I have never needed anything baseball related so don't have anything in my stash. So of course DD gets a job at a baseball stadium, and we went to a game for Father's Day. What is available (which is not much) is vintage or out of stock. And we wonder why we scrapbookers hoard things... Maybe I need to stock up on football, hockey, and volleyball stuff just in case I actually need tennis (not photo realistic) and bowling (not retro) if any manufacturer's are listening.

Because some (but not all) scrapbook releases come and go, it's a "buy it now or I may miss out on it" kind of thing. If I like something I buy it...even if I don't have an immediate need for it. Over the years, I've learned not to wait on something that I love, because I've missed out before.
I have themed products in my stash....some things for well over a decade(or two)....that I will use someday. It makes me happy, knowing I have it and knowing I won't be on the search for something that I wish I had bought "back then" when it was new. My way of doing it, may not be for everyone....but it works for me.

I hear you. There were a couple less vintage sides in the Carta Bella Home Run collection papers (still on scrapbook.com) - I liked the navy. But yeah, not so much the vintage elements. www.scrapbook.com/store/cbp-cbhr313011.html

I am right there with you bree. A few months ago I started making a school years album for my Grandson, who has played basketball since 3rd grade. I ordered a couple of collections from online stores I shop and they were TERRRIBLE - the papers had a slick finish which I didn't like, and only a couple of papers I could actually use, and still haven't used the stickers or diecuts I purchased. Then I found a couple of older collections on ebay (or somewhere that carried older inventory) and they were better, but still not a lot of usable papers and diecuts.
Then I started on some other photos where he played baseball and football 2 years each, and same problem -- hardly any collections and the ones I could find were not useful. This time, instead of ordering the collections (which were by the same companies that made the slick finish basketball papers) I ordered off Ebay, but this time just embellishments, I also cut some diecuts with my Cameo, and got by with cardstock and simple patterns like stripes and dots.

I'm not a theme scrapper so don't buy specific-themed supplies to scrap a subject. Luckily, the sports balls you're seeking - baseball, tennis, & bowling - can be achieved using tools you may already have, such as circle punches, markers, &/or cut files (if applicable). Adding patterned papers, stencils, embossing folders, punches, stamps, &/or dies on hand in related patterns would also give a nod to the theme (e.g. herringbone, stripes, pennants, squares/diamonds = baseball; grids/net = tennis). Note you may already have these sports icons on cut apart papers/sticker sheets/ephemera/chipboard/stamps from boy, play, school, fun/games themed collections (e.g. bowling balls/pins are throughout the Simple Stories - Family Fun collection). Notice the patterns used in the vintage &/or out of stock baseball collections; you may also find the same or similiar patterned papers in your existing inventory. Consider purchasing a multi-sport stamp (e.g. Pretty Pink Posh - Sports), die set (e.g. Spellbinders - Game Day dies), chipboard (e.g. Mintay Chippies - Sport), etc. that would help you tackle sports that unexpectedly come your way now & in the future. For baseball specific products, check out: - Simple Stories Page Pieces - Baseball (note SS Page Pieces - Tennis is also available) - Carta Bella - Home Run: I Love Baseball paper (white with red stitching) - Doodlebug - Home Run (Value Bundle) - Reminisce - Baseball collection

Scrapbook Cusoms has baseball lines. I have never ordered directly from them, but it looks like they have a retail side.

I feel like Photoplay is usually good for small collections of random themes. I don't follow them to know what they have now but it might be worth taking a look.

christinec68 Photoplay was my first thought, too, but the baseball collection I found looks very weathered/distressed.

I feel like Photoplay is usually good for small collections of random themes. ... WARNING: Photoplay sports collections are branded (although rarely listed at online retailers) as Colorplay, which is printed in-house using glossy papers!

Do you have any boy sticker sheets? They often have sports elements included. I usually cut those out with an Exacto knife and place in my sports bin.

Fortunately, I do have a stash of baseball papers. I'm going to run out of baseball photos before I run out of product. But yeah, I've been collecting it piece by piece over the years, along with football and basketball.
The Carta Bella collection is definitely retro. I've used it on a page but sparingly. A lot of it is a cream base, and that isn't my jam. I liked that layout, except I embroidered baseball stitching on it, which I love, but somehow I must have measured it wonky. Every time I look at it, it annoys me.
I like the Scrapbook Customs paper with the wood, but if I remember right, it is glossy. I haven't used the baseball one from this line yet, but I used the football paper, and I really liked how it looked, despite the gloss. Scrap Your Trip has a lot of baseball stuff, but their paper is glossy, too.
I do have some Paper House stickers. I use them sparingly, because they are photorealistic, but I've been happy with a couple of layouts I did with those.
I agree with PaperAngel though, on this one. Sometimes we have to make the embellishments ourselves.
But yeah, if there is a theme you think you'll need in the future, buy a few papers.

If you do any kind of hybrid scrapping, Liz Tamanaha has some baseball-themed digital files. Search "paislee press baseball" on the-lilypad.com.

breetheflea I bought a digital pack because of this for baseball. My kids play in the disability league every spring and nothing out spoke to me.

I like PaperAngel ideas as far as balls are circles, start there maybe? Was there a mascot/team name that you could focus on? Or did you eat some ballpark food? I think for me, attending the game has less to do with actual baseball and more about the other stuff we do as fans. Also for baseball - I am thinking red stitching or red dashes to represent the stitches on a baseball. What about font/lettering - like a varsity type font? Let the photos tell the baseball story, then accent from there maybe? Any memorabilia (ticket, program, receipt) or could you print a logo from the team website?

Are there are any companies with lines that incorporate a few different sports? I feel like those could be useful to have in one's stash, since it would likely give you a manageable amount for a few different themes.

My nephew played on rec team. His team was called Kansas City. I went on Amazon and got some stickers to add to my page. I also go to Amazon for different college stickers, too.

If you cannot find what you need, I'd think in terms of basic baseball colors. So white balls with red stitching and green grass. You can also go with team colors. Also basic shapes like white circles, green diamonds.

When I need elements for a theme that I don't have, I use die cutting machines and stamps to make my own. It's more work, but that's why I have all the things, LOL!

Oddly enough, at least for stickers, I like to check out Dollar Tree. They upped their sticker game considerably in the past few years, and have a lot of sports related stickers.

I’ve noticed that too. I have had at a minimum 2 but usually 3 of my kids playing baseball over the past 4 years. I kept watching for new fun stuff to come out but for whatever reason it seems to be the one sport lacking. By is it’s so popular from toys up through adults so I’m puzzled. I’m not much for the vintage stuff and since I have so many kids playing over the years I want variety! I haven’t attempted to do this years or even last years pictures as I’ve run out of things and I’m not inspired. I do have a sticker here and there for a ball bat and glove but I wanted something different.

I’ve seen some themed paper and stickers at Hobby Lobby. Not as nice as the brands we buy on line but you could check it out.
