Have any of you used Qsymia for weight loss? My insurance did not approve Wegovy and my Dr. is suggesting Qsymia instead. I am new to the take a medication to aid in weight loss. I'm still going through menopause and am 50# too heavy.

I have never heard of it so I went and looked it up. It seems like it's an expensive combo drug of two drugs that are both available as generics, so if your insurance covers it, I guess you could try it if your doctor is suggesting it. It may be cheaper to get Rx for the generics but, I've never priced those drugs so I'm not sure.
I would prefer not to take phentermine or topamax myself, but it may be right for you (lol, like drug commercials always say, ask your doctor if SoAndSo is right for you!).

Topamax was awful when my dh took it for migraine, but there are lots of people who swear by it!

Yes and a friend who took it for seizures gained weight when she had to stop taking it, so it definitely can be of benefit! Just for me personally, I don't want to take it.

I got two kidneys full of kidney stones from taking topamax. I was only on it six months and have had 26 kidney stones since 2016.

I had approached my doctor shortly after Qsymia was introduced. She researched and found it was just made up of 2 other drugs. She suggested trying me out on the phentermine/topomax since as was already suggested there are generic versions and it works out to be much less expensive. I did lose weight on it, but I gained it back after stopping. I didn't have many side effects from it, but I remember I had terrible dry mouth and pop tasted flat to me. The pop thing was good since I shouldn't have been drinking it anyway (in general, not because of an issue with the prescription).
