I have company coming tomorrow, so I debated going, even for a couple of hours, but I went. Yes, it was small. Most of the conventions that have come to DFW area of Texas have been, ever since COVID. I have felt that they were still worth attending, though.
I almost asked here if I should go or not, but as I typed the post, I realized that I really did want to go. Do I need anything? No. Like the last convention, most of what I bought was for Disney layouts. I now have 1 older trip to finish, and 2 more recent ones to scrapbook.
Could I have bought more? Yes. Despite how small it was, there were still a lot of lovely things, and I have no LSS near me. However, I could only stay for about two hours, I have a craft room that is groaning with abundance, and I also struggle with knowing “when is enough actually enough….” Having a time limit was probably good for me.
This week I have been trying to get a lot of things locked up, since I will have some little folks among my guests. I am trying to eliminate sharp objects and choking hazards. I bought nothing that would fall into either category except a piercing tool that will be locked in the craft closet.
Is anyone else here attending GASC Denton? Did you find enough to make it worthwhile for you? If not the Denton one, are you going to GASC or another convention anytime soon?
When you go, are you just going to shop in general, or do you look for specific things? (I do both.)

I attended a show in Novi, MI in May. It is a bit smaller after Covid, but still a good number of vendors. I went with a few other friends and they are quicker shoppers than I am so I didn’t get to all the booths. I like you, don’t need a thing, but that didn’t stop my from buying stuff! I just love seeing products in real life! I’m single and retired. My guilty pleasures are eating out quite often & buying scrapbooking supplies!

This was the first year in a long time that I did not go! I'm not happy they moved it to Denton which is a much further drive for me. My friends and I decided to skip it this year but I did think about it over the weekend & wonder if I was missing out on anything LOL! There are a couple of vendors that go to GASC that do not go to Scrapbook Expo that I usually like to buy from. I also like the t-shirt vendor that goes to GASC and I usually pick up a new crafty tee every year!
I'm happy to hear you found some things you liked there! When I usually go I have a list of themes I am looking for but I also like to just look & see if anything catches my eye. I did attend the Scrapbook Expo this year and found several things I was looking for.

I also went to Scrapbook Expo, but it was at least a 45 minute drive for me. It took me less than 20 to get to Denton, and the parking was free. I had to pay for parking at Scrapbook Expo. I’ve had to drive 45 minutes to an hour for most of the scrapbook conventions, but it’s been harder to do longer drives or spend a full day the last few years. My DH was disabled by a heart attack a few years ago. I’m his caregiver, and I can’t be gone all day at a convention like I used to do. Even driving up to an hour has been worth it for me, but the longer the drive, the less time that I can spend shopping. I’ve always found some great things at the conventions, things that don’t seem to be available online. For example, Tall Mouse is a company that offers some fun dies, and always has bins of bargain dies that are really cute. They offer far more at conventions than they do online, especially when it comes to cute Disney related dies. They were at Scrapbook Expo, and I bought a ton of their dies. Just in the short time between Scrapbook Expo and GASC, though, they had far fewer selections at this one. I still bought more of their dies, though. The new LSS in Southlake also had a booth there. It was crowded, though, I didn’t have a lot of time to browse, and I figured that I would try to pay them a visit in person soon. Southlake isn’t a super long drive for me.

I went with my bestie and we had a great time! It’s one of the 2-4 times a year we get together to scrap.
I spent $200 on scrappy things, and finally caved and bought the “old lady” massage pillow. LOL
Love the new location. I’m hoping they fix a few things before next year, but we’ll be back!

I agree that the conventions have lots of things & themes I can't get online which is why I love going as well. If they stay in Denton next year, we may end up caving in and going. One of my friends comes from Midlothian so for her it's much further than Arlington.

It must work & be a good seller for them since they keep coming back! I didn't make it this year (kind of a protest with them moving to Denton - haha I'm sure they missed me!) We may try it next year since I've heard good things. I especially like that they don't charge for parking. Glad you had fun with your bestie!

Here is their website, name and info: The Gathering PlaceBella & Grace Creative Arts (The Gathering Place) Art supply store 8850 Davis Blvd · (469) 879-1602 I have no affiliation with them. I haven’t made it over there to see their store. I found their listing online before GASC and wanted to go to check them out, but I haven’t had time yet. Based on their website, they offer a lot of home decor projects to make with scrapbook supplies, but it looks like they also do layout kits and carry some papers, etc. Their hours: Thursdays 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Wednesday by appointment

I went to The Gathering Place today. They are a Paper Arts store, with a wide variety of goodies for junk journals, home decor, as well as for scrapbooking and card making.
I have a craft room full of beautiful papers, ephemera, etc. I still managed to spend about $50, and that was showing restraint.
It was really nice actually visiting a scrapbook store again. It’s been a very long time since I had the opportunity.
