I treated myself to a Dualit toaster when I renovated my kitchen, and burnt slices are now a thing of the past. 😁

Hmmm…depends how much of it is too dark. A couple of corners? Scrape. Across the centre, generally more areas - throw it. If imm going to eat it I want to enjoy it and i won’t with the lingering burnt smell. 100% this. If it’s only a little burnt on one corner I would probably still eat it. But if the whole thing is burnt there’s no salvaging it because even if you scrape it it still tastes burnt to me and that’s just nasty. I wouldn’t throw it away though. I’d give it to my dogs and they would love me forever.

Overall burnt? It's getting tossed. I like a more toasted piece of bread. But that means more brown in color. If the corners happen to be black, I'll just pop them off.

I don't eat toast a lot. When I do toast bread, it is for a sandwich and I like it lightly toasted. I don't scrape toast...however it comes out, is how I eat it

I prefer lightly toasted, so my toaster is set for that....so it's very unlikely that a piece would overcook.
Just in case you didn't know....there are one slice toasters available. Search google, and several come up. I had no idea, until I saw a couple months ago, that someone posted on instagram. It's a space saver too.

Never. The very few times I have over toasted I threw away. Same. It has never occurred to me to scrape burnt toast. I’m pretty sure that I’ve never even heard of it.

No…but I also prefer mine lightly toasted and set my toaster accordingly. I can’t remember the last time I burnt toast. I would toss it if I did.

I prefer my bread toasted dark but if it's too burned then I toss it.

Yes, I am a scraper. But only for some bits of black for toast or something I have extra of. If I burrn hamburger buns and I don’t have replacements I will scrape those until they are edible.
