Zermatt was a delightful village at the base of the Matterhorn. It did not allow gasoline powered vehicles in the town. I wonder what will be left after this and how many people lost their lives today.

Whoa, that is terrifying. The damage is going to be awful. Hope hoping everyone has managed to stay safe.

How sad/terrifying. I loved Zermatt. I learned when in a foregin country, be sure you have money to pay for a bathroom. A gal got locked in the stall and we had to go find coins to get her out as we had not done a money exchange as of then. lol
Hope the town recovers quickly with little damage and no injuries or deaths.

Is it too soon to say I’m glad we canceled the trip we had planned for the fall?

How scary! I hope everyone is safe. Such a beautiful part of the world. Of course you hate to hear about an destruction of property and scenery. But most importantly,I worry about the people that live there.
