I want to avaid having to check a bag so my plan is to bring one carry on and one personal bag, I was hoping to bring a backback that can carry my laptop also. Would the backpack be considered my personal bag, it would be similar in size to a larger camera bag or diaper bag?
I checked Delta's website, but just want to verify that this would be OK.
Thanks

Yes, that's how it goes for DH whenever he flies, but he flies USAir and United mostly. Delta might not be exactly the same. The personal bag just has to fit under the seat in front of you and most backpacks would.

Thank you, another question - how do you fit all your gels, fluids, liquids into one quart size bag?
I have: face wash shampoo conditioner mousse hair spray deodorant toothpaste lotion
I would still like to add astringent and face lotion, but that bag is pretty full already. If I buy something like the oxy pads for my face do they need to go in the bag? Those would work for me.
Sorry for asking such simple questions, but this is only the 3rd time I have flown in my life, so I just don't know and I want to get through the airport as easily as possible. I really DO NOT want to be "that" person.

I pour my liquids into smaller containers. I don't use hairspray, but have several different things I use on my hair. The container store has 1 and 2 oz bottles which saves me space over the 3 oz ones at the drugstore. Also, a lot of people just use the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion that hotels offer.

Oh, in regards to the oxypads. I use Almay eye makeup remover pads. I've never had a problem traveling with them as it. As long as the pads aren't sitting in liquid you should be fine just packing them with normal stuff. Also, I use solid deodorant so that doesn't have to fit in the quart sized bag either.

I knew the PeasRefugees would come through for me.
Thanks for the responses, it really does help. I think I should be good now.

Anything over 3oz goes into my checked luggage. The quart size bag rule is only for the carry-on. I was a dumdum and forgot last time we flew (only had a carry-on, no checked bags) and packed a bottle of cream in my toiletry bag. I'll be damned if they didn't see it right away on the scanner. I had forgotten that I packed it and had no idea what they were looking for. I had to toss it.

Do you know if you can carry those Thermacare heat pads in carry-ons? I haven't flown in years, but I use them on long car trips because my back gets achy.
