I am on the hunt for a new fridge.
I want a french door/bottom freezer model in white. My goodness - there aren't a lot of choices!
One that keeps coming up is a Samsung. I am looking at Nebraska Furniture Mart online, to be delivered to me.
I know at one time a Samsung was a definite dud. Is that still the case, or have they gotten their act together?
I just can't decide what to get. I currently have a white side/side standard depth - that's the deeper one, right? Counter top is not as deep? I can't keep that straight!! I would prefer to go with one that doesn't quite stick out as much, but I can't go down in size too much. The 18 CF ones are just to small.
Gaaa... help! I don't want to drop 4 or 5 grand on one either...

I have a Samsung French door refrigerator with a freezer drawer at the bottom and love it. We didn’t get the one with the water dispenser.

I love mine. Granted the first one I got lasted about 7 years and honestly had problems in the freezer. However, when I got a new one, I got the exact same one. It is big and simple - no water or ice in the door and the ice is in the bottom freezer. It's great and so far has none of the issues that the first one did.
This is a french door, stainless about 28 cubic feet. Standard depth. We have a lot of condiments so I like the fact that there is no icemaker taking up space on top. I think it was like $1399 maybe a little more but I got it for $1200 on sale. Pretty sure I got it at lowes or best buy.

Well, we have a four door Samsung, now six years old. The freezer and refrigerator work fine, but we have repaired and replaced the ice maker four times. Also, the door bins have cracked or broken and I just noticed a crack on the handle trim. It is only two adults in the house.
Needless to say, though like the features and design, I am not impressed and in the future will not buy a Samsung.

LG is top rated in just about every type of fridge. Overall, French Door fridges rate a bit lower than other kinds (Consumer Reports).

About 7 years ago, we started replacing all of our appliances with Samsung. The only one that gave us a problem was the dishwasher and I think it could have been fixed. DH got frustrated trying to fund a repairman that didn’t have a long wait and went and bought an LG. I hate it. The top drawer won’t stay closed and I don’t think my dishes are as clean. When I asked Best Buy to come back out and look at it they said my floor was uneven. But the Samsung never had a problem with the drawers rolling open.

Our Samsung fridge is 14 years old and we have never had any problems with it. I want it to die but it just won't. I'm going to buy a new one and move this one to the garage. I will be buying another Samsung. We also have a Samsung residential fridge in our RV and it has never had any problems either.

We bought a Samsung five years ago. We only use the icemaker in the freezer, not the one on the door. I don't think it works any more.

I have the 4 door Samsung with ice maker in the door, and really like it. I’ve never had any problems with it. Had one similar in the house we moved from 4 years ago, and never had problems with it either. We have lived here 4 years. I really like the pull drawer feature.

I think it was Samsung that I was told was hard to service because of difficulty in getting parts. One of my criteria for buying new appliances is that the store I buy from services them.

The ice maker in the door was poo poo on my samsung French door fridge. We have the middle drawer, which I really like. We're gonna replace it and I'm not sure if it'll be Samsung or LG. I've had friends who have had issues w/their LG's, as well.

I bought a Samsung French door, freezer on bottom fridge earlier this year. I love it. I have the ice in the bottom, not on the door.

Wow, I hadn't heard that. My now ex and I bought a Samsung French door in 2008. My ex (who kept the house) still has the fridge and as far as I can tell (I'm over there once or twice a year) it is running fine. Have fun shopping!

I bought a French door Samsung back in 2014. Have had the ice maker repaired numerous times for $$$ and finally gave up and bought a counter top ice maker. Samsung knew there was a problem and yet kept making them like that and have been complete turds about everyone trying to get theirs fixed/replaced. Will never buy a Samsung again because of that.

Over the past 4 years, we had one, and it was replaced under warranty by another one. Both are French door models. The new one one had problems within a year, though we've been able to successfully have it repaired twice. The availability of people who will work on them in our area is slim - mind you, I live in a metro area - so someone comes from a small town 1.5 hours away to work on it. He taught us how to take the back off and clean it every 3 months, and we haven't had problems since. But who wants to take the back off and clean it every 3 months?

We have a Samsung French door refrigerator that is probably 10 years old now. I love the feature that you can open the one door just to get drinks and condiments and also the deli drawer inside. We turned off the ice maker in the front water/ice dispenser on the door as it kept freezing up and we now just get ice from the freezer ice maker below. It was a simple fix and we have had zero problems with it since. I've probably jinxed myself, but we love it.

I've had my Samsung french door, freezer on bottom with two ice makers (Door and bottom freezer drawer) for 4 years and love it. No issues. I do change the filter the minute it warns me though.

I bought all Samsung appliances 3 years ago. The icemaker has been giving me issues for th past year and the automatic refillable water pitcher no longer fills up. I’ll never buy another Samsung refrigerator.
