I saw the online catalog/book several weeks ago and added the sale date to my calendar. My mother bought my son the very first Star Trek ornament and each year thereafter til her death in 2019. I continue the tradition now.

Wowza---it's been a long time since I bought any Hallmark ornaments, and I'm astounded by just how many they are making each year as well as how much the light and sound one can cost, now, too. There used to be 2 or 3 Peanuts ornaments a year at one point, I recall, because my mom collects one regular size one and 1 mini one each year. Now there's so many! I get a kick out of the idea that they have a Wish Book like Sears used to.

Hallmark ornaments. Sigh. Such lovely memories.
I have a long history and love of Hallmark ornaments. When I met my now DH, he was working behind the counter of the camera department of store that also sold Hallmark products including the Ornaments. (The ornaments used to debut in July - now June? Wow. Lol. )
While dating, he would gift me ornaments every year and thus a collection began. He worked at that store for the first 10 years of our marriage so our collection grew and grew even after he stopped working retail. Buying and collecting Hallmark ornaments became something we did together every year. We have a very large collection, probably in the hundreds. We stopped buying them probably at least 10 years ago because we just had too many.
We only chose ornaments that we both loved and put up a Hallmark tree every year. There are some that date back to 1970. Of course we didn’t buy them for the idea of the value going up or anything like that. Many of the early ornaments that we have don’t have boxes. It does seem like over the years, the “series” ornaments became bigger and bigger and longer and longer. Too expensive for me. The prices have really risen over the years!
Now we are of the age where we need to downsize. A future project is to go through all those hundreds of ornaments and pair them down and only keep our most sentimental favorites. I love looking at the new releases every years and it’s so tempting to add to my collection.

I used to buy Hallmark ornaments for my family. DH’s as tractors, Yosemite Sam, or Dad ones. Jay has baby, school, and whatever he was interested in at the time: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Scooby Doo, saxophone. Mom was birds.
Stopped buying them a number of years ago because there are so many they no longer all fit on the tree. It’s a hodgepodge and there are other types of ornaments that also have a place. I try to rotate them every year.
Honestly, Jay was supposed to take a number of them with him to start his ornament collection. He hasn’t flown the nest yet and he has no intention of doing so any time soon.
Unfortunately, we lost our Hallmark stores 4 or 5 years ago. Only visit one if we are on a day trip.

Oh I love my Hallmark collection. I remember buying them for my mom when I was younger for years. Sadly they disappeared either from the divorce of my parents, or in a fire, or my dad just threw them away. Who knows. I carried on the tradition with my family and usually buy one or two every year. I keep saying no more but I can't help it. Then my husband's aunt worked in a Hallmark for years and would send us some, and they were always the more fancier expensive ones!! I LOVED it.
I was just in Hallmark a couple of weeks ago and picked up their Wish book. I got a kick out of it looking through and 'picking' ones out.. lol

Aww, I haven't bought any in years. I finally went through them and donated many, kept just a couple, and gave a bunch to DD (the ones she requested, she's ridiculously nostalgic).
I was glad to give her my Barbie ornaments, I wanted then to have a good home but they just didn't really spark joy like they used to.
(DH and I still jokingly use that Kondo phrase whenever we talk about my "collections" and whether I should donate vs keep)

I have my eye on the Linus and snoopy ornament where he is waiting for his blanket to be washed. That is how I was as a kid with my blanket, that I still have.

I must have the Oregon trail one! Such nostalgia! I also always love the Star Wars ones, though I don’t typically buy them. $65 is too much for an ornament in my opinion.

I don't have a ton but when DD was born my bff started collecting the Fairy Messenger series for her, as the collection had just started. It's been so much fun every year to see which flower the fairy is going to be. We are now on what, year 19 and still no Dahlia! The suspense is killing us and we are starting to worry they'll discontinue the line without making a Dahlia fairy. This year's fairy is a hibiscus and she's adorable!
The same artist started an adorable Mermaid series so DD has started collecting Mermaids for a sea themed tree.
Other than that I browse the catalog and pick up one here and there but not every year, but there are so many beautiful ornaments they can be hard to resist!
