This was an argument in my newlywed house .I grew up with one clean towel a week. Husband grew up using a fresh towel per day. I do the laundry for the house, so my rules apply. He is now on board but it took YEARS to get him reusing. We use about 3-4 times before washing.

Clean towel for every bath or shower. We don't wash them daily. We run about 2 loads of towels a week.

Using a fresh towel every shower does not equate to doing laundry every day, why would it? Two bath towels and a hand towel isn't a full load. People do loads of things that are bad for the environment that I don't do so I'll continue to use a fresh towel with zero guilt.

Towels/bath mat get washed sunday and wednesday...unless there is a reason to do them in between.....We have the humidity going on in the summer.

Reuse - but it must be hung up to dry.
My kids never seemed to figure this out until they moved out and did their own laundry! LOL

I re-use mine. I wash towels regularly, so doesn't seem like a big deal to me. I have a family of 5 people so if towels were single use around here, I'd be doing laundry nonstop!

Reuse. Washing towels every day is a waste of water and electricity. The biggest problem in our climate is that damp towels often get stinky, so I am forever spreading them out more on the towel bars to try to help them dry. Agree! We live in a very dry climate. I trifold my towels and they are bone dry by the next shower. Growing up in a more humid climate, I sometimes felt like I was trying to dry myself off with a wet wipe.

We reuse for a week. I wash on Sundays. Exactly what I do.

Definitely we reuse, sometimes for two weeks. I'm just briefly drying water off from a clean body. The towel doesn't even leave the bathroom. I fling it over the shower bar and it dries quickly. It never smells musty, if it did I'd wash them more often.

The biggest problem in our climate is that damp towels often get stinky, so I am forever spreading them out more on the towel bars to try to help them dry. When I lived in Alabama I whined to a friend about the damp towels and she said her solution to the damp towels was to put into the dryer every morning for 10 minutes or so. I just had to remember to put them back in the bathroom every night!

Definitely reuse. I just don't get why having a fresh towel every day is worth it. I know you aren't washing them every single day, but doing a load isn't good for the environment or the electric bill. Besides, why should I make extra work for myself? I guess I'm lazy and I'm not that concerned with germs, etc. I live alone, too, so it would always be a partial load for me.
I don't use a hair towel, either. I dry off my body and then wrap that towel around my hair.

But for a bigger family or one where people shower multiple times a day I can see how it would pile up pretty quickly. Personally I wouldn’t want to do that much extra laundry if that was the case! When we have guests at our cabin and everybody is out swimming in the lake I dread having to wash all those towels afterward!

If it’s hot and sunny here, Texas, it is a lot - I will hang them on the outside clothesline. The sun and air freshens them right up. Plus I use the easy dry, waffle ones. White only.

Reuse. I'm patting my clean body dry. Are there exceptions? Yes. But primarily that is my answer.

I use the same towel 2-3 times before replacing. My DH grew up in a house that used a fresh towel each shower but they use the tiniest towels ever as bath towels! Reusing his towel is one of the adjustments he made when we got married.

Reuse. It’s the one item that doesn’t get cat hair on it and helps give me a reprieve from endless loads of laundry. The exception being after I bathe the cat. Washing her is a dander stirring occurrence that requires everyone involved shower post haste and all towels, mats, etc. go immediately into the washer.

Fresh towel every time, Im not a germaphobe I just prefer it. I would too. I can’t do for a household of people but probably will when the kids are grown.

We always get a fresh towel. It's just how my mom did it so it's how we do it too.

I honestly think there's a middle ground though. I do think towels are kind of gross after a whole week of use. If I were to take over the laundry, I would wash towels 2-3 times a week.

Reuse twice. Hand towels are changed every day.
When the boy was young and bathing/showering himself, they were changed daily. When he proved fastidious in grooming, the towels began being reused.

Ok I'll admit that she came to mind when I watched the video - we've had this discussion in the past around here. This was a "look there's proof" that it's ok to reuse. But the jab is really uncalled for.
