Someone on another thread mentioned what kind of posts they liked and I thought it was an interesting topic.
My favorite? Silly controversial ones like decorative towel threads. I love them so much.
I also enjoy reading about regional/cultural differences- things like fry sauce and Ohio chicken sandwiches or how do you pronounce a certain word.
I love talking about food, too. And animals.
I really like the ones where we are supportive of each other. The peas are really good at that.
Ones I'm "meh" on: Political threads. Sometimes they are really interesting but a lot of the time it is the same couple of people with the same opinions. They are important but they can be pretty repetitive.
Ones I don't like: Games

I’m pretty much word for word! I like the real estate ones too and those posted by librarylady.

I like ones that anyone can post an answer to and relate to. Usually light hearted in nature.
This board skews heavily to the well-to-do, wealthy peas. I'll admit, I'm not one of them. Threads looking for the best restaurant recommendations for a destination vacation are something I just have no reference for.
Ask me for feedback on your lovely flowering garden, or an adorable pet photo? I'm there!

Ones where I learn new things---both facts/stories/etc. sort of "things", but also regional differences or even just differences in how we all live our everyday lives. Also any real estate/house listings. We moved a few years back, and then had the house appraised, and during that time I saw so many same-same-same looking houses around here--ugh! So I particularly love when someone posts a house that bucks current trends. And I guess related to my first bit--I do enjoy the "How do you pronounce" threads.

I like the ones about regional differences too!
We don't have as many PVM posts anymore but those can be fun and/or brutal, and help you see things from a different perspective.

I love the regional difference threads in particular, but in general agree with your preferences, artbabe. DH was baffled on our recent trip to Australia when I mentioned certain things about the way Aussies do or say things. How do you know that? The Peas, of course!

Like: Fluff posts (fry sauce, how do you get ready in the morning, etc.) Realtor ones Polls (not political) Birthday post (although I am bad at checking it, but I always look on my birthday.. so rude of me) Recommendations: like where to shop or try this out, kinda like our own little TikTok version..haha Like but don't like, I try to support ones that are asking for prayers/hugs/wishes.. I try to put in good thoughts/prayers. Photography/Pets/celebrity talk/pop culture
Eh: Food (usually ya'll are posting stuff I don't like) haha - just give me a bowl of cereal and I am good Healthy ones.. haha.. I avoid it as much as possible HAHAHA
Hate: Games Politics
This isn't in anyone in particular, but ones that are really really long and hard to follow... (and I probably have done it myself) There are some that get so deep and about two lines in and I'm usually out.

I would love it if the TV/movie one wasn't one big thread - I would love to talk about random TV shows but don't have the bandwidth to scroll through that. I also am a sucker for the celebrity gossip ones; the real estate ones and then just random other ones that grab my attention.

The What Are You Reading? Thread is my never miss. And I thoroughly enjoy the What’s for Dinner thread. For some reason I find it comforting. Any thread that gets me thinking outside of my comfort zone is great. Product recommendations, tv/movie threads, interesting facts and random information are like potato chips to me - can’t stop at just one.
I am staying away from politics except for getting factual news because it totally stresses me out. And I don’t play games so those don’t interest me.

Favorites are: jeremysgirl threads because they are always thought provoking, interesting, and I like to see other peas thoughts and ideas. Recipe threads (new recipes tried, looking for a recipe, etc) Fluff threads like the towel and bedding ones, about pets, etc Medical because I like to read the updates and outcomes and hope all is well. Meh are: some political threads, vacations, homes for sale Non favorite: some political threads (the long ones because I don't have the time to weed through days and tweets to see if anything came up) Games What are you watching What are you reading

I like regional differences threads the most - food, speech, customs, etc. It surprises me, coming from a big metro area, that things are done so differently, even within the US. It shows that you can live in a big city and still be in a "bubble". It interests me to read about life outside of my little world.
Fluff threads are fun.
Political threads - I do find some interesting. I am not as eloquent or knowledgeable as many of you are, so I don't always participate in those. I don't read the long misc. political post. I prefer the individual topic ones.
I don't open the games or the daily meal thread.

I like the ones where we are asked a random question about our lifes/dislikes or how we do things, such as the 'do you use a top sheet thread?'
Also enjoy political posts because I live in an area where I really can't discuss politics with most people and it is so nice to find 'my people.'
Real estate listings
A good 'what would you do?' post can be a very interesting discussion.
(I never check the birthday thread because I assume a lot of people are like me and lie on-line about when their actual birthday is.)

I usually look for fluff but do look at the political ones. I like to see others thoughts on what’s going on. I would love to see more recipe threads. I do look at the monthly craft thread and the prime/netflix thread. I sometimes look at the 5 things list and the purge organization thread.
I don’t look at the game ones.

My number #1 criteria for a good post is one in which people actually interact. This seems to me to be the biggest thing that keeps going missing more and more as the years go on. I'll give you an example I mentioned the other day. I hate when someone asks some really meaningless things like what color socks do you prefer? And then 20 people answer going red, blue, purple, gray wool, etc. and there's very little discussion of any constructive or interesting kind. It seems like more and more this is the way things are going here. Even the dinner thread which I have been a part of for many years and always enjoyed seems lately like interaction/discussion is slim. People post their day/dinner and then that's it. This is why when I post a thread I follow along interacting with all the responses that strike me as interesting. I'm interested in relationships. I want to hear what you think about things that really matter. I don't care if you have mismatched socks. But I absolutely do want you to share your hand-knitted socks on the craft thread. seriously I know I'm biased but it's the best thread on the NSBR board.

I like random posts that go all over the place and off the rails and have no rules.
(I hate it when someone here actually posts something like “don’t judge” or “keep your opinions to yourself” — um isn’t that the point of a message board lol. I also hate when someone says “should I wear this” and the first 3 responses are “why do you care what anyone thinks wear what you want!”)

The PVM and WWTPD threads are my favorites. Also like the reading threads. I read all of the political threads, probably for validation as I have very few people I can discuss politics with in my rural red county. I read the What’s for Dinner thread and enjoy it, though I usually only participate with an occasional like. Some of the look at this house threads are fun.
Usually scroll past the games threads.

Favorite thing posts Travel & food Anything with pictures-even though I barely post them Weird facts like library lady posts or the CHA mentioned in the peas sick dd thread Find me threads Should I wear this? Makeup threads I love when a peas child gets married and there are pictures. I love wedding pictures generally. I also like to hear about others’ traditions especially out of the US General news that’s not too political Women’s health issues
I avoid games not because I hate them but because I don’tplay a lot of games I avoid the politics threads

Same as most of those already mentioned. "WWYD" or "WDTPT" in a thread title has me tripping over myself racing to open it. Food threads Real estate threads "Fluff" threads How do you pronounce... Oh, and polls! I LOVE polls! It doesn't matter what the subject is, you give me a poll and I'm gonna answer it. DH was baffled on our recent trip to Australia when I mentioned certain things about the way Aussies do or say things. How do you know that? The Peas, of course! My friends are often surprised and curious about my knowledge of the US, and US politics. Yep, it's The Peas, of course!

My favorite threads are the threads about things to do for fun and travel threads. I read for entertainment and enjoy that stuff. I really like jeremysgirl's thought provoking threads. It gives me stuff to contemplate and sometimes I find inner truths when I read those threads. The Netflix thread is another one that I enjoy. I get good recommendations for movies and shows. Of course, my favorite has to be the dinner thread, for obvious reasons. ITA that we need to get back to our chats. I miss some of the old gang and wish they'd come back to us. The craft thread is a good one, too. We have some very talented peas on this board.
