I just recently discovered that I love iced coffee. Unfortunately, I found this out on a recent trip to Chicago when I got it more than once at a Starbucks down the street from my hotel on Michigan Avenue, and it was $9 a pop. LOL I decided I was going to make it myself because that price a little steep for cheap ol' me. I bought a bottle of Stok brand dark brew iced coffee along with a bottle of sugar free vanilla syrup (my grocery store brand) and poured the coffee over ice, mixed in a splash of the syrup and couple teaspoons of half and half. It is soooooo tasty! I don't like sweet coffee normally, but the bit of vanilla syrup gives it just the right amount of sweetness. It's just as good as Starbucks, IMO. Do you make your own iced coffee? How do you make it?

If I have leftover coffee I’ll chill it in the fridge in a quart jar. I’ll add flavored creamer and ice. I keep it pretty simple.

I only drink iced coffee. I don't like many of the store pre-bottled brands however. My favorite is actually the powdered trader Joe's instant iced coffee. I like mine pretty strong and the bottled ones just don't cut it for me. I like that I can make this one a strong as I like. And it is much cheaper. I have tried various contraptions to make my own at home but it's such a nuisance cuz you have to make sure you get all the grounds wet before you soak it otherwise it ends up bitter. The trader Joe's stuff is so cheap I just buy a jar on my weekly tj runs. I just add the tiniest bit of vanilla creamer to it.

NO! Coffee should be hot. Iced coffee is an abomination! But good for you figuring out a recipe that works at home. I've pretty much given up Starbucks because it has gotten SO expensive over the past year or so.

I started a thread a little while ago asking for people’s favorite. Many people responded they make their own iced coffee or cold brew.
I’ve tried the Stok cold brew, unsweetened, and I like it. I drink my coffee black, so I don’t add any sweeteners. I’ve also bought a few cans of Japanese Iced coffee.
I prefer cold brew to iced coffee, more flavorful, or it could be just the brands I tried weren’t that good.

Love it!
I use instant ground coffee to make my iced coffee and make my own syrups. This allows me to do decaf.
I take 1 cup of cold water and add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee grounds.
Stir well till foamy.
Fill 32 ounce cup with ice. Fill with milk to top then add syrup.
My go to right now is brown sugar cinnamon simple syrup and blackberry simple syrup.

I make excellent coffee but I don’t like it hot anymore but do make my own iced and it’s delicious. I have access to excellent coffee beans on the coast.

It definitely won't replace my daily cups of hot coffee, but I just got home from a hot hike, and it sounded good. LOL

I don't like coffee in any of its forms! I've tried, I just can't get past the gross aftertaste.
I drink tea instead, usually iced, sometimes hot, always unsweet. It's a dangerous game trying to get UNsweet tea here in the south, but I find sweet tea to be detestable. It's like a flat pop/soda to me...vile
Someone told me unsweet tea was Un-American and I reminded her who won the war. 😂

And LOL at your comment about tea being un-American. LOL My favorite way to drink hot tea is very strong with a bit of cream in it. I have a friend whose mom was British, and she introduced me to it. I don't always drink it that way, but I do love it like that.

It is soooooo tasty! I just ordered some Javy concentrate, so we will see where that goes. This - but Cold Brew - not iced coffee. There is a difference! I think the Cold Brew is smoother and more rich in flavor. I like either Starbucks black or the STOK black. It must be poured over nugget ice (love my nugget ice maker). I add a couple squirts of vanilla syrup. I can't do sugar free anything - it makes me feel so yucky. Some 1/2 & 1/2 and stir it up. Oh I love it - but only do one or two a week in the summer. I agree - the price at STBX is NUTS! Plus they aren't always that great. My STBX is in a grocery store, and the quality is hit or miss. And for what it costs, a miss is too much money down the drain. Whenever I get to the big city, the stand alone stores are always good.

I only drink iced coffee- at home and if I get coffee out (year round). I like a little coffee with my creamer 🤣 so I have a lot of things I add to my shot of nespresso on ice.

I drink iced coffee every morning of every day of the year! It's my FAVORITE!!
I used to frequent Starbucks way too much but I started making it at home 7 or 8 months ago and I just use Nescafe instant espresso and mix it with ice water, a little stevia and oat milk. It's delicious!

When I used to drink coffee, I spent a lot of time making sure my coffee stayed hot enough, so iced coffee has never appealed to me! That being said, I havent had coffee in almost 10 years

I like Stok over ice with some oat milk and a pump of flavored syrup.
I also will do a Nespresso double espresso shot over ice with milk and flavored creamer or syrup. Sometimes I just add some brown sugar to the shot of espresso instead of using syrup or flavored creamer.

I’ve developed an obsession with cold brew which I was ordering from Starbucks. I just started buying Stok unsweetened cold brew which gets the ol’ bowels going in the am. I pour myself a cup around 3 pm with a little heavy cream. Heaven.

Oh wow Just T That is an expensive cup of coffee. I do like an occasionally iced coffee. It was hot out the other day, not much sleep and I stopped at Starbucks and got a Venti with Sweet Cream for $6.11 which included tax. For Starbucks and the largest size available, didn't think that was too bad, but drive through coffee joints are overall expense. I don't make them at home. I drink my hot coffee in the morning and love my Rocky Mountain water, so that's basically what I drink throughout the day.

I LOVE iced coffee. I usually have an iced coffee when we go out for brunch. I also make it at home. If I'm making it for DSO and I, then I make up four double espresso shots (we like it strong) in my coffee machine - using coffee beans - then let the coffee cool in the fridge. Then I add the coffee to milk and ice cream, and put it in the blender.

Mmmm, I love iced coffee. I mostly make it at home with the remains of the morning pot. But if I'm out and about I might get a starbucks or wherever. My most recent favorite is the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso at SB.

I’ve been making my own since September and finding MamaD on tik tok. Never thought to use instant coffee but it’s so good. I prefer the nescafe decaf and use 2.5 tsp for my coffee. Then add ice, almond milk and some coffee creamer. I like my coffee sweet but am trying to reduce my sugar consumption so going to try and scale back a bit on the creamer.
MamaD has recipes to make your own creamers or syrups so I’m going to try that one day.

Do you make your own iced coffee? How do you make it? I do.
I'm not fancy at all though.
Ice in a glass, pour some half and half in. Fill the rest with coffee.

No. I don’t like it. I’ve tried so many different premade brands. I’ve tried making it at home and i’ve just never found anything I like.
Maybe it’s because I’m really not a very big coffee drinker. I have one 10 ounce mug of hot coffee every morning. Usually an 8 o’clock brand kcup, artificial sweetener and one or 2 teaspoons of coffeemate flavored liquid creamer. Because it takes me a while to drink one mug full, I have an electric coffee warmer on my end table. That’s it. I’m done for the day for drinking coffee.
