Sorry if there was already a thread. Couldn’t find it.
I waited until all 8 episodes dropped to watch and… I was really disappointed. Loved the costumes. Except Cressida’s looked straight from the hunger Games WTH! That’s about all I loved bc 1. Hated Eloise and Pen’s relationship. Or lack there of. Hated Eloise and Cressida. 2. Never really felt the attraction or sexual tension then Colin and Pen. 3. I love Bridgerton for its diversity but I think they are going too far. Benedict’s threesome junk and now they are changing Fran’s love interest into a woman? Benedict is kinda true to character as he was into the art studio stuff in season 1but from what I understand Fran’s love story does not make sense. I saw the authors note explaining why this would be ok but if they stay true to the time does that mean they will hide their love among marriages in name(ie to men)? 4. i truly did not understand the new Duke of Kent story line at all…

1. I’ve heard this a lot, but to me it makes sense. Eloise knows that Penelope is the one behind outing her relationship to the printer guy and humiliating her. That Penelope chose to betray her best friend is unforgivable IMO, without Penelope being able to explain herself. And Eloise won’t talk to Pen to let her explain. Remember also that Penelope went after Colin at the beginning of the season.
2. Eh, I’ve read the books and just accepted it. I married a guy that I knew for years before we started dating. Twelve year old me would have NEVER considered dating DH, much less marrying him. In fact, I barely remembered being in some of the same classes. But evidently DH had a thing for me even way back then!
3. Eight kids, one statistically had to be queer. They made a lot out of that one scene, but I didn’t really get much from it without knowing that Jess Brownell (the show runner) was saying that’s what we were seeing.
4. I’m with you all the way on this one. Maybe the new little Lord is who Hyacinth marries? Or Gregory marries a sister? Because otherwise, I can’t figure out why they were at Francesca’s wedding, which was supposed to be a small, family only wedding.

I don't know why Lord Debling didn't go for Cressida after he tossed away Pen... he seemed to be interested enough in her.. .and he just wanted a wife.. it didnt really seem to matter.. except that he didnt want Pen if she was in love with Colin... I really dont like Cressidas ending.. if it really is how she ends... I hope not because she was better as a bitch... Im not a fan of her friendship with Eloise...
I really like the Mondrich family... but I dont know why they had to create a new story for them... all the guys hang out at the club... I feel like they were fine there...
I am kinda excited about Francesca and Michaela instead of Michael.. i have read the books... and F n M did get really really steamy... but I think a f/f relationship will be new and exciting... and can also get really steamy.. Im in the minority but i am looking forward to it...

I sort of thought they were going to have Cressida and Eloise and up together!
As for Francesca and the other lady, that went totally unnoticed by me. I had to Google the whole thing after reading here. Seems a little odd, I think Cressida and Eloise makes more sense tbh. "Spinster" friends who retire to the country...

I also waited for all eight episodes to be available before I started watching and I just feel underwhelmed with this series. Colin is one of my favourite characters in the series and I was looking forward to seeing his and Pen's relationship develop, but I feel like we didn't really get to see as much of them as a couple as we did Daphne and Simon or Kate and Anthony. I could have done with a lot less of the Duke of Kent storyline, I don't understand why that was such a big part of the screentime, and less of Benedict's threesome. I also wish the Lady Whistledown reveal to the ton had happened more in line with the book as I thought that was stronger storytelling than what they ended up doing.
I'll also admit I'm disappointed about Michael becoming Michalea, mostly because Michael is my favourite character from across the eight books so I have certain ideas of how I think he should look. I expected Benedict would be the one to end up in a same sex relationship although Cressida and Eloise would have been an interesting but unlikely couple.
