up a bit. (Or she’ll get sick of me and be glad to have her peace and quiet back!)
Dinner is whatever I pick up for my mom and I on my way to her house. Probably fish and chips. Enjoy your day, everyone!

I forgot to mention that DS is on a business trip to NYC! He arrived Wednesday and the conference ended this afternoon. He texted me that a bunch of them were on a train to Manhattan as some are staying through the weekend. He is so exited. He's staying in an incredible looking hotel south of Central Park and attending a Mets game. No idea what else they're doing but I doubt a Broadway Play is involved. He attended lots when he was younger as we took him to SF for many productions and we all saw the Lion King in London so I tried!

Anyone know anything about lupus? A very good friend was just diagnosed and she’s in her 50s. Just wondering if anybody here has any first-hand knowledge that I could pass to her? Thank you.
