Good morning,
Today I need to run a couple of errands and then I have my voice lesson. I'm having a ball singing my heart out. It's just a pure rush for me.
Dh is going to Costco. Better him than me. I'm so happy that he loves to go and I don't have to do so anymore.
Dinner will be rechauffe pizza. Dh is enjoying this one and he can only eat one slice at a time. It's very thick crust and lots of sauce.
What's on your menu?
teddyw, I hope that you're feeling much better today. How are you?
What does everyone have planned today?
Wishing all of you a wonderful, happy, easy week!

I’m enjoying the last day of a four day weekend. A friend came to visit from Canada and we had a fun few days. I are out and am now back on a better eating plan. Dinner is grilled marinated steak tips with salad and probably a vegetable or two. scrapmaven I’m glad you’re enjoying your voice lessons! A selfie with one of my besties at the Dr. Seuss Museum on Friday.

we are going out to brunch with friends who are in town from aukland new zealand. then, for dinner, we are having leftover sushi and salmon from japanese takeout. dh went with me to pick up and saw the same sushi chef that has been there forever. we started taking the kids to this place 32 yr ago.. and my japanese cousin approved of the food there too!!
making phone calls today, cleaning up for the cleaning lady tomorrow.
dh has actually got rid of the sailing books that have been sitting in the living room for years!! so proud of him. we sold the boat before the pandemic.

I'm hoping to get a call from my dentist this morning. Friday evening the inside of my back molar on the top broke off. No pain so I left a message on their voicemail. Always something, right? Dinner might be chicken divan. Continuing on our first day in Iceland: After checking into our hotel in Reykjavik we headed out to lunch with another couple. It was still rainy and windy. We went to an indoor food court where there were about 15 different restaurants. We opted for fish and chips. DH snapped this photo of Sue and me in front of a troll. We decided to go to Fly Over Iceland which is similar to a ride at Disneyland. You feel like you’re in a helicopter flying over all the beautiful sights in the country. DH and Pat kept lifting their legs when we got *near* water. Walking to this venue DH snapped another photo, this time by a pig wearing a raincoat. The rain/wind picked up again and almost knocked DH over! Thankfully we took a taxi back to the hotel after the show. The hotel has lots of neat sayings written on their walls so I took a few pictures of them. Also, our key card. I forgave them for writing Us Icelanders instead of We Icelanders. I’m only the grammar police in the US. Sign by the elevator

Happy Monday!
Luckily it's a short week with the Juneteenth holiday right in the middle. I'm back to my regular job duties which aren't as much fun as the social posting I was doing last week. I've got to pick up a grocery order at the store and I've been hungry for chicken and dumplings so I may make that tonight. It's just me and seems to be a lot of work for one person for dinner but we'll see how I feel as the day goes on.
Hope you all have a great day!

cadoodlebug - Yes, the wind will get you! All dumpsters are chained down. We have watched the cars just rocking in the parking lot from the winds. We walked with a toddler mattress in that wind, so surprised it didn't fly away! Oh the memories of Iceland!

cadoodlebug, those are such fun photos. I love a hotel w/a sense of humor. I'm sorry that you have dental work in your near future. That's not fun. hopefully, it's an easy fix that they can do today. KelleeM , that photo is lots of fun, too. Did you enjoy the Dr. Suess museum? ntsf , enjoy today and don't clean too much. You want your cleaning lady to have something to do.
Tearisci, it would have been more fun if they'd given you lots of chocolate samples. Gotta represent the client.

In all honesty, I don't know. Just living day to day. Yesterday was a lot of reflection and tears.

Happy Monday! I was up early to water and deadhead all my petunias. .soo many and they dry out so fast. I'm all focused on pretty colors at the beginning if the season and forget I'll spend the summer trying to protect my investment and failing, haha. But it's early and I'm still in the game. It's supposed to be dry and in the 90's all week so I just really have to. It's nice to be up early when it's still comfortable. I've done all my morning chores and then some so now I can decide if I'm going to sit in the hot tub with a novel or go to the coffeehouse and library. I think I will go out for a bit. The cake came out okay. It was delicious! But my new gadget has a bit if a learning curve. Overall good and it has potential. My ganache was a little soft...I usually have a different ratio. Also it would have been better to pop in the freezer, both right after stacking and after I poured the ganache. I also stacked it taller than the sleeve so it wasn't even and as stable as it should have been, so it definitely had a lean. I already had the whipped cream made so I used it to camo the mistakes and threw some berries on it. Finally, I think frosting between the layers instead of chocolate cream would have made it more stable. I should have supported it with straws. It tasted like a chocolate dipped strawberry so I'm not mad at it! But overall, it did turn out mostly smooth, which is what it was selling. I do love a good kitchen gadget, haha. Attachments:

DH went to work as usual this morning and will return home late Wednesday . He’ll be on a flight to Paris sometime in the next hour. I walked to the supermarket this morning for the post-weekend top up , then called my younger DS, as he was at the theatre when his brother rang us on Saturday, so I thought I should let him know about my mouth issues before he sees his older brother later this week. We had quite a long chat - it’s day like today when I’m glad we talk over Messenger or WhatsApp, not on an international phone call. I’ve been crocheting since lunch and now have only two squares left to do before I start joining them together. Tomorrow morning I’ll be back to the oral medicine clinic to see what the MRI found.
Dinner tonight is chicken - probably Hainan chicken rice, because I have a packet mix to make it.

I'm thinking that I might be done working for the school year ... there just aren't many secondary jobs available right now ... I can't say I'm sad about that! I need to hit the bank to deposit a cheque and grab a couple of things from the grocery store later ... no other plans today ... I have fallen down the black hole of Youtube ASMR hair brushing and scalp massage videos ... it sounds boring but it is so relaxing to watch! Anyone else watch strange things on Youtube? Dinner is undecided at this time ... big surprise!

scrappert Be gentle with yourself. My father passed away 5 years ago and I still have days where I hurt with missing him. He was my person. My good friend came for coffee this morning. She’s a teacher with a busy life and I’ve been staying with my mom for the past year and a half helping her out. I was only home on weekends. So we were in need of a good catch up. She lives 2 doors down so hopefully we will do this often this summer. We’re in a heat advisory for the next 5 days so I am avoiding cooking. Lots of salad and smoothies on the menu. I’m always on the lookout for a good salad recipe of any kind so feel free to let me know your favorites. Have a wonderful day!

We had quite a long chat - it’s day like today when I’m glad we talk over Messenger I love that we have that option. DS is Navy and ends up all around the world but he often calls on FB messenger when he has wifi Tired today. scrapmaven glad you’re enjoying your singing lessons. Very warm here today in Western New York. It’s going to be worse tomorrow and Wednesday Dinner will probably either be a cold turkey sandwich or something else I can find that I don’t have to cook. I finished up my yardwork yesterday because I knew it was gonna be really bad the next few days so today I’m gonna find something to watch on TV and do nothing because I have no problem sitting here doing nothing

We are supposed to go to a barbecue with all my former coworkers this afternoon. I’ve made my macaroni salad to take but we are also in a heat advisory this week and it’s supposed to thunderstorm this afternoon. Not sure if we will be going but regardless we will have some macaroni salad to eat!

scrapmaven.. there is always plenty for the cleaning lady to do!!! I have hangers all over the floor from my efforts to clean out the closet.. need to pick stuff off the floor. I hate making her job harder. my scrap area is also a disaster.. 15 min of work will take care of that. and I need to clean the refrigerator.. and the freezer. and there are 5 bags of good will stuff in front hall.. those need to migrate to the car.
add in laundry and there is plenty to do. I actually got out the ironing board this morning and I think I will iron a few other shirts while it is out..

No cooking again so dh got a pizza and salad. I felt ok this morning but as the day wore on the cough amped up. Took a Covid test to be sure- negative. I don’t have a fever either. I volunteered to water the flower pots at church this week. Since it’s in the 90s all week that means every day. People have also added all these memorial gardens on the grounds. Everything is full sun all day. I don’t know who picks the plants but they aren’t full sun plants. I’m going at 6am tomorrow before the heat. I went at 8 today and it got hot quick. The layers in that cake tmarschall. I think the cream would be delicious. I’m craving chocolate cake now.
