i’ve had the realization that it’s time to use my “good stuff” October Afternoon, Basic Grey, all the things i’ve held on to for 20 years of scrapping. I’ve been using stamps and inks and it feels SO GOOD! i’m not being morbid, just started counting the years and it’s definitely time.
i have lots of projects to complete at this stage of life and i’m looking forward to stepping into my “vault”.

Absolutely, good for you! I used to hold onto my prettiest papers and embellishments just in case a better project came along. It never did. Now I say to myself "what are you waiting for?" There's never a good answer, so I use it up. I'm also worried about developing something like Parkinson's, which my Mom has, or Arthritis, which my MIL has, and being unable to craft anymore. The time to do it is NOW

good job - using them means you get to enjoy them on layouts etc...not just buried deep in the stash

I find that since switching to pocket albums I don't feel the need to save stuff anymore since I use so much less of any one collection each time I use it, kwim? It's so nice to buy something new and use some of it right away!

Yay!!!🙌🏽 Reading these type of threads gives me happy endorphins and warms my heart. I’m so glad you’ve discovered the value in using the “precious” things. I hope you end up with many layouts and filled books!

I find that I like my layouts a lot more when I use the good stuff. But I haven't actually done a Lo in a long time. But I am working on using my stamps.

I think about that, how life can be gone in an instant.

If I could like this 50 times, I would. I love using stuff up. Why not use up the best stuff first? YAY.

i'm in the same boat as you. that precious vault has been busted wide open. there is no more "good stuff". it is all free game and it feels liberating.

Good for you! I held onto all my "good stuff" such as Basic Grey, Kaisercraft, Fancy Pants etc, back when I used to do paper scrapbooking. Then I stopped scrapping in about 2009, and guess what? All of my "good stuff" is still sitting on my paper shelves, literally gathering dust! All that money wasted! Why didn't I just use it? Anyway, I am in the process of photographing all of my paper, so that I can use it in my digital scrapping. Even though it is now 15-20+ years old and out of date, I still love most of it.

Yay for using the "good stuff"!! I have some Basic Grey papers I've been hanging on to and I've recently dug them out & started incorporating the papers on layouts. It does feel good to actually use the pretty paper!!
