S/o of gar's thread, what hobby does not appeal at all? Personally, caving and especially caving that needs scuba equipment. I've seen a few documentaries about various tragic caving accidents over the years and I'm so horrified how quickly things go pear shaped. I'm not sure what it's called but cycling at speed down a mountain or through a narrow path in a forest where you are missing trees and rocks, no thank you.

Scuba diving, caving (which I hadn't even thought of until others posted it, lol), sky diving.. no thank you.
Also, tedious things like beading, or embroidery, or sewing.

All of the above!
You couldn’t pay me enough to go into deep caves let alone ones with water/tunnels 😱
Anything high like the bungee jumping - nope!

Anything where I could drown, suffocate, freeze to death, or get my head bashed in.
Apologies to knitters, but I'm left-handed and was taught by my left-handed mom who knitted right-handed so it always boggled my mind. Knitting. I also live in Florida where there's very little need for knitted goods, so there's that.

That's how I got into crocheting amigurumi - in Texas, blankets, scarves, and sweaters don't get a ton of use. To answer the OP, like most here, I avoid anything hobby could easily result in death or dismemberment. Also, I want to be a person who likes hiking, but I really don't like it at all. I like walking on a flat, preferably paved surface. I don't like slippery gravel and unstable rocks and near-vertical climbs up or down.

Anything that involves putting my head under water (scuba, snorkel, diving), being in dark cramped places (caving) or involves extreme heights (sky diving, bungee diving).

Anything involving heights, anything that involves catching or killing of living creatures of any sort, and collecting something, just for the sake of collecting.

It's called mountain biking and dh and ds do it a lot. Several bike trips a year to famous biking areas, and several times weekly where we live. There are trails that say things like death to the right, because it drops hundreds of feet straight down, and it suggests that if you're nervous to walk your bike. They aren't adrenaline junkies in other ways, but the mountain biking they do is nuts. I do baby rides only. I will not bungee jump, because just no, nor will I jump off of anything into water, because my depth perception sucks. My parents had a jumping deck about 12feet up when they lived on a lake. My parents, all of my siblings and their spouses, all of my gazillion nieces and nephews have jumped off of it. Ds and I are the only 2 that never did. My mom was 76 the last time she did it.

Where I live, there are a ton of bicyclists who ride around on our curvy mountain roads. The local college even has a bicycling team. I HATE when I get stuck behind them, because there are a ton of places where I can't safely pass them, so that is one hobby I will NEVER take up.
I'm not the outdoorsy type, so I'm not into hiking, backpacking, skiing, etc. I do love white water rafting, and I'm hoping I can go at least once this summer.
As far as boring, indoor hobbies I won't take up, that includes drawing and painting, cleaning (ala Monica Geller), and playing the drums.

I drove people nuts because with plain knitting, I could knit right to left, left to right.. no need to turn item around.

Oh my gosh, all the talk about caving is giving me the chills. No way. Absolutely not. I would jump out of a plane with a parachute, that would really be fun actually, before I would go in any cave. No thank you.

Wanted to add, I recognise the skill and bravery needed to do the extreme sports. I'm just not that skilled or brave but I do admire those who challenge themselves so much.

I don't really think of sports or exploring as a "hobby", but I guess that fits?
I wanted to crochet, made a scarf, and called it good because it was just too confusing. Same with knitting, which my very not-traditional-type of grandma surprisingly knew how to do and taught me as a girl. I didn't get very far though. I admire everyone's work, and quilters too. I find it too slow and I get bored easily, leaving behind unfinished projects.
I like things that move quickly, that I can get done fairly quickly. I even find oil paints annoying because they take so long to dry.

And I forgot, mountain climbing! Like the extreme, always-snowy ones. No way, not fun, I don't care what the top of Mount Everest looks like and in any case I can see it on TV. Littered with dead bodies, too.

Scuba diving. Just thinking about it has me wanting to go into a panic attack. I’m not great with getting into water that can contain sharks, I’ve done it all over the world just to say I did, but didn’t stay in the oceans long. I blame my formative years of Jaws and living by the Great Lakes where it wasn’t a worry
I’m afraid of heights but managed to climb Mt Fuji. It had great paths so I felt in control, beyond that, no.

Anything that involves activity outside is not something I’m interested in doing as a hobby.
I do enjoy wakeboarding, kayaking, hiking, walking but not to the level of hobby status.
Knitting and crochet are not things I’m interested in doing because I was taught many years ago and it was just frustrating to me. I love seeing all the projects people make tho.
Miniatures and miniature painting are also out for me- too tedious.
Stamp or coin collecting- nope.
I’m sure there’s more.

Anything that involves putting my head under water (scuba, snorkel, diving), I get it. It isn't for everyone. I love snorkeling but I failed scuba certification because my ears wouldn't clear and I would have had to be cleared by a dive doctor. I really wanted to dive the Great Barrier Reef for my birthday, but I couldn't manage it.

scuba diving. I couldn't even manage snorkeling.
sky diving. Heights don't bother me but I get motion sick in small planes. Plus, I have the Air Force perspective. I see no point in jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft.
drawing. I enjoy painting but I really don't like sketching. I have a book currently out of the library on botanical sketching and it is a chore to get through it even though I know practicing these sketches will help me with other art projects I have in mind.
