Good morning.
Thank you so much to our lovely @cadoodelbug. She starts our thread so brilliantly and her photos only add to fun of her posts.
We had such a nice time. It was relaxing, pretty and just plain nice. I'm happily relaxed.
Dinner might be tacos or rechauffe from last night.
What's on your menu?
Ods is here, but leaving today. He'll be back on Sunday, since his brother comes home tmw. Woohoo. This weekend is gonna be filled w/family fun. Though tmw am I finally have a knitting lesson in order to learn to fix mistakes. That way I can actually finish a project.
What is everyone up to this weekend?
I'll have to spend some quality time catching up on the thread.
Happy, relaxing, enjoyable weekend to all!

Welcome back, scrapmaven . I'm glad y'all had fun. Enjoy family time this weekend! Dinner will be pork chops with baked yams. TGIF!! Day 3 –The Golden Circle of Iceland Part 1 First we headed to Thingvillir National Park where there is an open-air governmental assembly that was established in 930 and continued until 1798. The entire area was amazing and history of The Mid Atlantic ridge runs through this area where tectonic plates are moving in opposite direction. Sometimes our guide didn’t speak English well enough to explain things but the beauty was fascinating. Anyway, there were fissures and we had fun taking pictures with them. You can tell it was cold because everyone was bundled up! Then we took a group picture before hiking along a wall of lava that was formed centuries ago. I am where the red line is and DH is way in the back by the blue line. To be continued tomorrow with our walk along this incredible walkway to a waterfall.

Thank you so much to our lovely @cadoodelbug. She starts our thread so brilliantly and her photos only add to fun of her posts. Her pictures are lovely. I just wish I could see them on the computer. I've got to get out my phone each day and see little tiny pics. LOL! We had such a nice time. It was relaxing, pretty and just plain nice. I'm happily relaxed. This makes me so happy to hear. Relaxation is a good thing. This weekend is gonna be filled w/family fun. I love this for you! Enjoy your boys! I need to take my car in today. They have the part in for the service necessary. I also need to just buy the car today. My lease is technically up tomorrow. So I need to get this resolved. I was up at 4 this morning so I can log out at 2:30 and call it a day. It's been a slow one anyway. For that I am glad. I have been threatening to make a chickpea potpie for like 3 days now. So hopefully tonight is the night.

More great pictures, cadoodlebug. You are giving me wanderlust. I’m happy your trip was relaxing scrapmaven. Time with family is even better. I’m not going to my mom’s this weekend. She refuses to use air conditioning and I’m not a masochist. My siblings will have to do the heavy lifting of doing her bidding. 😊 I’m going to do some yard work interspersed with inside chores to keep from combusting in the heat and humidity here. Big excitement could be a trip to Home Depot for more mulch. I’d post pictures but they might interfere with everyone’s enjoyment of Cadoodlebug’s pics! Dinner will be something light because heat kills my appetite. I’m definitely ready for some cooler days.

We’re having pork chops, broccoli, salad and egg noodles for dinner here. I went out this morning for blood work because my doctor discovered “you’re 62 now!” Ha ha! Hoping my numbers are good! Glad you enjoyed your getaway scrapmaven. Loving your vacation photos cadoodlebug!

I’m going to do some yard work interspersed with inside chores to keep from combusting in the heat and humidity here. I don't know where you are, but it is so hot right now in mid-Michigan and I know it's far worse the more south you go. The thing is, right now it is 93% humidity. You can't even breathe out there.

So glad you had a relaxing time away scrapmaven. I got up super early to get my walk in. More high temps and humidity today. It's funny how people are surprised at how humid it gets here. I need to get pictures ordered for my PL and I hope to get a little scrapbooking done. I am working on cleaning out our closet. DH is dragging his feet on purging his clothes. He hates to get rid of anything. I told him that I don't care what he keeps in the garage or basement but we are going to get some things purged in the rest of the house. Think it's going to be a pretty quiet weekend. We may take the Jeep for a long drive tomorrow and stop at a winery or two. Dinner is going to be BLT sandwiches. My favorite meal when it is hot outside.

KelleeM, according to one menu that we saw on our getaway we're no longer senior citizens. We're honored citizens. Getting older isn't fun, but it can save you moolah. Just remember that. If you have to grow old at least save 10% off on Tuesdays! cadoodlebug, which adventure on your vacation was your favorite? You have so many fun photos. I wanna go, too. Judy26, good for you for taking care of yourself. jeremysgirl, were you contemplating trading in your car for a new car and lease? It seems like you just picked up your car yesterday, but I know it's been a while. I love the blue color that you chose.

It's funny how people are surprised at how humid it gets here. It's ridiculous. I mean the air is practically rain. It's so damn thick. jeremysgirl, were you contemplating trading in your car for a new car and lease? It seems like you just picked up your car yesterday, but I know it's been a while. I love the blue color that you chose. I had a 39 month lease!! So I've had my car over 3 years now. I negotiated my buyout price at the time of the lease just in case. I just need to pull it out and take it with me. I had planned to buy for quite a while now. I have less than 19,000 miles on this car. And I could never get a car this year, this mileage for the buyout price I negotiated. I did just call there though and he said he would write up the paperwork and I could come sign everything on Monday at 11. So I'll do that. He said we'd be good until then. I love my car.

I just wish I could see them on the computer. I wonder why you can't? I post them from my computer. The thing is, right now it is 93% humidity. You can't even breathe out there. Welcome to Louisiana! My high school wasn't air conditioned and it was really hot. But, you know as youngsters, we didn't feel the heat like we do when we're older. You look so cute inside the fissure. I wouldn't do it at first because it was so uneven in there. Getting in and sitting down was not easy ~ I just knew I was going to twist my ankle! which adventure on your vacation was your favorite? That's a tough one. Each country had different things to offer. Silly as it sounds, the two overnight ferries were wonderful. Perhaps because it gave us some down time and we were so relaxed. I think of all the countries, Norway was our favorite.

I sometimes have issues with seeing pictures on the computer, right now it seems I can see everyone's. Usually it was leannec that I couldn't see. It was weird.
Dinner is always up in the air. It was so far in the air last night, we never got it. Good thing my neighbor made Spanish rice. We ate that.
We will be plugging along with the bathroom this weekend.
I took yesterday off work and we hung drywall and now have the plumbing in the shower done. Next is putting up the shower walls so we can at lease shower in there.

Happy 2nd Friday! (Due to Juneteenth for me) I was up early to take my mom to a procedure for her back. She was supposed to be anesthetized but had to drink some OJ this morning for a diabetic low so they ended up doing it with a local anesthetic. She's a trooper though and I was back home to start work at 9am. I just took a nap during my lunch hour because I had to be up at 5:30 and I was dragging. Dinner tonight will probably be pesto ravioli unless I can talk someone into going out. I'm tired of cooking and want to be pampered Hope you all have a great day!

Another hot and humid day here in Southwestern Ontario. I’m definitely over it and looking forward to a break in the humidity.
DH and I went to get fries from the fry truck and stopped at the bulk food store in the way home. We just wanted to get out of the house for a bit.
Supper will be grilled pork chops, baked potatoes and some sort of veggie.

Hi all! TGIF!
I've been working on pulling together all of my evaluations for sessions and speakers today, and will then probably take the last hour of the work day to tackle some refunds. Fortunately, I already had my evaluation calculator set up, so all I have to do is filter by questions and responses and plug in numbers. I have way too much fun with Excel, but it certainly makes this task much faster! The only thing that annoys me is when I see comments that say things like, "See above" since I'm not going to hunt through thousands of responses to see what was said above. But I digress.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy Friday. We came to the lake even though I don’t feel like doing anything. I can just as easily lay around here. It’s no cooler though. There’s plenty of wildlife to watch. Dd3 wants me to try and go to the farmers market here tomorrow. Last time she bought a tomato plant from the Amish that is growing and producing like crazy. She wants another one. If I go I’ll get one for me too. Hopefully next week the high temps leave. I’m over it. Hahahahaha No idea on dinner. I haven’t shopped really all week. Enjoy your boys scrapmaven. I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to go in the fissures cadoodlebug.

Good evening all, A late check in for me today! I had a relatively quiet morning - mainly checking in with family. DS says his MiL is ‘no change, really’ so it’s still wait and see there. My dad let us know that my stepmom had a fall and has injured her shoulder, so he had called an ambulance for her. As they both currently have Covid, he couldn’t go with her and she is in isolation at the hospital. After hours of waiting, she finally had a scan on the shoulder at 4:30am, about 14 hours after she was taken to hospital. She’s obviously in overnight at least and dad didn’t have results when I last heard from him. After she was so sick back in January, this is a big setback in her health, so I am really worried for her.
This afternoon I met a work colleague for coffee and we had a nice chat. Yesterday, when I told DH I was going to this particular mall and could get fish there for dinner, asked if they would also cook it for him. I took this as a hint and called our local Greek restaurant for a reservation. We are just home after a lovely meal - prawn saganaki, grilled fish and baby calamari with salad, then Greek desserts, finished off with a shot of ouzo.
Tomorrow I have a pottery class, which is part two of the voucher DH bought me for Christmas. I have never done anything like this, so I am looking forward to it.

It had been raining the last couple of days and today is very hot and humid. My house painters came today to scrape and wash down my house. They will be priming on Monday. Keeping fingers crossed that we don't get rain. For dinner we had KFC. I love their coleslaw

I forgot to take the phyllo dough out of the freezer so I decided to go out to eat. There's a cool vegan restaurant downtown I follow on social media. Today's special was the watermelon "steak" salad. The watermelon was marinated in something sesame and then grilled. It was delicious.

Wow jeremysgirl that meal looks delicious. It would never occur to me to make a watermelon “steak”. I don’t love beef so to me this would be good. Also I had no idea you could negotiate your buy out when you begin a lease. For some reason dh is anti-lease.

ntsf, day 2 after gallbladder surgery was not fun. Day 3 was the turnaround the pain was controlled w/regular tylenol. Nowadays they don't prescribe narcotics unless it's absolutely essential. I hope that your dh sleeps well tonight and feels much comfier by tmw. sueg, I'm sorry to hear that your stepmum is in trouble, again. I hope that she will be OK and recover well. I'm so sorry to hear about your ddil's mil, as well. My thoughts are w/your entire family. jeremysgirl, that watermelon steak looks quite tasty. Nice that you found a new restaurant to enjoy. If you want to learn pottery then I hope that you'll take lessons. Did I mention that I'm doing a knitting lesson in the am? I'll learn to fix mistakes. Then I can really post on the craft thread. Clearly, I'm a fan of taking fun lessons. teddyw, you have really been knocked out by this cold. I hope that you feel fine, very quickly. Enough is enough. I want to make you chicken soup w/a matzoh ball. bklyngal62, I don't like fast food, but I use to love KFC coleslaw. A lot of people love it. Take 2. They're small. Marina, I hope that you are enjoying your dinner.
