I made a post on the NSBR side asking for cards for my critically ill granddaughter who is still in surgery since around noon today having a liver transplant as a result of acute onset of Wilson’s Disease. You can find the link here with the full story and where to send cards. These would be such a special surprise for her when she awakens next week—the doctors plan to kept the incision open and slowly close over several more surgeries as the liver shrinks to fit her petite size body. I have stupid questions (you can count on me  ), katiekaty: Are these specifically "get well" sorts of cards or specifically NOT (I know some of the card charities specifically don't want get well cards because they don't want patients to dwell on/be reminded of their conditions)? Do we just sign our names or explain that we're one of their grandmother's "invisible friends"? |
