Haven't been there for several months and it was by Costco, so I popped in. They had their scrap stuff 40% off, 10 papers for $3, and lots of red tagged clearance stickers and Thickers. They had new Thickers for $4.99 marked down to $2.99. Just in case anyone needs the info. The craft section looked like a small tornado had been through it and no new designer papers, but all of the designer stuff was clearanced as well.

i am not surprised this would happen since they filed BK. we have a large Joann store but the SB section was been very lacking and not updated much since last year. i hope they aren't shrinking the SB/papercrafting department in favor of items like As Seen on TV stuff, Spa items or expanded home decor.

Mine was similar when I went in a few weeks ago. Many very bare shelves, although at that time they still have plenty of AC Designers stuff. It looked to me like they might give up the scrapbook/paper craft stuff. I think there's still a niche for them offering fabric crafts since there aren't many other stores selling fabric (in most towns Joann is about the only option, I think) but with HL and Michaels in most towns that have a Joann I'm not sure it makes sense for them to continue trying to compete.

I have a few Joann’s around me and one is usually not well stocked and the papercrafting selection is minimal, although they do have the designer stuff. It’s also a very small store in general. The other ones (at least 3) are larger stores and have many aisles of scrapbooking/paper crafts. There are crafters companion items, small violet studio items in the value bins, the new Vicki boutin mixed media section, the Heidi swapp sections, Tim holtz, die cutting, the AC designer destination stuff, a new section with tons of hero arts products including their ink cubes (of which I may have bought every single one), and they just started getting in new AC cardstock stickers, puffy stickers, and thickers alphas and phrases from different collections. The ones I’ve seen so far are items from the AC dreamer collection, AC Whatevs collection, the new Fourth of July collection, pink pasilee joyful notes, Jen Hadfield stardust, a bright pebbles summer collection, Vicki boutin discover and create, Maggie Holmes parasol, pebbles sunny blooms, plus the thickers from cedar house, a birthday collection and a wedding collection. I’m sure there were more but that is what I recall seeing. I love going to Joann as they always have fun stuff to look at and I’ve been enjoying finding pieces of the American Crafts collections. I would recommend going to the largest store in your area as for me, the larger the store, the larger the scrappy section. Although I don’t know if it is based on the demographic of the store too because some get the designer stuff and some don’t. Im sure there is some reasoning in there somewhere. I think I remember someone here mentioning that the new AC designer collections will be available in the designer destination section but does anyone know for sure? I think Paige Evans usually says if it will be but I haven’t been following her lately. Any news?

I haven't been to Joann in at least 8 months. Most times I can't even find something to use a coupon on. If they even have those anymore.

Our local JoAnn's is not well stocked and the sb offerings are minimal. It is not a "designer" location. There is a designer JoAnn's a few miles further away and it's worth the drive but I don't go very often (it involves bridge tolls).

Pretty sad TH stock, but was lucky on my last visit. I was able to buy four packs of distress spray, three bottles each and two Versa Fine ink pads with coupons for a total of $23.00.
Online is okay. Can't beat the prices on some things. Last order I bought a few Distress Ink pads for $4.59 each with free shipping. But, the stock and overall selection is hit and miss.

The Joann by my house is the old style and isn't very appealing. There is another one 20 minutes or so from me and it is the new, bright style. I really like shopping there.
If they stop selling paper crafting supplies it won't be much of a loss. I very rarely find something I need there. I like the sales on cardstock- I stock up on that.
I do like their home decorating stuff and the holiday decorations. I always find something good there. A lot of the ornaments on my tree are Joann.

Hmm, maybe I will go to J's today and check it out. But I really have to go to Target and they are not even in the same direction. Hobby Lobby is across from Joann, but I hardly ever go there either since they have made most of the papercrafting section their own brand and what is not, is mostly items I don't want. And no coupons either.

i am not surprised this would happen since they filed BK. we have a large Joann store but the SB section was been very lacking and not updated much since last year. i hope they aren't shrinking the SB/papercrafting department in favor of items like As Seen on TV stuff, Spa items or expanded home decor. They are out of bankruptcy and did not close any stores. Apparently the stores are now privately owned. We have a relatively new Joann's in the area. The place is huge! It is used to be a hardware store. There is a huge class area, and lots of scrapbooking, fabrics, and art supplies. I haven't been to the older one in the area. That place needed a facelift, I hope it got one.

I stopped into JoAnn's last night. I probably haven't been there in six months. It used to be one of my go-to places because there was so much to buy. I was shocked last night. So many empty shelves. I bought a couple of things that were on sale. It was sad in there.

Our JoAnn's is old and awful. I don't go unless I specifically need something there.

I found a little info here www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/craft-retailer-joann-approved-exit-bankruptcy-slash-505-mln-debt-2024-04-25/Our Michaels is bright white and cheerful but the Joann down the street is all still full of that weird buff/almond color shelving which makes it look very dated. That plus the horrible lighting makes it really hard to do important things like match colors, which I find very annoying.

Hmm if they’re making changes I should check the one nearest me. I haven’t been there in several years and they had pretty much nothing. Plus it was small, cramped, and had poor lighting.
I just checked their website and the paper was mostly their house brand with some DCWV (I had no idea they were still around). Dies and stamps were ones that have been around for years. Oh well maybe I’ll check it out in person in a month or two.

Oh I wonder if I could find coupons online? We have a small store in town that I’ve never been to. A coupon would be a good incentive to stop in. I miss b&m stores!

Thanks! I ended up looking online and they are offering $2 shipping today. When I tried to do a pick up from store, nothing was available, which doesn’t surprise me. I ended up buying a few things and I’m excited to get my hands on some new paper.

My kid and I went to Joanns on Monday and they were getting in a ton of new fabric but the rest of the store looked fairly empty.
