I have really liked the six pc sets from Northern Nights on QVC. they are deep enough for my very thick Hybrid Mattress the more you wash them the softer they get come in lots of pretty mostly pastel colours and the extra pillow cases are wonderful for my King bed. This. I will only buy Northern Nights sheets from QVC. The supima cotton ones are my favorite. Sooooo soft. I have 3 sets I rotate on the regular. As for quilts, I’ve yet to find a king size one that is perfect, but we did have good luck with a Woolrich quilt from Kohl’s. Lasted us 3 years with 2 dogs sleeping on the bed.

The quilt and duvet cover on my bed is from Pottery Barn. The duvet is holding up nicely. The quilt is having issues with holes. It’s only a couple of years old and the original patch was needed within the first year. Honestly, I am happy with my solution for the patches. However, it is probably not something easily tolerated by others. It’s not a patchwork quilt. It’s solid color.
Quilts are not something I find easily. And, my quilt choice was due to the duvet cover.
Jay had a “suede” (not correct term) quilt from PB. It wore poorly on the edges. However, he only used the quilt which meant it went through the wash weekly. I can’t complain about its wear due to the circumstances. It was replaced by a quilt from Kohl’s, which is showing the same wear on the edges at this point.

I LOVE getting new bedding and I switch out frequently, so I don't pay a ton for it. I mainly only buy from Target and TJMaxx. okay I admit I'd love to do that more often but Lord, what do you do with all that bedding? I mean, I usually have a fall/winter set and a spring/summer set but that's about it. Do you just throw the older patterns out? I thought of giving to Goodwill but who wants to buy used bedding? IDK. It's a huge dilemma for me. Oh gosh, I always keep several sets of bedding on hand! We have a bad tendency to ruin bedding, or at least need to change it, and of course--it's always in the middle of the night. We just keep the extras in the linen closet. As for buying used bedding, people definitely do. It's really no different than buying used clothing or sleeping in hotels.

LLBean's sheets are fantastic.

Sheets are my nemesis right now. I used to LOVE Wamsutta's basic percales, and I've yet to find anything the same as them. They were soft without being "fuzzy" if you know what I mean. I want soft, but also crisp--and that sounds contradictory, but my Wamsutta sheets used to be like that.
I also don't want the fitted sheets to be so damn huge. I don't have a pillowtop mattress because I hate them, and I don't put any extra mattress topper on my bed, so my fitted sheets always get all of these uncomfortable wrinkles in them as we move around in bed.

My DH likes the PB ones. I like them just fine and the fact that he buys them

I love Bol and Branch sheets for their softness and depth. If I were to try these what style do I want? I am sensitive to fabrics. Thanks so much! I get their signature fabric, which is super soft. I think they are all 100% cotton. There is a page on the website that describes the various sheet fabrics.

I bought 1000+ thread count Egyption cotton sheets on Overstock.com for years. They were thick and comfortable but they shrink like crazy. I bought some from Brooklinen and they seem thin by comparison but they're nice and soft and still fit. I also have some from Yves DeLorme and they are also very soft but they don't sell my pattern anymore. I came across this video about how to style a bed and went completely down a rabbit hole. Now I want all new bedding. How to style a bed.

Red Land Cotton! They are as a good as they claim. They do have fantastic sales. I got mine during their 4th of July promotion. If you feel like it’s too much, maybe order a pillow case set to see if you like the fabric. I have a lot of vintage pillowcases (with the embroidery on the ends) and Red Land Cotton feels like the same quality. I also have towels from their seconds sale and they are great!

I like Company Store too. I would like to feel some of these other brands in real life. Some things I can buy online, sheets are not one. I want to feel them. Since I know I like Company Store I just buy from them.

Boll and Branch! Bought my first set 5 1/2 years ago (just looked it up). A year later bought another set when they were having a sale because I wanted another set on hand. I've still never even opened the box of the 2nd set! I wash and dry the ones on my bed once a week and they are still in perfect condition. The ones I have are the Signature Soft.

thank you all for your great suggestions!
I think I have found my duvet cover/shams combo at Anthro of all places.
The sheets I'm still debating on, some of these are SUPER nice!

Do you just throw the older patterns out? I thought of giving to Goodwill but who wants to buy used bedding? IDK. It's a huge dilemma for me. If they are still in usable condition, then feel free to donate them. People do buy used bedding for various reasons and uses. Another option is to check with local animal shelters and see what they accept. I donate old blankets, bath rugs and towels to a shelter here. That had been my idea with the comforters that were in the bed my dog used but shelters will not accept anything that has stuffing. I have no desire to donate to good will or Salvation Army so I don’t know exactly what to do with them. I haven’t given them to a people shelter because to me they are animal comforters if that makes sense.

It's a huge dilemma for me. Charity shops are good for donation. I have two near me that collect coats and bedding to give to clients. One of them keeps a stack specifically to give those wandering into her shop looking for help.
