Hello summer! June is usually calmer than this with June gloom but this is the second heat wave. I am afraid what August will be like. Ugh!!
Hope you are all staying cool and hydrated.
Oh and it is 104° right now. 🙄 gross.

I'm in the N.Cal foot hills. Today is day 4 (Since June 5 which was the first day of heat here) and we're at 101 currently.
Usually we get 20-25 days 100+. I'm scared for what this year will give us.
To stay cool, we hang out inside and do stuff outside in the early mornings.

I am coastal, and it is somewhat warmer than normal, but it is not like it is inland. Today is about 82, tomorrow is supposed to be high 80’s with a small chance of thunderstorms. Haven’t had to turn on the A/C yet, knock on wood. June Gloom has been MIA all week. I hope it comes back!
Stay cool those of you with hotter temps!

I’m not a fan of summer. It’s 90° here. My seasonal depression has kicked it. I hate being stuck inside with the drapes drawn and the house all closed up.

I love being able to see the views of the local mountains and blue sky and trees as well as the sun shining in. But when it is 95+, the house is closed up.

I'm another one that gets a touch of summer depression. It's 86 in the house here and the a/c hasn't shut off for hours. It's simply not capable of keeping up with these kinds of temps. I have all the blackout curtains drawn, 2 fans going. It's just dark and miserable and I hate it. It's 103 outside right now and it can get so much worse than that in the summer here (Norcal). Last summer was really mild and I actually enjoyed it. We'll be at 110 or higher here in no time and I will be in my full summer hibernation mode.

I am fearful what next months Edison bill will be. Since we are obviously using more power than we did last year, the bill will be higher as we broke the cap from previous year. Ugh.
Okay just looked at the projected bill and I am going to cry. Holy crap.

We must be the lucky ones. High of 91 today, which is hot but not crazy. Still will be looking forward to it cooling down a bit. I'm in OC but not a coastal city.

It was supposed to get super hot here last weekend (94…. Which is hot for here), and we were supposed to get bad Santa Anna winds, but we never did. It got into the mid-80s a couple of days. We had really bad May Gray and June Gloom, so honestly, the heat is a nice change. (We were up in the mountains today and it was 87.)

May gray and June gloom are my favorite time of year. I hate the heat and I'm hoping it won't be so bad when we get home. I haven't looked at our home temps, but I'm guessing we might not be so bad based on katybee post.

I used to love summer but after being diagnosed with this stupid autoimmune disease, the heat/humidity really bother me and make me miserable to be out side. It's beyond uncomfortable now. We had our first heat wave last week, all the drapes were drawn. DS said "oh, here we go, we're entering cave season" Yes we are. Cave season will go thru September. I hate it.

Well, I went car shopping on Sunday which was the hottest day at like 97 and it was miserable. Even the sales guys were sluggish to show cars.
Ugh, gross.
It's a lot nicer today, but still hot. And after such a long gray spring I thought I'd welcome it but yeah, already over it. It's gonna be a long ass summer.

Looking forward to the next couple of days. Suppose to cool down to the mid-70’s before it heats up again.

I was over it by Saturday. I’m glad it’s a bit cooler today and really dreading August /September. I have been getting up at 6 just to do some walking before it heats up. The Watch duty has been chiming like crazy (fire app) the other night there was a fire close by that apparently was caused by fireworks (didn’t make it to the app) but heard all the trucks. This after another fire earlier this month got really close to homes just on the other side of the hill. 🤦♀️ Did that stop other neighbors from setting off more a day later - no. I am so thankful that they sent so many trucks and seem to have caught it quickly but come on people get a clue.
I melt in heat and hate having to avoid going out in the heat of the day.

Yesterday was Day 6 of 100+ for the summer and June isn't even over yet!
Next week is predicted to have 5-7 days 100+.
We usually get 20-25 100+ days most summers.
